Drunk was an understatement when it came to Rory's current state. His sister had dissapeared for a few minutes, trying to get something to help him clear his head. He didn't want his head clear. It was nice in this fog, almost comfortable.
He wouldn't go to his room tonight, he needed to be with other people. Allior would never deny him a place to sleep. Plus the kids would be there, that was always fun with a hangover. Rory didn't care about anything anymore. Now that people had left the Hall he had come down to the caverns, mostly with his sister's help. No doubt she had gone to get someone to help drag Rory home.
"There you are!" Allior came running, with a 'friend' of hers. "I thought I told you not to move." "I moved?" Rory laughed. After all he was finiding everything very very funny. Al rolled her eyes and motioned for the man to help her. They were going to have to get him settled.
"I don' feel ssso hot." Rory spoke, looking a bit woozy. Normally he had a limit and didn't pass it. This was a bad night. Allior looked a bit too concerned. He didn't want help if that was how it was going to be. "Ssstop lookin at me like that. If your gonna be that way you can leave." Rory didn't want to be babysitted. Allior knew his mood. If she stayed he force her to leave him so she grabbed the other man's hand and walked away, shaking her head as she went.
Rory knew what he looked like but he couldn't stop. He had never wanted to drown himself in his wine this much. He wish he had actually drowned. Then all this would be over. Here he was wandering about the Lower Caverns being self destructive again. He was close to his quarters...they were in a that way ish direction. If the floor would stay still it wouldn't take him too long.

Venaru had heard some ruckus and had thrown on a cloak over her sleeping skins. She opened the door to her room where she saw a man, obviously drunk, and a sober looking couple helping him. She narrowed her eyes, she knew the woman well enough to put a name to the face. Before she could call out to Allior she had left with her man and there sat the drunken one. She narrowed her eyes to gaze at him. He looked vaguely familiar, but no one she knew very well.
She shut her door, and stood in front of it with her arms crossed, gazing at the man like a hungry hawk gazed at a feild mouse. She was unsmiling, and stood rather stiff and ridgidly. She cleared her throat. "Ahem. Do you mind? Do you mind going to your own rooms and shutting up? Some of us have early days and cannot afford to miss any sleep over your shinanigans. What's your name?"

Oh the torches were so blurry, how was one to see anything down here. It was then that he registered that a woman was speaking, rather angrily at him. "I AM going to my room. I think its that way." The latter part he said almost inaudibly as if speaking to himself. "Rory. "
Just what he needed some aggravated female. " Look if you and all the other meddlesome females would just leave me alone, I can get on with whats left of my life." Thats right. What was left of his life? He had his job, some fun friends and more importantly wine. Wine never let you down, it didn't change or get angry or even tell one what to do. Wine was always there through thick and thin... unlike people.
"I wish I were dead..." Rory muttered to himself. If he were dead all the pain would be gone. He wouldn't have to feel anything ever again.

The man accented the AM a bit more boldly and her eyebrows raised and her hands moved to her hips. She caught his mumbled words, and it amused her slightly, though the grin on her face was more cruel than entertained. She said coldly, "Then I suggest you get a move on."
If that wasn't bad enough, he called her and her sex meddlesome. She harumphed and her eyes flashed then narrowed again at him. She said with a cold laugh, "Aye, a life of drinking yourself to death. What a productive way to use your time." Venaru was a firm believer that if you were going to stay anywhere, you'd better be useful. She had no patience for lazyarses and wanderers.
"Me too." She said sarcastically. She didn't really mean it, but she didn't hesitate to say it. "Now, where are your rooms?"

The man just rolled his eyes at her. Annoying people... just what he needed. Why couldn't he have bumped into an amiable person? It was just his luck. That was it he was sick of people on a power trip around here. No doubt this woman outranked him but so did most of the Weyr. It didn't mean he needed to be talked down to. Normally Rory was quite amiable when drunk but his prior mood had prevailed.
"Look lady, I've got no time for some woman on a power trip. I've had enough of people for one day and if you think its so disgusting that I exist I'd prefer you to leave me the fall alone!" With that he tried walking further down the cavern. "My room, is that way." He pointed in the direction he was headed, the direction of more drudge rooms.
It wasn't like she couldn't go back to bed. He was trying to get to his. People needed to mind their own bussiness. Meddlesome females...

Venaru was outraged. Utterly outraged. She was not in a good mood, and she was not at all impressed with Rory. He was a drudge in her eyes. She was better than him and she wanted him to see that. Venaru wanted respect, and if she could, she'd love to punish him for his insolence. As it was, there was no one around to take her orders, and she sure as fall couldn't just go up to him and slap him. He was already walking away. "Insolent fool. You will pay for that." One day. She added mentally to herself, knowing she did not yet have much power yet. She would have to gain favor with the headwoman, and eventually succeed her to have the power she so dreamed of. But one day, she'd get Rory back. Stupid dimglow drunk. She added to herself, perhaps insulting him in her mind made her feel better.
She followed him down the hall, though she did not stumble or swagger. She wore a scowl on her face, she was not in a happy mood at all, that much was clear. Maybe she could get a rider to aid her to get back at him...

"Oh I doubt that." Rory said. No punishment or prank would make him feel worse than he already felt. She could kick him while he was down but really, if he was already down it made little difference. He was just becomming more angry as the woman followed him. "Why are you following some drunk around like a lost puppy, don't you have some rider to seduce..." He was insulting her on purpose. He was trying to push people away. Rory wanted nothing to do with them.
He rounded the corner, albeit slowly. Rory remembered his room was at the end of this corridor. If only he hadn't gotten so drunk, normally he would never have gotten to this point. It was too late to think about that now. His head was foggy and he was beginning to get very sleepy.

Rider to seduce. . . Venaru frowned deeper. Her personal life was her personal life, and the way he said it-so casually, like she did it all the time! There was only one rider she had an eye on right now, and she wasn't going to mess everything up by seducing him right off the bat. She wanted a bit of a courtship-why was she defending herself at this moment?! "I'm following you so that I know you get to your room with out problems." Plus it might be good to see where you sleep. She mused to herself, and then said out lout, "I want to make sure you're not disrupting any one else. Is it against the rules to care a little bit?" She sneered.

"No one cares about anyone else anymore... people are too selfish..." Rory replied and continued toward his rooms. He found the handle of his door, turning it gradually. Home sweet home. Right. Well at least he'd be sleeping in his bed for once.
Rory walked in to his room yawning. Exhaustion was about to set in though he wouldn't know it. He kicked off his shoes and managed to get his shirt off. However, ee didn't make it to his bed and ended up collapsing on the floor, only feet away.
