Suwert is 5'10" and has an average build despite his limitations. He has blue eyes and black hair. He has well tanned skin from being outside a lot. His high cheekbones and long jaw line give his face a sharpness that is not generally unattractive. His thick eyebrows sometimes gives him a brooding look. He has noticeable scaring over his vocal chords. His left leg has permanent injuries that require him to use a cane.
He prefers to dress in darker colored clothing. Most of his clothing is made to be practical though it usually has something embroidered on it somewhere. He has a preference for geometric designs. He wears his shirts so that his throat is visible most the time. He prefers long pants and short sleeve shirts. He often wears a denim jacket over it all. The cane he uses has a spiral design up it, ending with hook at the top.

Personality:
For all that he has been through, Suwert has a very stable personality. He is more than willing to take each day as it comes. He doesn't believe that everything happens because someone caused or wanted it to happen. He recognizes that sometimes stuff just happens. He view is that you just pick up the pieces and keep moving. He has learned to not take a lot of things personally.
He has a preference for small groups due to his limitations in being able to talk. He doesn't like to stand on rank or when others do it, though he is capable to deal with such people. He tends to have a few close friends and quite a few acquaintances. He prefers smaller settings for relaxing and entertainment but is not picky concerning who he spends the time with.
He has realized that he is attracted to guys but has done nothing to act on it. He has recognized the problems that could occur if he did. He has decided to avoid said problems, at least for now.
In general, he has a positive veiw point of dragons and the weyrs.
Hobbies/Skills: Suwert learned to skill of embroidery from his mother originally. He has since continued learning it whenever he has a chance.
He knows a version of sign language which he is gradually adding healer specific signs to.
He has limited knowledge of hold management and diplomacy.
Pets:Black, a canine. He is with Suwert most of the time. He has been trained to provide assistance to Suwert.

Parent's situation:
Jez is a weyrbrat turned healer. He met Lorra when he was posted to South Telgar Hold. The two of them hit it off right from the start, despite the opinion of Lorra's father, Targus, who objected to Jez's 'lack of status'. The two of them didn't care and eloped and were married at Tillek Hold. Targus refused to admit that Lorra was his daughter from then on. Other members of the family, Lord Delach in particular, thought Lorra had married below herself but still maintained some connection with her. Jez might not be the most prestigious husband but she could have done worse.
Suwert's history:
Suwert was born about a turn after his parent's marriage, and he was the last child his mother could allow herself for medical reasons. Suwert was born at the Healer Hall at Fort while his father was between postings. Over the turns, the three of them traveled from posting to posting that his father was assigned to. Most of these were in the area watched over by High Reaches Weyr. Generally things went well with no major problems. Suwert started to learn about the healing arts by watching his father. His mother helped out where she could.
That changed when Suwert was ten. While traveling to South Telgar Hold, the family was attacked by a group of tunnel snakes. Jez was able to drive them off only after they inflicted severe injuries to Suwert and Lorra. Lorra died of her injuries. Suwert's left leg was damaged to the extent that he was rendered lame. He also took severe injuries to his throat. The damage to his vocal chords severely reduced the volume he could speak at without pain.
When word reached him of Lorra's death, Lord Delach insisted on Suwert being fostered at Telgar Hold. Jez, after much thought, agreed with the condition that Suwert receive healer training from the master healer assigned to the Hold. Suwert spent the next 7 turns at Telgar Hold. After a turn at Telgar, he received Black as a gift from his father. Suwert was the odd man out most of the time during his stay at Telgar. Some people accepted him and others tended to ignore his presence. His lessons on the healing arts were usually the high point of his day . It was finally decided that he needed further training that he couldn't get to Telgar Hold and was sent to the main Healer Hall at Fort.
At the main healer hall, Suwert has started to find himself a place. Most of the other apprentices, at least the ones he thinks matter, may find his injuries different but they do not look down on him. He has been studying to try to make it to the rank of journeyman. He has also been considering specialising in an area where his limitations would be less of a problem.
