At the Bitran Gather, Elisha had a marvelous time with V'rak. They joked and laughed, and danced, and both drank, though she considerably less than he. Elisha didn't want to be drunk in public, though she had a few glasses. They were like old friends and she had walked him to his weyr to make sure he got in bed alright. She had done the same for all her friends when she was younger, always the maternal one of the bunch. It was then that he had kissed her. And not in the way a man kissed his mother, oh no, more like how a lad kissed a girl he liked.
It wasn't that Elisha didn't like him, far from it. She liked him a great deal. Being with him was helping her get over D'rian; she felt like a new woman with him. She was afraid though. Elisha, the Weyrwoman of great Telgar Weyr, the rider of the magnificent gold Adeloth was afraid of a love. It had come to bite her in the bum before, and while she didn't think V'rak would betray or intentionally hurt her, she never dreamed her old mate would either. Elisha was a busy woman, she had a lot of responsibility, and that might have what had broken up her past relationship. She knew she had to get over it soon or later, but she was a changed woman. Not that she was even sure his kiss was anything more but him being drunk and kissing her. Maybe he didn't even remember it!
She wanted to see him again reguardless. Elisha knocked at his weyr, the Weyrleader's Weyr. She hadn't been inside there since that fateful day when she found- She shook her head. As if she would find the same scene! That would be proposterous! Yet she couldn't help her feelings. Elisha wanted to share the evening getting closer with her Weyrleader.

V'rak looked up when he heard the door open. Yes, as usual, he was sitting at his desk going over the latest flight drill, R'net had had Triveni working on. It was fresh, to say the least.
Brilliant blue eyes sparkled a little with a smile that pulled at the corner of his lips as he stood almost instantly.
"Elisha, please come in."
He didn't remember Bitra Gather well, but he had been very informed by Bristith of what he'd done in his intoxicated state. Needless to say, he was just glad that the bronze had not left him there like he had threatened.
And... since V'rak had little memory of it, he had no reason to be perticularily embarassed about it either.
"Adeloth is well?" he inquired. Dragons first, as a rule. Though he hastily added, "And you as well, of course?"

Elisha stepped into his doorway and looked around. She was relieved to see the room looked different with it's different resident. She looked at V'rak, who looked pleased her, and she felt herself flush a little. Elisha found herself happy that he smiled a little at her. What a child she was like! I think you act cute, ElishaMine. Bristith's is good to make you happy again. Adeloth did not exactly understand the concept of love like humans did, and Elisha knew what 'happy' referred to and made her flush even more. The covered it up by turning from him a bit and looking around, "Nice, what you did to the place."
"Adeloth is lovely, as usual. I trust that Bristith is well?" Elisha turned back to him, her composure regained. She stepped to him, "I am very well, you are too?"

V'rak's smile twitched in place a little, widening to bare the white teeth behind the full lips.
"Good to hear," he said with a nod, "Bristith..is well.. Bristith." The bronze was insufferable as always. "And I am just fine. The Wings seem to be doing quite well. I gave them inspection last week." he explained uselessly, making small talk.
He stepped behind a large overstuffed chair and patted the seat with a hand, indicating for her to sit.
"Fresh Klah?" he offered. He'd had a pot brought up for himself while he worked. With the cooling weather, it was becoming an ever present neccessity.
I do not understand the way you work, Mine, the bronze grumbled from deeper in the Weyr. It vexes me that you're troubled with this,
"Troubled" was a loose term. Bristith had watched his Rider struggle with women and like affairs for some time. Limited to Flights. But otherwise, V'rak was useless when it came down to women.
Shhhh.. go back to sleep, but give Adeloth my regards, He grumbled back at his partner.

"Ah, yes." The Weyrleader was the one focused with the fighting wings, while she was the domestic counterpart. Should she ask him about it? Show interest in his job? One of her female friends once told her that men love talking about themselves. She asked innocently enough, "So how did that go?" Dumb, dumb, dumb! She mentally scolded herself. Why did she say that?
"Klah? Sure, why not, but just one cup, I should think."

The Weyrleader patted the seat once again, almost insistant that she sit before he moved to pour the klah. V'rak didn't like to talk about himself, but he did take pride in his job. "It went as well as can be expected I suppose," he chuckled shamelessly.
Everyone seemed busy it seemed, with Gathers, women, conclaves, never ending lists of tasks. He had his back to her while he spoke, but he turned to take her the cup of steaming klah.
Only after she had the cup did he lean his rump against the edge of his desk to savour the hot liquid, blue eyes watching her over the rim. It was curious how a bit of wine could loosen a man's tongue and bring out his ambitions. Curious indeed. However, for now he would stay away from the wine.....

Elisha took the seat that he clearly wanted her to take. It was a very comfortable chair and she found herself scooting in and feeling secure in it. She could see herself falling asleep, so the klah would help greatly. She let him serve her, though she felt like she should pour it. She drank some, but the silence was killing her. She wanted to talk, to bond, to, to, to do unspeakable things.
After a moment she said softly, "V'rak, what did you mean with your kiss? I mean, I'm not against it, I just need to know if it meant anything, or if it was just in the moment or, or," She bit her lip and looked down at her cup into the dark contents. She hoped feverently it wasn't just a drunken mistake. That would just pull her heartstrings too much.

