R'net sat in his desk, looking completely at home. As he always did when it was time for Wing interviews, he'd spruced up his room a little, and made it look more professional. The couch had been placed up against a wall, and cleaned, the desk had been moved so that when he sat in it, he could watch both entrances to his weyr, and the wood had been polished.
Even the floor looked nicer, though that probably had to do with some of the throw rugs that had been found at the Istan Gather. The room was warm, and R'net was ready to start the exhausting chore of Wing Interviews. It was useful, every Ranker worth their salt knew that, but it didn't keep them from being boring.
Torenth, remember what to do? The rider's mental voice was rather teasing, and the Bronze grumbled from his place in the sun of the fire heights.
Ragoth, Mine requests Your's presence at his Weyr. Have Yours use whichever entrance is faster for Yours. The words hadn't been mapped out, but the Bronze remembered what to say. After all, the interviews happened a lot.

Torenth's Rider needs you to come to his weyr. Torenth said to use whichever entrance is faster.
Jenya frowned slightly. Was it time for her Wing interview already. Ugh. Oh well. Thank you, dearest. Let them know I'm on my way.
Ragoth would pass that on to Torenth Mine is on her way.
Jenya was a runner, and so she ran to the Wingsecond's weyr. It was no secret that she ran every morning, so she figured that if she dawdled, he'd notice it. And that would be a bad way to start the interview.
She stopped outside the door and took a deep breath, just to make sure she wasn't panting. She had been oiling Ragoth when she got the call, so she was dressed in a simple pair of snug pants and and a close fitting white shirt.
"You asked to see me, Wingsecond?"

"Hello Jeyna." R'net's smile was genuine. He liked most of his wingmates, and Jeyna was a female rider, and hence someone the bronzerider liked.
"I suppose you've already guessed we're having interviews again, so if you'll have a seat we can begin." The man, who'd stood when she'd entered, had sat back down. The chair sitting in front of his desk was rather obvious, though occasionally, a rebellious rider would choose his couch. Usually those were the ones who were being transferred, and he doubted that Jeyna was one of those.
After she'd made herself comfortable, R'net began with the general question.
"How are things going for you right now?"
Thank you Ragoth. Torenth was careful about his manners, and the blue had relayed his message well.

Jeyna did indeed take the chair, and her usually flirtatiousness was even held in check - as she did know when it was appropriate and when not.
She did smile as he called her by her name, an indication to her that there were no major problems to be aware of, and that this would not be a particularly painful interview. She relaxed a tad.
"Everything is going well. I have been enjoying the Wing exercises." Which was quite true. Jenya looked forward to the challenge of Thread and understood that the exercises were something which were crucial to preparing for that coming time.
She smiled a bit, "I've tried to make a point to learn which Green Riders do not appreciate bedding a woman, to try to make sure Ragoth does not even try for those flights, though I fear that I have not succeeded in every case." That would be her biggest complaint, there were far too many Greenriders who exclusively preferred males, though she was able to find plenty to bed with among the lower caverns and the Brown riders who saw her as a challenge.
She thought for a moment, "I've been able to run most every morning, and I find that most of the wing has accepted the oddity of a Female Blue Rider." Most was key there, though she had developed a much tougher skin that she had had as a Weyrling.

Since that had gone well, it was time for the slightly more personal, as well as the specific questions. R'net relaxed- it was doubtful that the Bluerider would have any issues.
"Any specific riders giving you trouble?" He asked, interested. While female Bluerider's weren't that common, and one hadn't Impressed since a few turns before Mari retired, he hadn't known that any rider would give a girl trouble.
"Had any problems with your family lately?" There seemed to be a distinct memory of her being the one pushed into impressing, and then shock at her Impressing Blue, and not Green. It was something that had been noted in her file, though not brought up before.
"Also, have you seen any Wingmembers who might be need of any help?" It was a standard question, just to get a feel for how much everyone trusted the other. These interviews were confidential, and it was a good place to let out worries.

Jeyna frowned a bit. The last thing she wanted to do was "tattle" but she also understood how important it was for the wing to get along. "It wasn't trouble persay. Ragoth caught Idana's Green Erenth. She... she was not particularly happy to wake up beside me." Jenya rarely shared with anyone the difficulties that came with being a female and riding a Blue. The male Green riders generally prefered their own gender, while the female ones did not.
She laughed a bit and waved a hand in the air, "Its nothing, Sir. I'm used to it by now. There are plenty among the weyrfolk who are more than willing to share their bed with me."
She really had not wanted to discuss that part of her life at all. That was the kind of thing to think of in the morning, during her runs when she was alone, and Ragoth usually left her to herself since he couldn't make sense of his rider's thoughts.
She chuckled at the question about her family, "No, my family is fine. They've long accepted that I'm a bit different from the rest of the family, and are just proud to have a Dragonrider. They're fine."
She was very glad when the heat was off her. She was not sure she remembered Wing Interviews being quite so intrusive, though she did understand the reason why. It was important when flying with the wing that no one was distracted.
"Uh... Brown Laerth's rider - L'sul - he's seemed a little distant lately. We were clutchmates. We've always been good friends. But lately, he's been kind... withdrawn. I'm worried about him."

R'net nodded, noting in his own shorthand the basic of both her answers. "I'll make sure to speak to L'sul." Or have the other Wingsecond do it- he couldn't remember which one had L'sul right then.
The wing interviews, thankfully, were very short. Well, unless the rider had a major problem that was- in which case the interview could take hours. Happy that this wasn't turning into one of those, he asked the finally question.
"Have you recently found out anything about your health that I'll need to know?" Technically, it would be a health problem that the two Wingseconds, and Wingleader would need to know about, but Jeyna was still his responsibility first. And some things wouldn't need to take up the Wingleader's time.
"Like, a pregnancy, or an infection." He hoped she wouldn't talk about a yeast infection. One of the Greenrider's had done that during the last set of interviews, and it had been one of the nastiest thing's he'd ever heard.

Jeyna raised an eyebrow at the infection question. There was something about the way he said it, maybe the pairing with pregnancy that amused her. She did not laugh at him. This was too formal a setting to laugh at him. But it was hard.
"I seriously doubt I'd ever know if I was pregnant, sir. Ragoth and I tend to practice too much, that I think I'd have to be grounded to get pregnant." And since she did not want to get pregnant she shrugged, "I'm perfeclty healthy as far as I know."

R'net stood, nodding his head. Offering the Bluerider his hand, he spoke.
"Well then, I pronouce you fit to continue in our Wing, as a rider." He smiled, and waved his arm in the direction of the door out of his Weyr.
"Have a nice day."
Short, sweet, and too the point. Just the way he liked his interviews.
Glancing down at his list, he wondered who was next for his interview, and called on Torenth to get them.
Today was going to be a long day.
