Rory left his room after bathing and thinking over the events of the evening before. Not only did he have to be silent about it all it meant he had to figure things out for himself. He walked into the Weyrhall, normal as can be. Rory was dressed well, with a dark blue shirt and black bottoms.
Taking a tray from one of the other drudges, he began to load it up with a new and almost overly zealous appetite. He was usually overly hungry when stressed out about things. He refused the wine, and took water instead and a cup of klah.
He wondered where he ought to sit when he saw a very familiar face. N'zule. Seeing him was almost too much after the night before. Rory stopped walking and just stood there. He felt foolish yes, but he couldn't bring himself to move.

N'zule was in a bad mood. No, that was inaccurate- N'zule was irritated, angry, and looking for a reason to be in a bad mood. There was a reason for these feelings of course- Delith's Flight would be a few days.
He was, however, looking for a fight. Well dressed, with tight brown pants, and a cool colored gray shirt, he cut a sight in the Weyrhall, wondering around, wanting no food, but looking for someone.
When N'zule caught sight of Rory, he smiled with an odd look. The Greenrider had found his next victim.
"See something you like?" He asked, his voice drawling, and his eyebrow raised. What his feelings were about the drudge was unknown, but he didn't seem to happy.

It wouldn't take much to push Rory to his limit today. He had enough stress on him at this point. At N'zule's statement he rolled his eyes.
"Still have the ego don't we?" Rory was sure the greenrider wouldn't hesistate to move on. That way he wouldn't notice Rory's little mark on his neck or the fact that there was no wine on his tray.
Rory needed to find someone else to fixate on but he was not prepared to do that now. Allior had said to take it slow. N'zule was going to make this a very bad day indeed.
Rory was not in a good mood. It was a rare day that Rory would grow angry quickly. Sadly for N'zule, he had no idea what kind of mood Rory was in.

"Isn't ego if it's true." N'zule responded with a smirk, carefully running his hands through his hair. The whole set of his body suggested that he was perfectly aware that he looked good, and wasn't ashamed of it.
Sauntering forward, N'zule could see something was different about Rory. The wine part didn't make him pause, probably because he wasn't thinking about drinking, but the red mark on his neck wasn't going to pass similarly unnoticed. Leaning forward, and using his hand to move the cloth away to look at the mark more closely.
"Ah- found someone willing to sleep with you?" The tone of voice suggested exactly who the Greenrider expected to be with someone like Rory. "Feeling a bit territorial, was he?"

Two could play that game, Rory thought to himself. He may not have N'zule's attractive coloring, but Rory was quite the catch himself, drudgery and all. He wouldn't let N'zule tear him down just because he was a rider.
"She." He corrected N'zule and said little more than that. He wouldn't add insult to injury, especially when N'zule had no idea that it was his neice. It was rather ironic though. Rory made no move to brush N'zule's hand away. "Not that it much matters. It was only a one time thing."
He gave N'zule a more devious look than he had in a long time, as if he was more than willing to go head to head with the man. He was challenging for once. "Not everyone enjoys the company of Bronze riding Wingeseconds."

N'zule snapped his hand away, and glared at the other man. How in the name of the dragons had Rory found out about that? Sure, he hadn't exactly been in a private place, but it had happened late at night. But that wasn't the point- Rory wasn't getting away with that statement.
"Maybe some of us just can't keep the attention of anyone." N'zule offered, with a smirk. "Male or female, ranker or not, Rider or not. I'm glad I don't have that problem." He was referring to Rory saying that it had been a one time thing. N'zule, knowing Rory fairly well, doubted that the man had gone with the girl thinking it would only last a night. Rory didn't do that.
"Oh Rory." N'zule laughed. "How can you make decisions on things you've never tried? I mean, I'm sure you'd be nervous to be in the company of a Wingsecond, but maybe, if you tried really hard, you wouldn't sound like an ignorant bumpkin, and we wouldn't have to laugh at you."
"Now, are you going to help me carry my food over to the table or not?" Yes, N'zule was aware that Rory had been about to go eat, and yes, N'zule wasn't even that hungry, and yes, there was food already placed at Pyralis Wing's Table- but that didn't mean anything.

"Or perhaps I've grown tired of long relationships and feel they turn stale..." It wasn't far from the truth. Though, Rory was trying mostly to protect the subject of last night and not reveal anything about the person involved.
Rory quirked an eyebrow. He took in everything that N'zule said. The man couldn't possibly know what was going on in Rory's head. The drudge had never been the tempermental sort, dulled down by wine.
"What possessed you to possibly think I'd want to help you. A greenrider with no friends, a wing who only wants to use you and a wingsecond who you can't possibly have a future with. What right do you have to talk down to me! I at least can carry my own SHARDING FOOD! HERE HAVE SOME!" He took his tray, tilted it and shoved it onto N'zule's shirt.

N'zule had expected Rory to be angry. He'd expected Rory to yell and shout. In short, N'zule had expected everything except food being shoved onto his shirt. And if there was one thing you knew about N'zule preflight, it was not to mess with his personal space.
N'zule was not a violent guy. At least not normally.
But two things were always true about N'zule- one, N'zule always had a temper before Flights, and two, Ex's always made him more temperamental than anyone else. So, all in all, it wasn't very surprising that N'zule didn't bother trying to act mature, and just took a swing at Rory's face, cursing wildly.

