Ari is one of the tallest members of her family, standing around 5'7". Her strict dietary and athletic habits keep her figure more than slim. As such, she strikes an intimidating figure. She tends to wear men's clothing, which doesn't help with her goal to become more feminine. The two things she has going in her favor are her high cheekbones and her long, black hair. The cheekbones are inherited from her grandmother, and the hair she has never cut so it reaches to just above her waist.
However, they are the only two things working in her favor. Her body is all muscle and lean from daily running to keep herself in shape. She has nothing better to do with her time. Her skin is only mildly tanned, because she runs in the morning before the sun rises, and spends the rest of the day inside. If she has a shape, it is hidden beneath her clothing. Her eyes are a light brown, usually dull unless she's in the midst of solving a problem.

Ari has a vibrant and fiesty personality, which is buried under a cool and collected businesswoman mask when she works. And since she works most of the time, her real attitude is rarely soon. Seeing it tends to surprise people. She has no problem telling others exactly what she thinks, and only cares that it might offend others when it affects her work. She is completely work oriented, but if a child is hurt, she melts into a mother figure. She has always wanted children, but never found a man that met her approval.
She refuses to think that any problem cannot be solved, and so she is very stubborn and single minded. She does not change her mind, but she will not impose her thinking on anyone. She is politely friendly, but not nice. Ari has a temper, but keeps it under wraps, letting it simmer. It comes out in other ways. She is very disciplined, and always acts as such. Lately, she has been trying to be more open and feminine, but it's not working as intended.

History:
Ari is the fifth child of seven born to her mother's first husband, which means she wasn't pampered and expected to be useful as soon as she could work. She was born into a small cothold within a quarter of a day's walk of High Reaches Hold. Her family kept a small inn, along with an equally small stable for visitors to the Hold who, for whatever reason, did not stay within the Hold itself. The women wove on their free time and sold their work at various functions. Her father managed finances and helped the boys do their work. The women did everything else.
Her father died when she was eight. After two years of her mother trying to manage the household - and failing - 10 Turn old Ari told her mother she was going to do it instead. Anyes was more than happy enough to let her daughter try. Four Turns later, their small inn was thriving better than the later years of her father's life.
Anyas felt it was improper for her daughter to be running their business, so she had her brother and his family move in. By then Ari's two eldest sisters and eldest brother had been married and moved out, so there was room for them to move in. Ari had to relinquish her job to her Uncle and take up weaving under her mother's command. Ari hated it. The only solace she took was in her cousin Askel. They became inseperable and would spend their mornings shirking weaving duty to visit the Hold. There she met Ralyn, the future Lady Holder of Fort.
The three of them were fast friends until Askel was married to another cotholder a Turn later. Ralyn could hardly leave the Hold due to her impending life at Fort, and Askel had to stay with her new husband, so Ari was typically alone. Her mother had grown used to her now only unmarried daughter spending time at the Hold, so Ari moved in as a maid. Soon enough she was helping the Headwoman.
That was around the time Ralyn left for her new life. Ari slipped into a daily routine, trying to pass the time as all of her siblings, cousins and friends got married. Ari had never found anyone to love, but she never felt bitter towards anyone.
When she heard Ralyn was expecting her first child, Ari wanted to be there for her. She was Ari's last true friend, so she resigned from her post, packed her things and moved to Fort Hold. The Lady Holder managed to secure her a position as Headwoman's Assistant, and a Turn later the Headwoman passed on, leaving Ari to take the job.
And take the job she did. It was soon obvious that ari was suited for the work, and with her strong personality and level head, most did as she asked. Ralyn's death shattered her, and she turned colder than she had been after the loss of her only friend. The only thing that warmed her heart for years were Ralyn and Merrek's children.
That is, until Merrek married again. Sulia was nothing compared to Ralyn, and so Ari hated her. Still trying to recover from her lonliness and despair, Ariashi became more social, and has had a few lovers, but no children of her own. From then until now, Ari's life has been a mundane repetition.
