(Due to the extended absence of Sheluth's writer, I went ahead and started a clutching thread, no one need reply but this is a two week notice before they will be hatching in real time. so get your Candidates rping )
The sands had been empty for many months when Sheluth stepped out onto them. She was ready even if Neory was a little unaware of what was going on. The Gold had taken her completely by suprise that morning when she mentioned going to the sands.
The day was cool and crisp, perfect for Sheluth not to overheat. As usual she was in fine health and color. It was a pity that Torenth could not be here to witness his clutch being laid. Without him around to deter people from coming in and out the other Bronzes had made it their own mission to gaurd the young Queen while she was busy.
About two candlemarks into it, things were still running smoothly. The first clutch of Sheluth's already yielded seven eggs and more were coming. If her mother was any indication, Sheluth may clutch more eggs than the average Gold on Pern. As the candlemarks passed the Gold continued to be quite at ease. She was having no difficulty whatsoever and as usual had saved the best for last.
Sheluth laid a Gold egg and it was no wonder that people began to show up around the Hatching Sands, hoping to get a glimpse of the Egg and its clutchmates. Total including the Gold, Sheluth laid fifteen eggs which was not bad for a first clutch.
