DANYGAR
Some of the castles in Europe were untouched by time, and even now in the eighteenth century, considered some of the most haunted, but there is none so mysterious as the Gwendylar Castle and the surrounding town of Danygar. Tucked away in the mountains, Danygar is a beautiful city stuck in the medeival times during this modern age, and the towering castle and her ramparts are even more breathtaking. Yet, the residents of Danygar will readily admit that what they call ‘spirits’ haunt their beloved town, and that the castle seems to be the center of the paranormal phenomenon.
This is not true – spirits do not haunt Gwendylar Castle and Danygar, and in fact, they are not haunted at all. What causes the strange phenomenon is actually the rift the building of Gwendylar Castle tore between two parallel worlds. The humans do not affect one world, but the inhabitants of the other world sometimes escape into that of Danygar. Strange creatures like the Elves, Fairies, Imps, Wizards, and Dragons of our myths inhabit this ‘other world’.
Seldom do these creatures escape from the world called Magyria, but what causes the haunting of Danygar and the overlooking castle is the Elnfyre, a creature that can appears both transparent and invisible and can take almost any shape. They are a nuisance in either world, and the guards of the rift do their best not to let the Elnfyre through – to return. Once an Elnfyre leaves the world, it’s gone forever.
The city of Danygar and the King on his throne in Gwendylar Castle are peaceful and unaware of the war going on in the other side of the rift. Magyria is torn between two heirs to the recently deceased king’s Throne, and sister pits herself against her brother. Greed and malice work their ways into the siblings’ hearts, and soon no one will want either of them to rule. The war threatens several times to spill over into the city of Danygar as refugees escape through the guards.
