Appearance:
There is nothing about N’zule that screams “Greenrider”. He’s masculine, well built, with a tanned face, and an air of competence that makes him seem a very manly man- as well as a bit of a heart breaker in the Lower Caverns. His eyes are green, and snapping with good humor and quick wit. Lips are a little bigger than most would consider seemly on a man, but they fit his face. Nothing about him is really striking, not when compared to the rest of the Riders, but he’s physically pleasing. His hair is poofy when allowed to grow out, and kept a little under an inch, it sticks out of his head, a light brown(with some gray beginning to peek out) fuzz.
He’s fit, as most dragonriders are, with thin, corded muscles that run everywhere in his body. He’s exceedingly flexible, and has near perfect balance. Even when drunk, he can usually be trusted not to fall. He stands at about 5’9”, with his hair flattened, and while not overly tall, he likes his height. His hands are soft, but not well tended- they are given just enough attention so that they don’t appear gross, but nothing more. He keeps them trimmed, but doesn’t bother with the cuticle, or making sure that the trim makes the perfectly even.
He likes colors, but rarely wears them, having been trying to beat the flamboyant Greenrider stereotype since he impressed. He wears mostly browns, but greens, reds, and blues also are found in his wardrobe. He avoids wearing leathers except when riding, finding cloth pants can be made to suit the weather, and liking that versatility.
Personality:
For the most part N’zule is a personable guy, who likes people, and tends to be very understanding, and calm about everything. In fact, for most of his Weyrlinghood, he was respected as the guy who could be counted on to keep his head cool, and talk people down.
He, naturally, has his dark side. For two or three days before a Flight, N’zule is an absolute monster. His temper is out of control, he’s controlling, loud, picks fights with everyone, and will say things that should never be said(not secrets, but he’ll make comments that are absolutely terrible). And since Delith rises a lot more than the average green, his temper quickly became well known.
He’s highly intelligent, with a quick wit, though he struggles with writing and math. Reading isn’t much of a problem, though Greenrider’s don’t exactly end up with a lot of book work to take care of.
Friends are people he treats carefully, and even on his bad days, he tends to be better to his friends than anyone else. He’s a hopeless romantic, but has trouble keeping relationships going because of how nasty he can be around Flight times.
He enjoys a glass of wine, but rarely gets drunk, except after the end of a relationship or after a death. He also got rather drunk after his first son was born, and Lazule’s mother nearly died.
Though he makes friends easily, he doesn’t make close friends easily. It’s hard for him to find people who won’t explode when he lashes out at them. This was his top reason for accepting Pyralis as his Wing. Though sometimes he gets irritated with them for always barely having a hold on their temper, it’s easier for him to relax about being angry and hostile when everyone else blows up just as easily as him. He tends to avoid people outside of his Wing, though he knows quite a few people. He’s friendly to drudges, having been one, and most of his family still being drudges.
He’s bisexual(or so he claims), but has only had relationships with men, and the two woman he got pregnant were accidents, and very, very, very, butch.
History:
Born into a Weyr family that, rarely, if ever, had a Dragonrider in it, N’zule never thought that he would be one of the lucky ones who flew on a dragon. He grew up like a normal Weyrbrat, playing pranks, making friends, playing games that got him to know the Weyr inside and out.
As he grew older, he realized he really wasn’t especially good at anything, and so he settled into a nice feeling that his life was set for him. He would Stand for Clutches until he turned twenty, then he would be a drudge just like everyone else in his family. Maybe he’d fine a nice Weyrmate to grow old with- maybe not. Everything was going patiently the way he wanted until he reached fifteen.
His fifteenth turn had not been going well. His first real relationship with a girl had failed, due to his lack of sexual interest in her, his older brother had Impressed, and his best friend had developed a breathing problem and had to be transferred to Ista(His friend later Impressed a Brown, and never returned).
When Beynath laid her clutch, N’zule was simply disappointed by the reminder that his brother had Impressed, and he, in all likelihood would never Impress. Thus, it came as a great surprise when a small green delight decided to Impress him. Her name was Delith, and though small, she knew who she wanted, and brought N’zule into a world he thought he’d never be part of- The Dragonriding World!
A male Impressing a green at this point in time was rather rare- girls, who most thought were better suited to Greens were plentiful, and he was a bit of an oddball.
N’zule, of course, wouldn’t have changed Delith for the world, and was mostly content to be the only male Greenrider of his clutch. They went through Weyrlinghood as one of the most trusted Greenriders, counted on to be mature, get things done, and keep arguments from breaking out.
About a turn into Weyrlinghood, N’zule suddenly started acting up. The Weyrling Master was surprised, though when he looked back on it, he realized he should have figured out what was wrong. Three days after the beginning of his mood swing, Delith rose for the first time.
After the Flight was over, N’zule was back to normal, and he apologized for how he’d acted, and made peace with those who he’d been fighting with. Delith turned out to be one of those who was rising very, very, very, often, and so N’zule’s constant mood swings became something of a joke between his friends.
Though before Delith’s Flight, and the realization that she would fly often, the Weyrling Master had been suggesting N’zule join Triveni when he graduated, N’zule’s WLM decided that Pyralis was probably a better choice, and recommend N’zule to them.
Tapped third of all the greens in his clutch, N’zule was fairly happy with his standing as a Weyrling, and then as a Wingrider. He was good at what he did, and the combined flexibility of him and Delith led them to be perfect riders for Pyralis Wing.
They had fairly normal lives- Delith was rather sought after during her Flights by dragon’s whose riders preferred men, making her feel quite good about herself- and because of that, N’zule felt good too. They had several relationships, most of them ending after the other person got sick of N’zule’s pre-Flight PMS.