The Weyrleader was satisfied that she both took the seat and the klah. However, her straightforward approach rattled him a bit so much thathe nearly dropped his klah. He set it on the desk in a seemingly composed manner.
Calm down, dearest, Bristith soothed. Just tell her the truth. Is it so hard?
You've no idea, V'rak replied.
But, he drew himself up. She'd sent D'rian away. A thought never far from any man's mind when they dealt with Elisha. D'rian had been a big part of her life. V'rak knew this..yet... why was it that he found that so fascinating?
Blue eyes glanced at her breifly before flicking to look at the toes of his boots. He needed to think.
"Elisha...I..." A darn, he was already going to studder. He cleared his throat. "I.. I'm not the type of person who does rash things without meaning..even while under the influence of wine," he smiled a little at his own humility. "You are a beautiful and strong woman," the Weyrleader gave a shrug, What wasn't there for a man to like? He adjusted his rump against the desk, shifting his stance slightly.
"I have no intent of replacing D'rian, unless-" he stopped himself, stammering an apology instantly. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

She watched his face and thought about his words. Was he saying he didn't want to be with her? But his words seemed to think she was still stuck on D'rian, and that was why he wouldn't interfere with that. Sure D'rian was the father of Elirian, he was her first real love, the man she thought she'd hold forever, but now she was starting to realize, he was just a man, and he didn't treat her right, and they weren't together any more so it was time to move on. And why not with V'rak? She stood from her spot and walked over to him just as he spouted off, Unless...
She kissed him, they were both sober, and she put her arms about his neck. Elisha kissed him again, "But it's you, I want, V'rak. D'rian is in my past. Are you in my future?"

V'rak barely got that word out before it was eaten by soft lips. For a moment, he was merely stunned, Bristith giving a contented grumble of draconic laughter at his rider's surprise. Her second soft kiss elicited a better reaction, the initial shock smoothing away like the way her fingers smoothed over the skin of his neck.
Her words didn't surprise him as much, not after the action of her kiss, and he simply answered with a kiss of his own, a little more forceful than her own soft kisses, hands pulling her feminine curves against his harder toned body.
She could take that as a positive.

Elisha smiled a little, getting from his body language that he was all for it. She pulled herself closer to him and her fingers play with the hair at the base of his hairline. It had been a long time, and now she was really comfortable with him, and prepared to give all of herself to him, a true weyrmates. She took his kisses and caresses as a signal he wanted that too. She kissed him back, pushing him more into the desk. It had been a long time since she felt this way out of dragonlust, and she was glad to actually find some one like V'rak. She had never realized she was so lonely. She wanted him to hold her, she wanted to be his. It just felt right to her. Elisha started to kiss his neck and let her hands wander down his toned shoulders. The body of a dragonrider never ceased to please her. Toned and muscular, she bet dragonmen must be the best looking males on all of Pern. And she practically had her pick! She looked up at him, and then grinned , and then looked twords where his bed would be. She played with his hand in hers while she kissed him more passionately than before.

V'rak's blood ran like lava through his viens, heating every part of him. It was the kind of sensation that made people want to strip. Telgar wasn't the nicest of weathery conditions that warranted for such activities of stripping, yet under certain circumstances....
Elisha's caresses sent shivers through his body, like small electric shocks that got the softest of groans from him, his pulse throbbing under her searching lips. Her smaller hand in his, playing against the constrasting softness from ioling and the calluses from working. He halted her easy playing with a simple squeeze, his fingers sliding between hers, pressing palms together. The desk gave a little, shifting under the weight of them leaning on it, and the Weyrleader took her hint. His lips curled into a smile, a slightly different light shining in those blue eyes.
The large bronze, still chortling in amusement, shifted deeper in the Weyr, turning to drop off his ledge to find his Queen. She would be flying again soon and he had no intention of letting her out of his sight meanwhile.

Elisha grinned at him mischeiviously, and stood a little away from him, but still holding his hands. She led him backwards, tugging at his hands like an eager child, wanting to hurry up. Nothing felt more right to her. Perhaps now they would become weyrmates, in public and in private life. She wanted to lay her claim on him before some pesky greenrider moved in, like last time. But most of all, she felt that she loved him, not even just infatuated. This feeling had to be genuine, not the passion, but the feeling she had before.
The bed was soft, and she at on the edge of it, looking up at him, her greenish-hazel eyes twinkling a bit. She pulled him too her, knowing now that they felt the same about eachother. She figured it would be nice to remember their intimate times as well. . .
She only hoped that he wouldn't think it was her acting because of a proddy gold. Sure it was close to Adeloth's rising, but not quite yet.

V'rak didn't even make a connection of Elisha's actions and her Gold. The dragons were, in fact, the furthest thing from his mind. He followed Elisha obeidiently when she tugged. Something inside him had to admit that he was jealous when other bronzes got too close to Elisha. And that wasn't just a dragon jealousy either. It was genuine jealousy. As if Elisha was already his.
It was unfounded until now.
His tall frame bent under her beckoning, his face tilting in the slightest manner to allow lips to brush over the soft skin of her cheek, his breath warm in the chilled air. His face moved, brushing lips across the skin until they found the softer flesh of her neck, where he began to caress.

She closed her eyes, his soft kisses felt so nice on her skin. Elisha slid back, further on to the bed, and beckoned him to her with a flourish of her hand. She was too happy in this moment, too ready for sweet surrender to let him just kiss her neck. Elisha was so sure now that she wanted only him for herself, and she couldn't wait to show him that. She leaned back on his pillows, and was greatful that he had warm looking furs on his bed.
She had known that some people talked about the intimacy, or the lack thereof, between the Weyrleaders. Later, she would be certain that this would only cement their professional union and make them better leaders, but as for right now, she could only think of V'rak and how much she cared for him.
