Leshya had, as her husband knew she would, refused to cut back on her work much at all just because she was pregnant. While she knew that Enald's stewards could easily pick up her slack, and that the headwoman could cover her "lady" duties, she would not even consider being less than a full partner to her husband in running the Hold. She was also still working on convincing her husband to pick up the tithing for the Weyr beyond the minimum required.
In fact, that was what she was doing just now. "Enald, I know that things are tighter for us because of the illness, but see, we can put away a fourth less than we are and still be more than sufficiently putting away for an emergency. The fact of the matter is that much of what we put away spoils before we need it." She was sitting beside her husband at his desk rather than at her own, so they could look over the figures she'd worked out. The headwoman had helped her with providing the amounts that got thrown out and how much would be needed for a full turn if all the Hold needed to be gathered into the main Hold. Enald's own Stewards also helped provide figures, though they were unaware of it!
"The weyr was hit hard by the illness as well. And even if we were to be hit again by an emergency, we have a decent stock. You were at the ..." Leshya closed her eyes as she felt momentarily dizzy and then shook her head, "You were at the hatching. You saw how many dragons there were. That has to mean Thread is returning soon. And the Dragons and Riders will be protecting not just us, but our child."
Leshya closed her eyes again, feeling dizzy and instinctively reached over for her husband. "I don't feel so well."

Enald was getting sick of this fascination with the Weyrs. He sent enough to both of them, and lately he'd been rather irritable. He was probably coming down with a cold- no big thing, so he pinched the bridge of his nose, and listened to every single word Leshya said, keeping himself from interrupting her.
Yes, they could, with the newly reduced numbers of Telgar, afford to sent the Weyrs more. Of course, when thread started again, they'd expect more. And if something happened that required Draconic assistance, the expectations would rise again. It was safer to keep the tithe low- but it was also rude to not Tithe correctly to his Wife's sister.
He decided he would approve the one forth raise Leshya was insisting on. It would be his gift to her on account of their child. And he hoped she'd leave him alone after that.
However, before he could agree to her demands, Leshya's face grew pale, and Enald was out of his seat, by her side and carefully helping her to sit in a quick blur of motion.
After that was accomplished, Enald went outside, grabbed the page watching after him, and commanded the boy to run to the Healers, and come back quick. Then he was back in his study, looking concerned.
"What's wrong dear?"

She shook her head a bit at his question, not entirely sure what was wrong. "I don't know." Leshya reached out for her husband, wanting the comfort of his touch at the moment. "I feel kind of light headed... dizzy."
The usually assured woman looked to her husband with concern in her eyes. She didn't feel anything in her abdominal area to suggest that there was a problem with the baby, but that didn't mean that she wasn't worried. Her breathing was fine, and she felt the baby kick, but nothing more than a normal kick - probably concerned because Mommy was concerned.
"I think the baby's ok." Her other hand moved to her womb. "I just... I don't understand. I've been eating what the Healers told me to. And you always make sure I don't work through a meal." She had insisted that meant he didn't either so they could eat together.
The healer was not long in coming - Lady of he Hold, pregnant with her first child and potentially the heir, no Hold assigned Healer would risk losing his posting by being slow to respond to a need.
"Lady Leshya? What's the problem?" He glanced at Enald, "Your wife should be resting. The Headwoman should be able to tend to her duties until after the child."
Lesh glared at the man, squeezing her husband's hand and answered, "I just got light-headed. And I'm fine and able to do my duties." She held onto her husband's hand while the Healer looked her over.

When the Healer finally(It might have only been minutes, but it FELT like hours), Enald back off, giving the man space to work. And when the man judged what he was allowing his wife to do, Enald's usually composed face twisted slightly, allowing his anger beneath to rise- just a little, before he shoved it back down, and watched the Healer as he worked.
"I'm sure everything is fine." Enald told his wife, giving her a sweet smile, one that managed to show no anger, or fear. Everything would be fine, as long as she stayed with him.
The Healer for his part, realized he probably wasn't doing the smarted thing mouthing off at a Lord Holder- not if he didn't want to spend the rest of his days in backwater cotholds.
He asked Leshya simple questions, about what she had eaten, when the dizziness had started, when it had stopped, where on her body she hurt, and seemed to be doing some quick thinking.
"I'm afraid," he began, giving both Enald and Leshya equal looks...

Leshya had learned to read her husband. While he was more than willing to express his love to her, he also tended to be careful to school his emotions most of the time, but Lesh had learned to read him, and while the healer might not have seen Enald's expression, his wife did. If it wasn't for the Healer fussing over her, she would have been smiled at his reaction to the Healer.
She did smile at his reassurance. Everything would be fine. It had to be.
She answered the healer's questions, avoiding Enald's gaze when she mentioned that she had first started to feel slightly dizzy the day before, but it had not been too much, and she didn't think too much about it. She knew her husband could be over protective though, and would probably not be very happy that she hadn't mentioned feeling dizzy immediately.
"I'm afraid that I'm going to have to put you on bedrest. What your experiencing is not uncommon for pregnant women, but if you don't take it easy, it could get a lot worse. I also want you to eat more salty foods. That will help with the dizziness. I'll give the Headwoman an updated menu for you." The healer might have backed off on criticizing the Lord and Lady earlier, but now his tone was stern.
"I will absolutely insist on the bed rest. No strenuous physical activity at all. I'll be checking up on you every other day, at the very least." He stood completely and looked at the pair, "I won't tell you what you can do to entertain yourself while on bed rest, but I will say that you need to be careful to avoid anything too stressful." However, he'd tended enough pregnant women to know that they could go stir-crazy when put on bedrest.
"Do you have any questions?"
