N'zule was tired, and rather sore. None of that mattered however, because he was feeling rather sated, as Del's emotions were spilling onto him, and for the first time in the last five days, he was feeling completely himself.
Calm, collected, good natured. Friendly.
Anyone who ran into him now wouldn't be yelled at, or have things thrown at them, instead they would be treated like old friends, though N'zule would probably remain a little dazed for a few more days.
His clothes were rumpled, and his shirt had a small rip in it, and his hair was tousled and his mouth was slightly swollen. And, as usual, after a flight, N'zule didn't care what he looked like, or who he ran into. After something like that, all N'zule could think of was getting back up to his Weyr, and going to sleep.
Naturally, N'zule didn't really pay attention to where he was going. And he really shouldn't have been wandering through this section of the lower caverns.

Laughter rang through the corridor as Rory and his newest lover walked away from his rooms. The blue rider was humorous and seemed to always be in a good mood. Rory had not really been with the man long, little more than a couple days. Still walking through the corridors one would only guess they were friends. The rider had come to see if he wanted to go eat with him... though Rory wondered if that would lead to other things.
Still he became very quiet when he turned the corner and saw N'zule walking toward him. Whispering to his new man, "I realized I forgot something... go on ahead I'll meet you in a few minutes." Rory smiled winningly at the taller man, who kissed him gently and walked away towards the Weyrhall. When he was certain the man was out of earshot, Rory spoke.
"Hi N'zule..." He looked the man over as he came closer. There could be no doubt what N'zule was coming from. The jealous voice inside him spoke but he would not give it his voice. The rider did seem a little worse for the wear. With a concerned tone in his voice and an ungaurded look of care in his eyes Rory asked, "Are you alright?"

It took a little bit longer than usual for N'zule to respond to anything. Languid, was perhaps, the best word to describe him at this point.
"No, I'm- just a flight, you know. Oh, hello Rory!" Rory's voice was the one speaking to him, Rory was being worried about him- Rory, who only a few days earlier N'zule had humiliated in the Weyrhall. N'zule blushed, from shame and horror. Often his memories of pre-flight days were hazy for a little while after flight, which was often a good thing. It gave him a chance to recover.
"Um. How are you?" N'zule sounded nervous, and a little confused. Why in the name of the first egg was Rory still on speaking terms with him? He couldn't remember them making up over the Weyrhall, and he couldn't remember Rory ever forgiving him for something half as bad as that without a tremdous load of pleading and apologies.

He might have been remiss in thinking he could talk to N'zule as a friend. Even if he had hurt and been hurt by N'zule, he knew that pre flight was a bad time for greenriders. "Oh, must've been a bit rough, your lip is really swollen..." It nearly looked like the man had been beat up. At least that would explain his concern.
"I'm okay. After Rorie died, well I've been doing a lot of changes." He didn't want to end up alone without friends because he was driving them away with his drinking and his inability to forgive. "Its been hard, truth be told." He said it solemnly but soon felt he couldn't help but smile.
"You hungry at all?" After asking this, he realized he had forgotten his new friend. He couldn't think of why he would forget that so quickly. Rory was obviously still besotted with the greenrider. He was always so amiable and nice after a flight.

His lip was swollen? He hadn't noticed. N'zule's hand reached up and felt his lip, and he sighed. The greenrider probably looked a mess- it would be then that he saw Rory wouldn't it? And it was probably because he looked beat up that Rory was forgiving him too- N'zule swore to himself that he would do something nice for Rory soon. The poor man deserved it.
But Rory's next words shocked N'zule out of that apologetic mood. "Rorie's dead?" The Greenrider gasped. "What happened? Was it the sickness? I'm so sorry!" And before he could help himself, N'zule threw his arms over Rory, and gave him a comforting hug. Pulling back quickly, hoping he hadn't overstepped any of Rory's bounds, N'zule smiled tentively.
"I'd love to go get some food. I'm famished."

