It had been a long day for the Triveni Blue Rider, and Jeyna was more than glad that it was over and time for a good meal and then just a relaxing evening. Practice had been good, but hard, and then Ragoth had been particularly stubborn about getting washed. She was seriously considering another run this evening, just to relax.
Dressed comfortably in looseish black pants and a snug sweater of white, the Blue Rider half fell into her seat at Triveni's tables and looked to see if the food was about to be served. She looked to the Rider beside her and smiled, "After today, I hope we a pretty harty dinner tonight." Some aspect of her mannerisms tended to be a bit masculine, but her feminity was still pretty clear. "Think I'm going to want something stronger than klah."
She glanced over to the headtable to see if they've been served yet. The sooner the rankers had food, the sooner the rest of them would get some. "Gah, that new formation they have us trying out. That's going to take some work."

One of the younger riders, a woman, had sat next to him. D'ian didn't mind, though he wasn't the best conversationalist. Perhaps 'best' wasn't the word... more like 'the least likely' conversationalist. He was actually quite eloquent and serious when he did choose to speak. The female rider had said something about the meal, and he nodded in agreement, not really speaking other than an audible grunt. He could use a thick stew and good bread tonight. When she spoke of her desire for something stronger than klah, he looked sideways at her in a nonchalant manner. A clearly female rider, and as he noticed her knots- She is blue Ragoth's. Stronth rumbled.
"Not many women wish to drink anything stronger than the klah the lowercavrens women brew. I've heard anything stronger puts hair on your chest. I suppose that's why very few women voice it." The brownrider said, with almost no expression on his face. That was what made him a good poker player, however, many people didn't know what to think of it when speaking to him. He followed her eyes to the head table. Over the years he had gotten to know Marisol, and they had been friends even. Yet, he got the feeling that she wasn't looking for a friend up there, the ranking riders were fed first.
"Yeah, we'll have plenty of tired nights coming up." He said absent mindedly, and then added hastily, "Because of that new formation practice."

Jeyna chuckled at his response to her comment for wanting something stronger than Klah. "Just because I'm a blue female, doesn't mean that I'm butch." Well, just barely. "So no hair on the chest for me. I was thinking something more along the lines of ale."
She grinned to the man, not flirting, just being friendl. There weren't many in the wing she didn't know, though the wing was fairly big so it was impossible to know everyone. Brown Stronth's. Thanks, love. "I don't think I've gotten a chance to meet you. I'm Jeyna. And I'm sure your Stronth told you that I ride Ragoth just as Ragoth informed me you're Stronth's."
She glanced back again, "Ah, good. They're serving the head table." She returned her attention back to him, "So what do you think of the new formation?"

'What a day' J'ren came into the dining hall freshly washed for dinner. He was looking forward to sitting down for the first time since before noon.
There was nothing that made you work so hard, except you. You'll learn that you don't need to impress anyone. You are my rider after all, I chose you and that should be enough
Dragon logic, in its simplicity it always seemed perfect and flawless. If everything were so simple.
J'ren sat down to join the others at the Triveni Wing table. Jeyna he recognized, and the other one a brown rider he couldn't remember D'ian, of brown Stronth Gliath was quick to prompt him
He gave them a friendly greeting and sat down a few seats away, not wanting to intrude if they were having a private conversation

V'rak sat almost beaming at the complaints of his Trivenis. Oh my my, R'net was putting them through their paces. He was sure R'net would make an excellent Wingleader some day.
The blue eyes lingered on his former table and wingmates. He was proud of them, no doubt, yet he did miss their chatter. His gaze barely shifted when food was set before him, so distracted he was he barely succeeded in mumbling a thanks to the drudge before she went off.
You still mean as much to them, you know, Bristith encouraged him.
I know, he grumbled back picking up a sthingy to begin to dig into his food to try to distract himself.
He was curious now, to see this new formation R'net had had them drill. It might prove to be interesting, and as well as filling a slot of his time...
[Sthingy!]

D'ian nodded polietly and said calmly, "It is a pleasure to meet you, Jenya. I am D'ian, and of Stronth, like you have said." He didn't mind pleasantries, just sometimes it was so tedious. It was much better once you got past them. Maybe that was why he stuck to his usual group and not too much out of it. The silence after introductions while those involved sought to find a topic to talk about was always the worst. "The head table? Uh, yes, not to long for ourselves now."
What did he think about the new formation? He had merely took it was his job to do it. It wasn't in his nature to complain. In fact, sometimes people asked him if he even had opinions. He thought a moment, "I think it couldn't hurt too much. We've never experienced thread before, so really the real test will be out in the skies. I think any well prepared formation will be help. Just as long as we know what we're doing, there shouldn't be fatalities due to stupid mistakes." He hadn't mean that to be harsh, but rather just a serious consideration. "It may be more complicated than we need, but maybe it will turn out to be a good weapon."
He nodded to J'ren since the other man made the first greeting. He wasn't familiar with the young man, but D'ian wasn't that secluding.

Jeyna waved down to J'ren, not sure if he sat a few seats away because he was waiting on someone or because he didn't want to interrupt - an odd attitude for a Bronze Rider, but Triveni tended to encourage comradeship that went beyond issues of rank. "You can join us if you're not waiting for someone yourself, J'ren." She grinned and turned her attention back to D'ian.
"Come on, you can't tell me, D'ian, that you're not hungry after today's practice. I know those sitting at the head table deserve to be served first - shards knows I wouldn't want their job or responsibility, but I worked up quite an appentite and am glad to see we'll be eating soon." Even as she spoke the wing tables began to be served and she grinned as she saw the platters being passed down.
"I have to admit, I like the new formation. It seems to take advantage of everyone's strengths, while taking into account each dragon's weaknesses. The biggest danger, I think, is that we blue and green riders finally get a chance to show our stuff - which is great. As long as no one gets a little over zealous and tries to take all the glory, show boating could be a danger when us lower rankers finally get to show just how important we are." She grinned, "Though I think most of us can fight the urge."
"A couple of more practices without firestone to make sure no one gets stupid and I think we'll be great. Our wingseconds did a really good job coming up with that one."

D'ian chuckled, "I would tell you that, but then I would be lying, and I'm a pretty honest fellow." He frowned in thought, "So I guess I wouldn't say anything at all. Although food would be appreciated by my stomach." He was happy the food trays were heading his way now.
D'ian listened to her ramble on. (In truth she wasn't really rambling, but to some one such as D'ian, well when a woman kept talking it was rambling.) He grinned a little at the comment about the blues and greens being showoffs. It was typically the bronzes. He imagined over half the Weyr show boating and nearly laughed. "It's not a bad formation. Probably, though, the ones who try stunts will the be younger riders. And even a few more practices with out stone couldn't hurt too much."

J'ren decided to take up the invite and move down to join the others. "The new formation? Yeah, I think it is going to work very well." He nodded to Jeyna. He caught a wiff of the food being passed down and his stomach gave an audible rumble he was sure the entire room heard.
He tried to think of something to say, anything to keep his mind off his stomach for just a few more moments. "D'ian, how are you getting on with Stronth?"