Rory hadn't thought N'zule would hit him but there it was, a punch. He got him good in the jaw. "YOU SHARDING...." He wasn't going to let N'zule have the upper hand in all this. Rory was by far the larger of the two and a wicked idea had sprung into his mind.
Using his strength and size he tackled N'zule to the ground. Rory hadn't much thought about what to do with him while he had him on the ground. Rory would never be violent.
He couldn't bring himself to punch N'zule. Rory did however pin N'zule's arms over his head. "Never hit me again." His voice wasn't loud in fact anyone watching would ahve to strain to hear. It was amazing to think that a sevenday ago, Rory would have walked away from this. Now he didn't mind confrontation, he wanted to be in control of his situation.

"No problem, you moonbrained son of a wherry." N'zule responded through gritted teeth. Rory was going down- this behavior wouldn't have been acceptable in their- his weyr, much less on the ground the crowded Weyrhall.
Up went his leg- not aiming for his ex's sensitive bits, but for his gut instead. After that blow was completed, N'zule began struggling to get up. He was surprised his wing hadn't come and thrown this pyscho-drudge off yet, but sometimes they got caught up in fights and didn't realize things. It didn't matter- this bastard was going down, and N'zule was making sure of it, no matter what they did to him.
For some strange reason, N'zule attempted to avoid hitting Rory, but slapping, biting, and kicking was all acceptable free himself.

Sh'ran came up in a hurry, never missing a good fight, and helped N'zule by trying to rip Rory off of the man. The bluerider's fierce pride in his wing, and his fiery temper, caused him to be protective of his wingmates. He and N'zule were friends, though nothing more. N'zule was a good man, a good rider, and competent. Sh'ran didn't think that N'zule would strike with out reason, but then again, every one has their reasons, it doesn't have to be good or right. The bluerider had a firm grip on Rory's shoulders now, "Come on now, get off of the man,"

He was shocked by the kick at first but quickly got over that it had happnened. He was concerned when he coughed up a little blood. Rory wouldn't let that stop him though. Unfortunately another rider picked him up and took him away from his quarry. The look on his face was perfectly clear. He wasn't going to back down.
"And you call yourself a dragonrider... having one of your wingmates help you out. What you can't handle a simple drudge?"He taunted. Rory dodged a good number of the kicks but the bite marks on his body proved that he certainly wasn't invincible.
He had no choice in the matter he had to get this other man off of him. Rory bit down on the dragonrider's hand. "You don't want to be in this. Its between me and N'zule unless you make it otherwise." If he had to, there were plenty of drudges about that could help him.

"Let him alone Sh'ran. I can handle the simpleton on my own." N'zule's face was disfigured by a look of hatred, disdain, and anger. He turned his attention back to Rory.
"While I'm sure you don't understand the concept of a wingmember helping another wingmember, be sure to know that I can take you alone." The rider might have been smaller by a good three inches, but that wasn't going to stop him.
"Come here- I'll let you strike the first blow so that you can at least claim you got one punch in." N'zule didn't promise he would strike the drudge after he hit him- but he would allow the blow to connect first.
The greenrider stalked forward until he was standing right in front of Rory, and he waited, uncomfortably aware that his shirt was ruined, and that his nose was probably bleeding, though it didn't feel broken.

Rory wasn't a simple person, by any means. When Sh'ran finally let go of him he was quiet. Unlike N'zule, Rory was trying to control his emotions. He wasn't going to take N'zule up on that offer. "No, of course I wouldn't. I'm a simple drudge..." Rory answered N'zule, quite content to be who he was and in no way was Rory jealous of the riders. At least he wouldn't have to fight thread.
The drudge coughed a moment, a little blood coming up again. Then he spoke very clearly and loud enough for people to hear. "How nice of you to offer me a sort of consolation prize. I'm not a dimglow N'zule and it would be cowardly to hit anyone under those conditions." Rory wished he weren't so chivalrous sometimes. No doubt the Greenrider would be able to twist this all around to make Rory out to be the one doing wrong. As usual. Everytime something wasn't working it was Rory's fault. He kept giving and giving and all N'zule did was take...
Rory turned away from N'zule, sure he was leaving himself open for attack. He didn't know how honorable N'zule would be in a fight. To attack a person with their back to you was pretty low. Then again, N'zule was much angrier than he had ever seen him. Rory was dimly aware of blood running from the corner of his lower lip and the pain in his middle. Allior was going to kill him if N'zule didn't.

"Don't you dare turn your back to me." N'zule seethed, moving his shorter body in front of Rory. The rider was infuriated- how could that drudge even think to not do as he said?
"Are you too much of a coward to fight me?" Hands shaking with barely contained rage, the Greenrider glared at his ex-mate. In his eyes, by refusing to fight with him meant one of two things. Either Rory didn't consider him a challenge(and that was something that would not lead to a good ending), or he was a coward. And nothing less than a fight, or Rory admitting to being a coward was going to satisfy him.
Though usually one to consider consequences, N'zule wasn't worried at this point. Cleaning the latrines, or being forced to work as a drudge didn't phase him. And he couldn't think of many things worse than those options.
