Character Info:
Name: R'lec (Reilec)
Age: 30 (1025)
Gender: Male
Rank: Wingsecond
Family:
R'saron, blue rider - Father - Died in a brawl that got out of hand not long after R'lec was born.
Elecina - Mother - Resident of Crom Hold
Various brothers and sisters. Who can keep up with those darn blue riders anyways?
Kiddies:
Rava - 13 (1042) - R'lec's oldest, by Avia in the Lower Caverns. He paid her more attention when they were both younger, as she was his first and the novelty of babies hadn't warn off yet.
Reisul - 11 (1044) - R'lec's oldest son from a greenflight, and probably his favorite. He's bound and determined to see this boy impress, and well.
Lesei - 10 (1045) - A surprise after too much wine at a feast.
Elecsa - 8 (1047) - That one girl in the hall.
Reilan - 8 (1047) - Another greenflight.
Rechu - 7 (1048) - Bouncing ball of energy. His mother was bound and determined not to be forgotten, and made sure R'lec knew he was the father.
Reiana - 6 (1049) - By a drudge. Hey, she was cute.
Sulec - 5 (1050) - A present to a new girl at the Weyr. She was too old to be a candidate, but R'lec gave her a nice consolation prize. She's somewhere in the Lower Caverns now.
There are several other (oh man) scattered throughout Hold and Hall. He doesn't acknowledge them, as the women he sees are too numerous to bother remembering names. Should they write to him about a child, he discards it, prefering to think of them as "souvenirs."
Pets: Princess, a 6 week old merle colored puppy. She has one blue eye, one brown. Daughter of Tipp, Weyrling Amneris' canine. She is very much the little princess of the litter. She doesn't like getting dirty, and often prances around rather than walking. Her entire demeanor is lady like.
Appearance: Looks are very important, a lesson the bronze rider learned very early in life. With just the right look, he could persuade his mother it was the other kid's fault, or that he deserved an extra treat even though he didn't finish supper. Ever since then, he's been meticulous about everything from his blonde hair to his muscular, sculpted frame. His hair is cut short, for practical reasons, but not as much as his fellow riders. He tends to run his fingers through it when frustrated. Those hazel eyes seem to know just when to look pitiful in order to get the girl that extra step into bed. He stands at a strong 6'0 and boasts a tan from the long days of wing drills. In his opinion, he is the best lookin' guy in the Weyr, if not Pern.
He prefers simple tunics for everyday wear, though always tailored to fit his frame just right. Anything that takes away attention from his face or body is steered away from.
Personality: Oh, what's there not to say about charming R'lec. He's everything a bronze rider supposed to be. He's charismatic, charming, quite the ladies' man....if you catch him in one of his good moods. At his worst, he's manipulative, selfish, calculating. And, in all fairness, that's most of the time. He's not afraid to use someone to get a leg up in rank, and a woman in his bed means almost nothing to him. He's bedded more than his share, and has the rugrats running around to prove it. R'lec can be moodier than a green rider for the most part, so those who know him best know to tred softly around him, at least until they can discen what that day will be like. When it comes to business, he's ruthlessly efficient. When it comes to his personal life, he's ruthless.
These good looks are a blessing and a curse. A blessing to those who have yet to feel his cold demeanor, and a curse to those he's lost interest in. He's also a bit of a control freak, possessive over whoever his eye is on. When he wants something he gets it, no questions ask. Got it? Good. And should his eyes tend to linger on a guy from time to time, keep your mouth shut. He's into girls, alright??
R'lec tends to be a skeptic. Unless he sees something for himself, he'll give you extra chores for wasting time with "nonsense." Between us, he doubts Thread will ever return, but you'll never hear him admit it. That would mean an end to dragon and Weyr-kind, and R'lec would fight tooth and nail to keep his cushy lifestyle.
History:
R'lec's not one to talk about his past.
He was born to one of the ladies of Crom Hold, nine months after a blue rider conducted an unsuccessful search there. Apparently he didn't care though, as he made frequent trips to the hold. Especially when he was informed a son was born to him, R'saron took time out of wing drills to visit the young family. The blue rider had his faults, but when it came to his blood, he was going to do right. In reality, he was still young himself, and naive in these things, and despite all his good intentions, he died after placing a bet with the wrong types of people. A drunken brawl broke out, tempers flaired, and R'saron shouted something about refusing to pay, and before another word could be uttered, a knife went into his belly. It was a sad day when Elecina was informed...they had even made plans on her and baby Reilec joining the blue rider at the Weyr. It would seem those dreams would be dashed...But at least she had her little baby to keep her company.