He managed to knock two different ladies up, and ended up with two fine sons. The first son, Lazule, was the result of Flightlust, experimentation, and booze, while he second son, Kerzule, was the result of a female Bluerider who really wanted a child.
As the turns went by, N’zule stopped worrying about getting a Weyrmate, and began to enjoy himself as merely being a rider. He went to Gathers, made friends, dressed well, and spoiled his sons a little more than was expected from a Dragonrider. He watched one of his nephews Impress a Brown, and got to know the boy better.
And then, a little under a turn ago, he found someone who seemed to be the perfect Weyrmate. The man, Rory, wasn’t a dragonrider, but they shared common history, and got along well. Soon, their friendship turned into a relationship, and N’zule honestly felt like they would be spending the rest of their lives together. He later beat himself up about allowing himself to grow so attached, but at that moment, everything seemed right.
Rory loved his children, and they liked him back. Delith liked the tall man, and everything seemed right. Rory would allow N’zule to make up to him after Flights made them get into fights, and didn’t seem to mind that Flights often placed N’zule in other peoples beds.
And then one fateful day, Rory picked a fight with him, and left. Then, even after Delith’s Flight soothed the Greenrider’s sore nerves, the man didn’t come back. When the Greenrider hunted him down, Rory came at him with angry accusations, and N’zule, already frazzled because Rory hadn’t been waiting for him back at their Weyr yelled back.
After leaving the fight nearly in tears, N’zule went and found his former Flight partner, and they spent the night together. The next day, Rory flirted with anyone who was around, and ignored N’zule. The Greenrider, stressed out and upset, took to avoiding everyone for several weeks. By the time he came out of his shell, it was time for another one of Delith’s Flights, and after which, N’zule didn’t even bother looking for Rory. They still haven’t worked out their issues, and any confrontation between the two doesn’t end well.
N’zule and Rory tried to work out their issues. It didn’t work, and may have contributed to the fight they had in the middle of the Weyrhall during lunch. Things didn’t get much better after discovering that Rory has conceived a child with N’zule favorite niece, Nisha, a greenrider. A Weyrling Greenrider.
This doesn’t look like it will end well.
This didn’t end badly, but certainly not well.
Rory and Nisha’s now have a child named Nishor, an amazing little boy, who, in all likelihood will be a terror of the Weyr in a few more turns. N’zule is unsure of what his place is with Nisha and Rory’s relationship.
He’s tried several times to move on from Rory, but all relationship attempts have failed, and though he cannot fight the feeling of doom being around Rory inspires, N’zule wants to spend more time around the drudge.
Who knows what this birthday will bring, but N’zule’s hoping for Rory.
Naturally, his next birthday lacked Rory, though it did involve drinking, feeling old, and attempting to find a Weyrmate. He also found his first gray hairs, and has been mildly morose since. There have also been three separate attempts at making a Weyrmate situation work. All of them failed miserably, and three a turn is a terrible track record.
N'zule is beginning to think that maybe he should just give up, and curl up in a ball. After all, at this point, he can't stay in a relationship, his oldest son is too busy being a dragonrider to want to see him, and his younger son is too busy hero worshiping Bronzeriders to have time for his Greenriding father, his favorite niece is always trying to make him spend time with her, Nishor and Rory(which is always incredibly awkward), and for the first time in his life, he's feeling old.
No, it doesn't look like thirty four is going to be a good year for N'zule.

Name:
Delith
Age:
19
Color:
Green
Appearance:
Delith’s one of the smallest, if not the smallest green in the whole Weyr. She’s completely proportionate, and while she can last as long as many of her bigger green counterparts, it’s only because there is must less of her to keep up in the air. She also takes longer to recover from going as long as the rest of the greens, and will probably be the first to drop out during a Fall.
She looks quite delicate, and all of her is sharp angles and pointed wings. Wild grass green is her coloring, with the edges of her wings darkening and changing to an almost turquoise color.
Her snout is incredibly sensitive, and all those who rub it are people she likes. Always clean, and well looked after, Delith demands much attention from her rider, and since there is so much less of her than others, she feels it is perfectly alright to still expect a great deal of attention to go into her hide.
Personality:
Delith’s not as demanding as some Greens, but she does expect a lot of attention. She’s average as a Searchdragon, not good enough to be actively put to work searching, but if she brings back a Candidate from a gather, the child would be accepted into the Weyr.
Though naturally meddlesome, she tries hard to stay out of her riders affairs. She regards his children as her own, and liked his former mate, whose name she no longer recalls. She remembers how he used to give good nose rubs, and help out with oiling and scrubbing her. Delith knows that N’zule’s still unhappy about his former mate, and isn’t really sure why. She remembers there being yelling, but that was rather common between the two near her flights.
She’s a big gossip, and loves to flirt, and talk. She thinks her size makes her more perfect, and so she brags about it. Because she likes how small she is, she tolerates teasing, feeling that it’s not meant to be mean.
History:
When she hatched, she was aware of a need. She was also aware of a feeling in her stomach that she didn’t like. The need was worse though, so she didn’t look for food first. She was aware that the need came from being alone, and feeling was terrible. Finding someone who the mere though of made the need go away was easy- but then She had to find Him.
Stumbling through the sands, she passed up the girls entirely- they didn’t make her feel better. Finding Him at last, she looked upon Hers, and felt the same aching wistfulness inside him that she felt in herself, and then she announced what was going to happen, taking charge in a way that she would rarely do again.
I am Delith, you are mine, and we are hungry. Let us eat!
Nazule, now N’zule nearly fell over in shock, and called up to the waiting crowd; “Her name is Delith!”
