Enald, the young Lord of Telgar, had pulled all of the stops for the first meeting of Tor and his hopefully wife-to-be, Alsea of Fort Hold. He was dressed in clothes that the Weaver had insisted were the height of fashion, in the red and blue colors of Telgar, with weyrhide boots that had been polished until they shown and while he'd almost worn gloves(they added class, his mother and sister proclaimed) he'd fought that urge, deciding that was just a smudge too proper. They were welcoming the Lady Alsea as a potential member of their family, and thus he shouldn't be too stiff.
Glad that he was able to not fidget on command, Enald ignored the feeling of the pants, which he felt were a little too tight, though a lovely shade of blue. Everything had been set up to his content. Delach had been sent off to double check the figures that were coming in from a minor hold- much smaller than Enald had been expecting, Tor had been kept away from any sort of diversion that would leave him looking worse for the wear, one of the nannies was with Kimlye, and his wife and brother should be there shortly. It was unlikely his mother would appear, but she'd been warned what to expect.
Tea was set up, in one of the nicer rooms, and he'd carefully selected the refreshments. There was enough hide to write out any contract(or potential contract) in one of the side table's drawers, just in case. Enald allowed himself a satisfied smile. Now, he simply had to wait for the Lady Alsea to arrive.
This was going very smoothly.

Leshya smiled seeing her husband as she came out into the courtyard. Those pants actually did a good job highlighting her husband's assets. She herself was dressed in finery, also in the colors of Telgar Hold. Her dress hugged her form - different now but all the remaining fat was gone, and though her shape was different, she still had a very nice figure. Her hair was braided with a bit of gold ribbon, and she wore a ruby that dropped right above her cleavage.
She moved over to him and kissed his cheek softly, "You look quite dashing, Enald." She took a deep breath stood beside him and slipped her hand into his. She had been visibly relieved when he told her he found a way to get Delach out of the Hold for this. Her father-in-law and she had settled into a pattern of ignoring each other, and since she'd had Kimlye, there was no reason at all that he could use against her to try to get Enald to divorce her.
"Everything will go fine, Enald. Its just up to Torent and Alsea now."

Alsea was elated when her father said she would be going to Telgar to meet with Torant. Her sisters were probably jealous and they ought to be! She was going to a prospering Hold on Pern and she could be marrying into the family, even better! Alsea wasn't sure what kind of man Torant was, whether he was handsome or ugly, kind or cruel, well mannered or boarish. Really there were so many things she wanted to know. Maybe he wouldn't like her. That would not suprise her seeing how men seemed more drawn to women like her stepmother. No she didn't have the curves or the easy spirit.
She shouldn't worry, many people thought she was attractive, though more athleticly pretty than sexy. Her gown was not over the top, not for this occassion. The sweetheart neckline which her stepmother helped her choose was flattering. The cap sleeves enhanced made her shoulders seem slender. The bodice was fitted to her though the skirt flew away from her body a little, which hid most of her lower body. Alsea didn't see that part of her as having too many flaws, her legs were long and slender, as they should be on a Lady of her age. The color was vibrant hue of violet, although it was not an easy color to find it was also not a bad color for her. While not many people had gowns of this hue, some did, and others simply found it to be too much for them.
Alsea touched a strand of hair that had fallen out of its bindings. Her hair was swooped up into a hair ornament that was somewhat like a golden net that held the black strands away from Alsea's oval face. She was not nervous about seeing Enald and Leshya, she was however wondering if Torant would judge her as some Holder's daughter being thrust his way because he was unwed and young. She really did want to like him.
The young woman walked toward the Lord and Lady Holder, smile on her face, green eyes warm and accepting. She was glad they had offered for her to come there rather than staying at Fort awaiting her fate. She hoped that Torant would actually be here this time. It was hard to accept any of this without knowing. She wouldn't marry just anyone. Her favorite brother was a second son and someone she felt was easier to confide in than their eldest brother. The ease of not having to worry about ruling seemed to make the younger brothers of Hold families much more agreeable, Alsea hoped that would be the case here though she didn't think anyone could be more agreeable than Enald.

Merrek accompanied his daughter, walking only a step behind her, and beaming with pride at the lovely young woman who was his daughter. He kept his eyes primarily on Lord Enald and Lady Leshya as he approached, but a brief scan did not show any signs of Torant, at least not yet. That greatly concerned the Lord of Fort. It would be one thing to marry his daughter to a man that she consented to, a completely different thing to marry her to a man that neither she nor he had had the opportunity to take the measure of.
Like the Lord and Lady of Telgar, Merrek wore the colors of his Hold. A sharp looking suit, though the pants were no where near as tight as Enald's, they were flattering, and his jacket had been selected to show that despite his age, Merrek was still a strong man.
When they reached the couple, he nodded his head in greeting - a greeting between equals. "Lord Enald, Lady Leshya. We are honored to be here, and I know that Alsea looks forward to getting a chance to meet Torant and to get to know him."
