T'keal knew Kitya. You simply couldn't throw parties for most of your adult rider career, and not know the girl. When she arrived at the party, like a windstorm, T'keal simply waited until she was done greeting most of the party.
When she spoke to him, he smiled.
"Well, I would suppose it'd fall to me. Who is playing against me?" He glanced around, as a bluerider joined in, a greenrider, and a pretty boy who seemed to be another Bluerider's pet. Shuffling the cards once more, he dealt to everyone, and laid out two cards on floor.
"So, Kitya, want to give me some luck?" T'keal patted the space next to him in an invitation to join him, though he didn't doubt that if she did decide to join him, that she would be the type to sit down in his lap.

Kia half grumbled when her little sister grabbed her arm. Of course it was a half-hearted, at best, grumble. In truth, she gave her sister a half hug - the best she could do with her arm-linked. "Hmm... you are the one who talked me into finally accepting an invitation, dear." She grinned at her, "I just hope I don't wind up regretting it."
Right now, the jury was out on that particular issue. The truth of the matter was that she was glad she had seen the way Larissa had stood up to the Riders. It had filled her with pride. Likewise, she knew that if she did allow herself to loosen up some, she could maybe have some fun - she was just kind of concerned that if she loosened up too much she might wind up doing something that she would regret in the morning.
She took a deep breath, "I suppose that it cannot hurt anything to watch them play." She smiled to Larissa, "If you need me, hun, just come get me, ok?" She felt bad about leaving the young woman, since she was pretty sure she was no more interested in watching than playing - though she could easily be wrong.

Kitya was a little miffed that she wasn't invited to actually play, however she sat down next to T'keal anyways, and waved her sister over with her. She might have sat in his lap if she didn't think that would hinder his playing. And of course she wanted him to win. If he might give her a trinket or token of appreciation if he did. After all, she would be playing the part of luck, and she wanted to be good luck, not bad. Also she just really loved presents.
She was glad her sister had come to the party, the poor girl needed to get out some time. After all she did work hard, much harder than any of the rest of them! Putting up with those high and mighties, the headwoman and the queenriders, all of the time. It would be good for Kiaran to loosen up a bit from time to time. If she totally got to be a popular girl like herself, well then Kiaran wounld not be her steady, dependable sister, and she did need some voice of responsibility in her life.
She put a arm around T'keal's shoulder, and let her hand rest at the nape of his neck, "Okay, T'keal, let's see what you can do."

Larissa watched as Kiaran's sister, Kitya entered. Kitya was a nice girl but she was always a little too wild for Larissa's taste. Goodness, she sounded like a prude. No one seemed to understand how she was the way she was. In her eyes, her parents made her that way and mostly her mother. Larissa may not be ambitious but it didn't mean she wanted to be without what other women had.
She watched as everyone seemed to gather round the poker table. Nodding to Kiaran, she hoped that the girl had some fun tonight and didn't worry about her. Larissa wasn't fond of poker, even watching it. Decieving other people on purpose, well it didn't seem right to her. Still she wanted that other glass of wine.
After all, she needed to be amiable so that a dragonrider could give her a lift down later. "I don't normally watch poker but I'm sure it can't be that hard to follow..."
