DAWNING OF A NEW ERA
Waiting and more waiting. Thats what they had been doing. For what? Thread. The coming of their worst enemy. Understrength, understaffed and undernourished Weyrs having been plagued with disaese for several Turns is trying to turn things around. The Weyrleaders of Pern met a month ago to determine how to increase the dragon's egg production. Weyrwoman of Igen, Jenafa, gave them the idea that perhaps the blood of the dragons had grown thin having bred the same dragons with the same dragons for so long. It is with this in mind that they have made a difficult decision. The Junior Weyrwoman were traded. Telgar's Senior Gold, Adeloth, the largest breeder of the Queens, also was moved. Despite the health of her Gold, Elisha felt poorly and was forced via the Healer Hall to take a less stressful position as Jr. Weyrwoman at another less harshly weathered Weyr.
The new Weyrwoman of Telgar is from High Reaches. Both Weyrs hold a sort of animosity for the other which would make this transition very difficult. Add to that the fact that this new Queen was not as proven as Adeloth, never producing a Gold. Despite this already unhappy welcome of a High Reaches Gold for Senior the Weyr they are being sent another Gold from Ista, a Weyr they have not gotten along with for Turns. With Thread at their very doorstep and the changes underfoot, how will Telgar face this new era for dragonriders?
Dawning of a New Era is a canon, 5th Pass Weyr