He realized how soon after the flight it must be if N'zule had not had the chance to look himself over. Rory didn't bother thinking all the negative things he could, he was trying to mnd a friendship not make a rift between them. "I'm sure it will go down in a little while. I wouldn't worry about it..." He said, realizing he may have touched a nerve with N'zule being more than a little vain.
The look of suprise on Rory's face when he was suddenly hugged was priceless. He hugged the man back and said, softly, for the death of the little one still weighed on him, "It was the illness that took her. I failed her." He gave the greenrider a sad smile back but he almost regretted that N'zule didn't stay close to him.
"Good. Great, I uh...hope you don't mind if a friend of mine joins us. I completely forgot I promised to eat with him till after I asked you." What was he going to do? He didn't want N'zule to not eat with him and he couldn't very well have his new lover and ex lover eat a meal together. By the Egg, how did he get himself into these situations?

N'zule felt horrible that Rory was blaming himself over Rorie's death- and wanted to comfort him. However, the Greenrider didn't really think it was his place to do that- and he really didn't want to burn this bridge, not now. Not ever, if he could avoid it.
"A friend?" That question was murmured, and N'zule didn't really think much of it, other than to wonder who it was. "Oh no, that would be fine. I'd love to meet your friend."
N'zule paused, and pursed his lips. "Ah- when are you going to meet this friend? Are we eating now, or should I meet you later." And silently, N'zule added to himself, where were they going to eat.

"Yeah, you'll like him. He's a rider too." Rory said nonchalantly. He didn't want to make this out to be more than it was. In fact he didn't know if N'zue could handle seeing Rory with the type of friend he was going to eat with.
"Well I was going to go straight away but if you want to clean up real quick, you could use my room. I mean its not even a minute from here." He hoped N'zule didn't think that was a come on. He just wanted the rider to feel comfortable. He kept thinking any moment now N'zule was going to take something he said the wrong way.
He stopped his negative thoughts yet again. "Well he'll be at his wing's table no doubt... in the Weyrhall. " Never before had he faced such a dillema. He didn't want to share N'zule with his new lover. The greenrider would no doubt attract the blue rider as well and then Rory could end up without anyone. Rory realized that he was undervaluing himself but he was no rider.

"Ah, no." N'zule really didn't need to be in Rory's room right now. Not after his flight, not when they were both being nice to each other, but each was probably still feeling numerous things for each other. Being with Rory was confusing, and being in the Drudge's rooms was not going to make it any easier.
"I'll be fine. I'm much more hungry than I am vain." That, at least, was purely true. Food of any sort would have been welcome at that point, and N'zule would have been pleased.
Nodding with agreement at eating at a strange Wing's table(something N'zule would rarely do), the Greenrider felt a need to ask a few questions. "So, does this rider have a name, and which wing is he in?"
N'zule then started walking toward the Weyrhall, not wanting to keep Rory's friend waiting.

"Alright then." He grinned, not vain. HAH! No doubt his dragon would have something to say about that. She would never let him go out looking like this. Personally, Rory thought he looked rather sexy. He really should not think that sort of thought in N'zule's presence. He began to walk toward the Weyrhall, knowing N'zule would as well.
"He's in Zahra Wing. I don't know if you've met him, but you probably have. His name is T'sar and his dragon is blue Vorth." This was a bit odd really. Talking about dragonriders to a dragonrider. Not that N'zule was an ordinary rider.
"I wouldn't think twice about it. He's bound to like you." In fact that worried Rory but not more than thinking that N'zule might prefer T'sar to him. He shouldn't be worried about it but he was and he couldn't seem to shake the feeling that he should have stayed in his room.
Upon entering the Weyrhall, Rory immediately spotted T'sar. He was a good looking man, after all Rory was picky, with jet black hair and gray eyes. The man was definately looking his way now. He had to hand it to himself, he sure knew how to choose men. Leading the way, Rory quickly filled his tray of food and walked toward the Bluerider, who was actually at the end of a table that was mostly empty. "T'sar, I brought a close friend of mine. N'zule, this is T'sar rider of blue Vorth. T'sar, N'zule is a Pyralis Wingrider, he rides green Delith."

