Rock star: (noun) 1. Someone who engages in hardcore partying, including tons of alcohol, drugs, and sex. ; 2. A person, male or female, devoted to a life of rocking. Generally seen donning Def Leppard or AC/DC shirts. Often times seen with a banada securing down the top half of a mullet. Likes Bitchin' Cameros. Patiently waiting the day when he/she will take the stage and no longer be a roadie.
Rock stars. People want to be like them. Other's pay hundreds of dollars to see them perform or get their pictures. There are songs written about them. And yet, they are a rare breed. Not many can consider themselves lucky enough to be among the ranks of the rock star. However, there are those fortunate few who find themselves born to fame and fortune.
Spotlight-bound life can be tiring, no matter how few really know it. It's aggravating to be simply sitting in class, trying to learn, when all you can hear are the whispers of your parents admirers behind you, saying things like "they're so-and-so's kid!" The teens of Beaton Academy can tell you first hand. Beaton is a school for the children of the famous, simply so they can live their lives without having to deal with adoring fans of their parents 24/7. The only downside? The phrase “do you know who I am?” doesn’t work here.
No matter how hard this school is trying to enforce the fact that these teenagers are just like any other, it only works to a point. Influenced by the choices of their parents, the allure of drugs, booze, partying, sex, and all of the other things that the privileged endure is stronger for them than any other normal teenager. Luckily, they have each other to party with.
Same as any other school, the drama, fights, hookups, crushes and so on continue as normal. The normal high school cliques continue to reek havoc on those at this school. It is the only place where they aren’t judged simply by how famous their parents are. Whether that is a good or bad thing, is up to them to decide.