Elecina doted on little Reilec. He could get anything he wanted from the poor woman, and, if he was charming enough, from her friends too. As a child, he was giving practically free reign in the Hold, going wherever he wanted, whenever he wanted. He developed a bit of a following with the other children. Of course, he used the fact he was dragonrider stock to his advantage, telling the other, smaller, younger kids that if they didn't do what he wanted, he'd come back for them one day and have his dragon burn them with his flames. After that, he had few troubles with the locals, and was quite content with the power he built up in over the years. Soon, he grew bored, and began pestering his mother about bigger things: such as his claim to his birthright. He demanded to impress a dragon.
With a tearful goodbye from Elecina, and barely a brief way from her only son, Reilec left to the Weyr. He was allowed to stand, in honor of his late father, and at fourteen turns, he impressed. He chose to ignore his first Hatching, where had been passed by every Hatchling (and for one scary moment, approached by a small green), pretending it never happened or at least, that he hadn't been there participating. No, he and Myneth were made for each other, and he remembered the day the large dragonette took those jagged first steps toward him. Young Reilec would have jumped and wrapped his arms around him when he first laid eyes on the bronze, if only so no one else would get him. But he always got the best, and it was no different now.
Weyrling training passed without too much incidence. There was a bit of a power struggle at the beginning, as R'lec had to establish his dominance and superiority first and foremost. But here at the Weyr, it didn't matter his father was a blue rider. There were some here Weyr-born and bred, with browns and even bronzes they called Dad. R'lec would have to prove himself worthy with skill. And so they did.
The pair graduated with flying colors, and immediantly drafted into Pyralis Wing. R'lec spent several turns here, working diligently until becoming Wingsecond, a position he wasted no time in flaunting around the Weyr, when no one in authority was in earshot. Several children later, he is as arrogant as ever, but it seems like it's almost expected of him now. He leads wthe wing (well, when his Wingleader isn't there to keep him in check...) with an iron fist, drilling things over and over until the last dragon and rider have it perfectly. R'lec expects the best from himself and those under his command, and is always to point out anyone else's flaws. He itches for Telgar to join the Weyr games, if only to show off his abilities and those he has trained. It's no use being the best if you can't show it off.
Love him or hate him, he's one to live life to the extreme. Just don't get in his way.

Dragon Info:
Name: Myneth
Age: 16 turns
Color: Bronze
Appearance: Myneth is a vain dragon, and why shouldn't he be? He was the darkest bronze of his clutch, and his coloring makes it easy to pick him out in a sky full of dragons. His hide is a darker, molten bronze with lighter tones that grace his underbelly and haunches, swirling to make an almost brass like color in some areas. He is fairly large, even for a bronze, with a wingspan to envy. And its something Myneth is sure to flaunt whenever an appealing female is within range. Which is often, you can imagine.
Personality: Arrogant, vain, self-asorbed. No, we're not still talking about R'lec. Myneth mirrors all of his rider's "charming" characteristics and mannerisms, and then some. He puts up with R'lec's rantings about who's pregnant now or how the Wing Leader doesn't know anything, but really could care less unless it concerns him directly. But if R'lec doesn't get his venting time, he's near impossible the rest of the day, so Myneth is patient, for the most part. With anyone else though, good luck. Myneth has no tolerance for stupidity, and is quick to put dragons in his wing in place, should they be a hair slow in formation. It's his mission to get the Weyr up to a satisfactory level.
Besides, not everyone can be him. They need -something- to strive for.
History:
As according to the bronze himself:
iI hatched.
I found R'lec.
That training was a waste of time. They never let me do what I wanted to. But now they know I am the best. I don't get any old rider's yelling at me anymore.
I fly many greens, but no queens. Yet.
I'm hungry. I need to hunt.
Clutch: Gold Beynath's 41st by Bronze Tlanth
Hatching Order: 2nd, which is a sore point to both rider and dragon, and those around them learned quickly not to bring it up.
Wing: Pyralis
