Myridia is a small, flourishing metropolis of diverse cultures and knowledge, pressed between two massive empires. Both eye it greedily, but due to superior geographical positioning as well as a magically gifted population, this little country has kept any would-be invaders at bay for quite a while.
Still, it was only a matter of time before both empires expanded themselves to the limit, with Ashar stretching to the Endless Sea in the west and Kalen to the mountains in the east. The continent of Farrah is now split into two huge giants, with Myridia placed delicately between both their borders. This is the potential crucial control point of the unavoidable war that will soon erupt, as Myridia’s ample resources would be a crown jewel in any empire’s war chest.
Tensions stir uneasily as the people of Myridia begin to debate on their nation’s next move, with some calling out to submit to either of the greater territories. Yet the policy of independence rings strong in many of the citizens whether it be for tradition, for belief, or for pure ignorance.
Those who govern Ashar and Kalen have now turned to focus on this small, defiant land. Both have sent a single individual carrying the most lavish of gifts, with similar requests: for Myridia to allow them to present their empires' cases and to come and discuss the potential future of the plateau grounds. The Council has kept eerily silent about their opinions - while the chorus of representatives has done just the opposite; the forum is now open everyday with more and more joining the debate.
In a land in which all factions have a say, a single voice might just make the difference.
Betrayal. Intrigue. Deception.
