F'lyn had to get out of the Weyr, and so wandered over to the lake. He took slow, ambling strides that made him look like he was gliding over the grass. The air was crisp, and he loved it; just like he loved the feeling of the grass under his feet. Shoes were clutched in one hand, the other swinging through the slight breeze that rustled the leaves of the trees off to one side. He glanced at them longingly, but continued on to the lake. Sitting in trees was nice, but water always helped sooth his nerves better.
Cseroth trotted along behind him, tail trailing in the grass, swishing left and right. His wings were lifted up, as they were yet still to big to curl into his sides and move swift enough to keep up with his rider. F'lyn moved quickly, even when ambling. Even with the attempt to keep his wings up and away, they still managed to get under his claws. The Blue was used to it, but it still hurt when he took a tumble.
The Bluerider twisted aound to perch his free hand on his hip and stare at the tangled dragonet. He huffed a strange laugh and moved to help. As he knelt to start tugging at a claw, his mind drifted elsewhere.
Weyrling life wasn't bad. Sure, it was a bit busy, but most of the people were nice enough. Not many things had happened between them, and the only things that were worth mentioning were all caused by one person. F'lyn rolled his eyes. He was pretty sure the one had started the rumor he'd heard, but there was some supporting evidence to make him think it might be true. Rumor had it that K'sah and P'len had been seen one night together. While he didn't think it was much of anything, he did shift through what he knew. Both of the boys were up a lot during the night. K'sah because he was a light sleeper, and P'len because...well, he didn't know. But the bronzerider seemed like he was always up doing something. F'lyn didn't know the orientatioin of either - he didn't much care to get close to many - the little greenrider was obviously homosexual. And he'd taken a recent liking to P'len; he was always smiling at him, talking to him, generally around him. Of couse, that could just be a new friendship...but still.
Mine! That hurts! I am more interested in what your hands are doing rather than your mind, Cseroth drew him back to the present. F'lyn sighed and carefully restarted his work, though the little dragon was almost close to tearing a hole through his own wing. The Blue was naturally a calm dragon, but when he got tangled up like this, he got a bit fidgety.
