When K'sah's hand jumped out to touch his, P'len had watched with detached curiosity. And when the boy finished speaking, P'len pulled his hand away, and reached over K'sah's shoulders and pulled him into a one armed man hug.
"Don't worry then. Make friends, and if D'leon wants to mess with one of them, me and him can have a chat. We were going to have to anyway."
The boy seemed a little too frightened of his brother, and exposing anyone to his brother, so P'len added in that he was already going to have to do something about D'leon. He hoped it would make K'sah feel more at ease.
"So, who do you want to meet first?" P'len asked that with a little grin, and the feeling that he'd found another little brother. He wondered what his youngest brother(and for that, his younger sister) would think of K'sah, and thought maybe he ought to introduce the Greenrider to his family. Faranath knew he needed some sort of healthy family.

At the mention that P'len intended to confront his brother anyway, the greenrider lost any stiffness he had at first and just sort of melted into the other's hug. Tentatively he snaked an arm around his waist and leaned into him, treating him more like a giant teddy bear than a lover. Though that little grin of his did make his heart skip a bit. K'sah was entirely too easy to win over, but he'd promised V'nes...
Shaking that thought, he pursed his lips slightly and thought. "I don't know," he spoke with a bit more confidence, most of the stutter dropping away. He wanted to formally meet Neory, if just to apologize for her being the most recent target of his brother's. Though he had the idea that P'len might not like the reasoning behind wanting to meet her.
Who else was there? A few other greenriders, and that other boy...what was his name? "G'eph?" it was more of him seeking confirmation that it was his name, though would invariably be taken as the person he wanted to meet next. Though from how the brownrider had looked at him that one time in the Barracks, he wasn't sure the other approved of him enough to befriend him.

"G'eph." P'len said slowly, as though he was tasting the name, and remembering everything he knew about it.
"Well, he seems like a nice enough fellow. I don't know him very well either, so he sounds just perfect." P'len gave K'sah a slight squeeze, reacting to the childlike boy melting into his arms. It was the first time a guy had ever done that, but hey- P'len had been raised in the Weyr. He was comfortable with all of this.
"And from what I heard about that fight he had with D'leon, he can take care of himself." The little chuckle he gave was short and tasteful.
"So, what do you say we do that tomorrow, and we go and get some sleep now?a Tomorrow is going to be a long day."

The little squeeze made him smile and dare to snuggle into his side, seeking the offered comfort. Sure, he could definately become attracted to P'len, but even if he did, nothing would come of it. His actions were more like a child than anything else.
Keeping that in mind, his next words could be taken in a more appropriate way. "I don't think I could sleep alone, so I'll think I'll just sleep here by the fire," he'd quickly gotten used to this admitting thing, as P'len had done nothing to shatter the new, complete, infant-like trust he had in the other. He meant his words more as a request that P'len stay with him where they were, rather than how D'leon would have taken it.
And how D'leon did take it. The bronzerider has woken and noticed his brother missing. There was another cot empty, and so of course he'd decided to investigate. He was rather glad he had. The rumors would be quite tasty. He didn't approve of P'len, and so felt the need to prevent any kind of relationship between the other bronzer and his brother.
