Appearance:
Grey eyes, dark klah colored skin, and a hair that sticks up in a soild way for three inches leave Pylen as a man who grabs attention. He just hits six feet, and has the thin quality of an active youth. He should gain more muscle mass as time goes on, but for now he's a little skinny.
Though his dark skin is the first thing to grab anyone's attention, it's his eyes that hold the attention. A stormy grey, they're framed by long, thick lashes, and show his emotions just as much as the rest of his face. His hair is another attraction- people always want to feel his hair and try to figure out how he manages to keep it standing up in the way that he does- and the way that it feels keeps it an interesting part of his body. His nose is broad, with flared nostrils, and his lips are big and soft. His cheekbones are high, his ears are even and well sized, and his teeth are a very bright white on his mouth. The eyebrowns are very thick, though Pylen makes sure to stop them from growing into a unibrow.
His hands are large, though his fingers are a bit shorter than what you'd expect on such big palms. He doesn't usually spend a lot of time on his nails, though he does keep them trimmed.
Clothing is always merely fuctional. Pylen isn't a clothes horse, though his mother, older sister, and various female friends keep him from ever falling into a pit of truly worn and failing apart clothes. He's not very adept at sewing but Pylen still tries to mend all ripped clothing.
Personality:
For as long as he can remember, Pylen has been told to watch over his brother. For all that the young man is only a turn old than his brother, he's always been told to keep his brother out of trouble, and has always done his best. They are both close enough in age that they have always been the best of friends- Pylen acting as the voice of reason(when he believes they aren't being reasonable, that is), and his younger brother acting as voice that advocatives fun. They are well known through the Weyr, as Pylen has a bit of a temper, and Phwyn is known for his pranks, and both have a way with the ladies.
Pylen has never liked those haughty riders- the Queens, and the Bronzes and Browns. They do not understand how much work the Drudges and their kin put in. They do not care, and they do not want to care. He, with all of his learnings about history, cannot tell you about a Weyrbred drudge girl who Impressed a Queen. And now that the Holdbred Weyrwoman has decreed that no girl should ride Green, most girls born into the Weyr, unless they can attract the attention of a high ranker, will remain drudges forever. And those born into a Drudge family have a much lower chance of becoming dragonriders. And with more searchs outside of the Weyr, because a hightened need for boys, it's become even harder. Pylen has never seen a ranking dragonrider care about drudges(unless they are very pretty girls or boys), only the lower ranking dragonriders seem to stay in touch with their none-dragonriding family.
Though Pylen stands as a candidate, he really has no intention of Impressing higher than a blue. He has no wish to become one of those stuck up prigs, and would rather remain close to his drudge roots forever.
Pylen has a weakness for pretty girls, as well as a slightly thin skin. While he'll take just about anything from his brother, someone unrelated to him must err on the side of caution. He's good with words, and tends to be loud. Only overshadowed by his younger brother, put into any group, Pylen can make everything a bit more fun. He enjoys a good joke(as long as it isn't at his his expense), and he's often the one telling them.
He's had a weakness when it comes to gambling in the past, and tries not to gamble now, though at a Gather, he often has trouble avoiding the race tracks. Occationally, he'll put up a book on something, just to keep himself from finding someone else who is doing it, and betting himself.
Math comes easily to Pylen, and he's a good man to have negotiating prices, or numbers of things for you. His mind works in odd ways, and Pylen often has the oddest memories.
History:
Pylen's story starts before his birth. His father, the son of a ranking bronzerider and a Queen candidate who couldn't stand due to her pregnacy. He was their only child, and he was always expected to Impress highly, a brown at the least. When Phinely never impressed, his father began to pretend he didn't exist, and his mother did the same. Feeling betrayed by both of them, Phinely moved into the drudge rooms, and began his life there, never speaking of his father or mother. He met a drudge woman named Wyloa, and they had a child, decided they wanted to remain Weyrmated, and ended up with five children(four blood related, and a fostered child). His life was good, and Phinely was happy, but he couldn't keep himself from hating rankers, and their way of acting like Impression was everything. He Impressed those beliefs into his children, from his daughters to his sons, and has high hopes for them, Impression or not.
Pylen, his first son, realized there were high expectations for him, and went out of his way to become the best son he could be. He looked after his younger brother(who was also his best friend), he did his chores, he defended his father to all of those boys born of dragonriders who thought to scorn Pylen, Faloa, or Phywn for being born to a drudge.
Growing older, he grew to be a tough kid, willing to do anything for his family, and barely able to keep his disrespect for rankers from showing. He was a child who gathered all drudge children together and taught them to be proud of who they were, and happy they were born to who they were born. After all, their mothers and father had time for them, and there mothers and father wouldn't abandon them if they chose not to Impress, or to become a crafter, or a holder. They were the lucky ones, and that was Pylen's message.
He still chose to stand when he turned the right age, but as he told his close friends, it had more to do with candidates getting easy chores than wanting a dragon. When his brother became a candidate, things got even better, and the two of them were thick as thieves. As he got older he had his first real girlfriend, turned into a proper flirt, and gathered numerous small scars that turned his dark skin a odd pink color. He doesn't see himself Impressing, but that doesn't really matter. When he's done standing, he thinks that he will make his unofficial harper apprenticeship official, and become a harper, talking to everyone, and letting everyone know that you don't have to be a ranker to be happy.
Edit:
Scratch those Harper plans: P’len is a Dragonrider now. A bronzerider, to be exact, so he is one of those Rankers now. And so’s his younger brother. It’s a lot to deal with, but P’len doesn’t mind. He can deal with his new rank, and will work hard(once he graduates) to make life easier for those who don’t have a chance at having what he has. With Nargoth, the current love of his life.
While P’len still hopes to meet a Weyrmate, and grow old making life better for the workers of the Weyr, he’s currently happy to have Ph’yn as his best friend again, after Nargoth got in the way of that friendship. Not that he blames his bronze at all: he wouldn’t change Nargoth for anything.
Unfortunately, while everything worked out with his brother, his sister is a whole other story. Faloa has gotten herself involved with a no good, sleazy, rotten Bluerider, and practically Weyrmated herself to him! And even had a child with him!
Now, P'len tries to be understanding and forgiving, but honestly, there is something about E'tos that just rubs him the wrong way. P'len just knows that E'tos is going to break Faloa's heart, and he wants to get rid of the pesky Bluerider before he has a chance too.

Name:
Nargoth
Age:
3
Color:
Bronze
Appearance:
Very large and a “prince of his species.” His hide is very metallic-y bronze, and he is maybe even the largest bronze in the clutch. He has a certain, unplanned grace that he himself cannot explain. His bright, clear coloring is pretty solid, with some darker splotches on his underbelly and wing sails.
Personality:
Nargoth is long winded, and anything but primitive. He has a natural curiosity, and wonders why people look at him. Needless to say, Nargoth can be a little modest at times. He can be easily distracted, but he tries to focus on the task at hand to the best of his ability.
History:
He Hatched. He Impressed. He tried to understand what was wrong with being Bronze, and became a little more arrogent when he realized nothing was wrong with it.
