Character Info:
Name:
K'sah (was Kaelsah)
Age:
16
Gender:
Male
Rank:
Weyrling
Family:
Father: Darest (44)
Mother: Liess (43)
Brothers: Lirst (21), D'leon (of bronze Myeth) (19), Jasaan (15)
Sister: Alayne (17)
Foster Father: Lorkain (52)
Foster Mother: Krisella (46)
Foster Sister: Janora (23), Loranys (21), Lorathana (17), Caionna (15), Irinia (12)
Appearance:
Kaelsah is small for his age, and not just in his 5'5" height. The boy has a thin frame and not much muscle, giving him the look of a woman. He has been teased for this enough, but not enough to outweigh the looks of appreciation he garners. To emphasize this and gain more attention, he has embraced his looks. His hair has grown out further than is normally seen, and paired with the pleasing shade of chestnut, he can be mistaken for a girl.
While working, the boy keeps his hair tied back and swept out of the way. It's only practical. Otherwise, his hair is let loose, carefully groomed. He keeps it at a clean cut around his shoulders, with the slightest hint of a swoop, due to a jealous friend with shears. The boy's eyes are a muted green, with a faint ring of amber around his pupils - a trait that seems to run in the family. They are almost unnaturally wide, only helping to make him look more feminine.
He rarely chooses to work out, and so is hardly physically fit. This has been a problem, and a contribution to his fragile health. His legs are unproportional to his overall body size, being too long. He often mourns this fact, and wears his clothes long to try to hide the fact. He prefers muted greens in fabric, though more often than not goes a little flashier.
Personality:
Kael is a fairly passive male, opting for a type of sophisticated friendliness rather than causing a scene. Rarely if given the option will he do anything abrasive, unless it's to stand up for himself when someone goes too far. And too far in his books is a long way. As a passive person, he is easily persuaded to do most anything. All it takes is several whispered words, or a pleading look and he'll cave in. People have tried to use him to argue a point, but they've soon found out he's not suited for that. The moment the other person presented their case, Kael wavered in uncertainty as to which side he wanted to take.
He's fairly arrogant when it comes to himself, though he passes it off as mock-arrogance. Because it is his youthful, girlish looks and assumed air of simplicity that gets him his admirers, he tries to downplay the less appealing aspects of his personality, like arrogance and vainity. He enjoys being useful, up to the point when he gets tired.
History:
By the time he was born, his father was growing tired of new additions to his family. His workload was as heavy as ever, and with Liess doting on Dyleon, there was no one in the immediate family to take care of the children that infernal woman kept popping out. Kael was fostered with one of the more esteemed families in the Minor Hold his father had run by proxy since the former Holder died heirless. Fortunately for him, his father wasn't one for imagination, so his older sister and younger brother were fostered in friends of his foster family. He wasn't ignored by his parents, but he never received much attention from them.
The family he'd been fostered into was filled with girls. The father of that family - Lorkain - was more than happy to foster a son when it was unlikely his wife would bear him one. Kael grew up with a doting family, and because all but one of them were female, he grew into the mindset of a girl. He was treated like a girl, dressed like a girl, and even taught the manners of a girl. the lessons were from his older foster sisters who took unending delight in treating him like another sister. Their father took grief from this, but had no say in the matter. He naturally became close to his sisters.
Although he loved his foster family, his little heart yearned to be friends with his other real siblings. He pulled a few of his foster sisters into a group his second eldest brother Dyleon led. His brother led them on many wonderful adventures, and Kael came to respect the older boy. However, their fun was put to an end when Dyleon had the girls sneak into the men's rooms in the Lower Caverns. The Headwoman found them and alerted their parents, and they were all forced to stop their games. After that came a dull two Turns of learning, mixed with gossiping and learning to flirt from his sisters. Due to the fact that he learned this skill from girls, it was most affective on boys. He didn't mind this, because at that time, he had his foster sisters to experiment with. They were not blood related, so it was never stopped when a few of the maids found out. It was his eldest sister's fault. She had been dumped by her first lover, and left with her new desires. The easiest target was her foster brother, no matter how young he was at the time.
When he was 12 Turns, he overheard Dyleon - whom he had not seen in a long time - talking with a group of boys from the Lower Caverns. He was fascinated by the way they talked, and the knowledge that had been forbidden him by being raised with women. Knowing his brother wasn't supposed to be acting that way, he tracked him down and blackmailed him into teaching him how to act around women and in general act tough. Dyleon had to agree, and so began Kael's education of things rough, dirty and manly.
Kael had started to settle down and enjoy life. He got along with his foster family, he was popular among the young men and women of the Hold, he had Dyleon, and he had an amazing lover. The man was far older than him, but his years were well worth the ah, time they shared together. However, the relationship turned abusive, and Kael struggled to hide the bruises from his brother. He managed to do so for several sevendays, but after a particuarly rough night, his brother found out. Kael had been napping and waiting for Dyleon to finish eating dinner. When he woke, his brother was gone. Kael found him beating his lover, and managed prevent him from killing the man.
It was brought up to their blood father, who had no time or energy to deal with it. He sent them both to Telgar Weyr, just far enough away that he wasn't obligated to visit them should either get the chance to Stand. Kael adapted quickly to the life at the Weyr, but has yet to take a lover - male or female - that lasts longer than two sevendays. He knows Dyleon watches him, and so keeps careful.
Dragon Info:
Name:
Green Nariath
( hex : 4FA83D )
Appearance:
Unlike the majority of the greens at the Weyr, Nariath is a dusky, dirty green. The undertone is brown, lending her that dusty look that permanently settles over her hide. Be this as it may, she acts like she is the most brilliant shade of emerald, shining around the neck of a secret lover, covering giggles and coveting glances from across the dining table. She is a moderate size, and thinks it is a nice one.
Personality:
Nariath is quite the little princess, and demands to be treated as such. She is a little too intelligent and aloof for being a green, and chooses to speak in grand words and haughty tones. Paired with the sweeping gestures of her wings and flicks of her tail, one might consider her attitude to be impudent and impish. Considering herself above many dragons, she chooses to ignore them, rather than start a fight. She finds that confusing them with big words and odd movements is enjoyment enough. And certainly more satisfying than exerting physical strength to 'win' something. Nariath is lazy, to boot.
When excited, the green gets giddy, and will slink around like she has the most magnificent secret one can have. Her head is held a little higher, and bobs when she speaks, looking for all the world like a parrot. But this is rare for the little green princess.
History:
She hatched rather magnificently, though not many people saw it. Such is the story of her life: full of unseen magnificence. But as long as K'sah sees, she is okay with everyone else missing it. Afterall, if they don't see it, they don't deserve to see it.
She thinks most bronzes are insufferable, especially Myeth.