T'sar and Vorth. N'zule mused to himself for a moment, before realizing where he'd heard of them before- T'sar, like many of the Zahra Wing, had made a name for himself over his pranks, and Vorth had attempted to fly Delith in the past. He hadn't won, but he'd tried, not that it really made them close- or even friends in the slightest.
N'zule nodded when Rory told him that T'sar was bound to like him. The Greenrider didn't doubt that- when he was in the mood to be, N'zule was capable of being as good a charmer as Rory, or any of the other Weyr Casanovas.
When he was introduced, N'zule's eyes slid over T'sar's. The Bluerider really was a good looking man, and N'zule had to wonder what Rory had meant when he'd said that the two of them were "Friends". N'zule reached his hand out to shake T'sar's.
"Pleased to meet you." He took his hand back, and considered the handshake. T'sar's hands were dry, and warm. Pleasent enough, N'zule added to himself.
"What are we having tonight?"

Rory noticed that the introduction went well but he couldn't calm his nerves down. "Sorry I took so long." He said to T'sar who didn't ever seem to mind things like this. The man even replied, "Well I can see you were distracted." Rory felt slightly relieved that the bluerider was happy and yet nervous.
He sat down across from T'sar, who smiled at Rory. "Looks like the wherry is perfect. I wouldn't eat the roast herbeast, seems a bit dry." Rory said in answer to N'zule's question. He normally knew what was going on in the Lower Caverns and what food was good. Not that he listened to gossip but food forecasts were always helpful.
The drudge who approached their table was a middle aged woman with a smile on her face. Oh Faranth, just what they needed some overly cheery woman. He nearly turned away from her. "What can I get you?"
Rory really wanted to say a really large glass of ale, but he knew better. "I'll be needing some juice, a slice of wherry and some mixed greens with a bisquit." He noted T'sar already had been served.

N'zule smiled at the lady, feeling that her brightness, and cheer(reminding him of his niece, Nisha), was simply another good part of the day. He hated it when servers were sullen, or made you feel like they would spit in your food.
"A glass of wine, a good deal of greens, and a nice slice of wherry." N'zule said with relish. It felt like he hadn't eaten all day(and he might not have, he couldn't remember). "Thank you dear." He added, giving the serving lady a large, teeth flashing smile. After all, N'zule was in a very good mood.
As the lady bustled off to get Rory and N'zule their food(as T'sar had already been served), N'zule tried to think of a good converstation topic. He settled for one that was always a good one for people who didn't know each other well.
Hatchings.
"So, do either of you know any of the candidates for our hatching?"

Rory wasn't sure if N'zule knew but he said it aloud anyway, " I heard Nisha would be standing for the Queen Egg. Are you excited?" The greenrider probably knew she was standing but that Rory knew was more than likely a suprise.
He wondered in the back of his mind, how she was doing. After that day, he had made no effort to contact her and perhaps it was for the better. N'zule would kill him if he knew anything about that incident. Rory hoped that she would forget it over time, he hadn't meant her any harm.
Though Rory heard gossip about many Candidates unless he knew them personally, he would not repeat any names to anyone.

The happy, paternal smile rose on N'zule's face, just as it always did when it came to Nisha. She was the closest thing he had to a daughter, and her brother had impressed a Brown. He'd always felt that she had the highest chance of Impressing of all of the girls in his rather large family, and he was more than pleased to see that she was standing for the Queen egg.
"Yes, she is. And she has a rather good chance, if I do say so myself." N'zule responded proudly. "Zarian's standing too. And that half brother of Nisha's too- Shantan."
The bright and cheery woman had returned, and she handled both steaming plates with ease, after passing Rory his juice, and N'zule his wine, they both found themselves having large plates of food in front of them. She gave N'zule a wink, and then moved along to help someone else.
