B'rek was back on track after his day of R&R. He had needed it but more importantly he was refreshed to work even harder today. He had uped the amount he wanted to run every day from five miles to seven and it was kicking his butt. Gavanth was watching his rider run about the Bowl. The dragon was laying next to the Lake. He was a fine looking Bronze, well muscled, not particularly large and the way he was stretched out made him look almost smug.
I don't understand why you need to workout more...I do have a girlfriend my dear dragon and she appreciates this physique very much. A lot of men when they get older start to look saggy. I don't want that. We need to stay strong or at least appear that way. Besides its good to build up your stamina. You do look stronger than the other men running around here. Why couldn't we sleep in today? Wing Drills are in a candlemark and in that time I ahve to have worked out, cleaned up and had breakfast. We slept in plenty.
The rider was wearing his usual free flowing workout pants and a loose short sleeved shirt. He didn't pay any mind to the other people in the Bowl. He was on his fourth mile and at ease but he could feel himself losing his breathing pattern. This was going to take some work.

A’sos came out into the bowl a little later than he had planned to as he had been caught by a ranker in the lower caverns and sent on an errand to take dirty laundry to the cleaning women. Now that he was done with that, however, he knew he had a little bit of time before Wing drills began for the day. The day before last, A’sos had been having trouble keeping up with the wing once again, his shorter legs having to work twice as hard to keep up. Because of such, the small green rider had been told to start doing extra laps around the bowl to build his own stamina and strength.
Stretching a little like he had been taught in Weyrling class, A’sos was soon making his own way around the bowl and had failed to notice he was not the only wing member from Borrego Wing. Setting a pace that would be slow to anyone even a few inches taller than him, A’sos ran comfortably knowing full well that he would most likely be in for more running once drills began.
I shall come and watch you. Thank you, Rith. I like it when you are around. I bet the rocks are warm this morning. I am sure they will be.
With that, it was not long before the little green was resting at one end of the bowl watching her rider approach at a steady pace. She noted how another man was quickly catching up to hers, but thought nothing of it.
(((((Hope its workable...)))))

B'rek caught up to the shorter man with a practiced ease and stayed in step with him a moment. He recognized him as A'sos. "Hello A'sos." He said as he breathed out. "Good morning for a run." The Wingsecond made it a point to know those in his Wing. A'sos had had a rough Weyrlinghood and he was still ahving to work harder than most to maintain strength.
He had no complaints as to the man's work ethic. Nor was he one of those anti ranker types. B'rek wouldn't mind taking these next couple miles a bit slowly. Trying to reclaim his good breathing pattern.
"Gavanth seems to think I work out too much. Dragons don't seem to understand the importance of dragonrider physical appearance." Nali did at least. She appreciated the fact that he kept himself in good shape. Gavanth would too if he knew how much more capable a Wingsecond it made him.

The green rider found himself surprised as a man came up beside him in a similar jog. When he recognized the man and the voice as his Wingsecond B’rek, he found himself missing a step. Managing to keep himself up, he swallowed and kept up the pace. He had not expected to find a running partner this morning, nor had he expected it to be a ranker from his own wing.
“Good Morning - ” He said between breaths, breathing again before continuing “ – Wingsecond B’rek.” A’sos had been told by many other rankers in the WeyrHall plenty of times to never skimp on proper titles, and it became a habit with the green rider.
Running with the man, A’sos was still doing well and did his best to keep an even pace with the bronze rider. Listening, A’sos found himself wondering why dragonrider physical appearance was so important besides to make people look up to them. Deciding it was probably a bad idea to ask, he gave the man a nod.
“Gavanth probably (breath) just likes to spend (breath) time with you, Sir. (breath) I know Rith (breath) would spend all of (breath) her time with me (breath) if she could.”
It was an answer that made sense to A’sos anyways. After all, if it was A’sos’ own choice he would spend all day with Rith enjoying the sun and the sand. The young man loved to be warm and having grown up in Igen’s hot climate all his life, did not handle the cold well.

The Bronzerider never considered himself someone who responded much to titles. Though he had earned his position he didn't feel the need to flaunt it all the time. People sometimes forgot to add the rank on but that was mostly a slip of the tongue more than the mind. There were a few riders, especially lately who had a hard time responding to Rank. He just hoped the Weyr wasn't facing a revolution of that kind.
Trying not to run too quickly for the smaller greenrider, he breathed a bit easier. This was an easier pace for him though it seemed that A'sos found it a bit grueling. "I think its a good idea to keep in shape anyway. Keeps people from thinking your weak. Besides, the Weyr Games are coming up and I expect Borrego will do the Weyrleader proud. "
Weyrleader A'stin was also Wingleader of Borrego, though lately B'rek had felt a lot of the responsibility for the wing while A'stin was spending more and more time with his Weyr duties. B'rek never really wanted this much responsibility, sure he liked being Wingsecond and being in charge when things were going well but when they weren't he really disliked it.
"Is that Rith over there?" B'rek should know his wingmates on sight but there were so many greens at the Weyr it was hard to be sure she belonged to A'sos. "Gavanth is sunning by the Lake..."

A’sos followed B’rek’s gaze and found his eyes fall upon the one and only Rith. The green rider couldn’t help but smile at the sight of her and when he turned back he was smiling at the bronze rider.
“Yes, Sir.” He said with a nod. “That’s Rith.” At the mention of his bronze sunning by the lake, A’sos then turned his gaze in that direction. He knew Rith wasn’t usually a sociable dragon, but he also knew Rith herself liked to sun.
Rith, Bronze Gavanth is sunning by the lake. Maybe you would like to sun there too? There is sun here. But there is sand by the lake as well, maybe the sun is better over there. You think so? Well you can ask Gavanth. Okay.
Being a green, A’sos never had much of a problem talking his dragon into just about anything. He didn’t mind, however, as there were times he was as simple minded as she was.
“I think Rith might join him. She likes to sun.” A’sos told the bronze rider between breaths.
Good morning Gavanth. How is the sun by the lake? Can I share it if it is nice? The little green sent out to the bronze, her own voice similar to A’sos but with slightly more feminine qualities.

"She's looking well." The blonde man watched the green lift off and fly towards the lake. Gavanth wouldn't mind a green to flirt with. He did like greens. The Bronzerider made no comment to his dragon. To think he might have put the thought in the greenrider's head to send Rith over to see Gavanth. Well he couldn't help it if he had. He was simply a friendly person.
Running was beginning to take its toll on his already aching muscles. There had to be an easier way to stay in shape. Thats what he wanted to tell himself. Quitting was not an option though. the price he paid to look good and feel good about himself. "Gavanth enjoys company so I doubt he will mind."
The Bronze was dozing when the pretty voice was heard. A green, Rith. Gavanth flicked his tail and responded, The sun is very warm here this morning. You are welcome to join me. The Bronze always liked a pretty green to sun with since he rarely got time with the Queens. Saharth and he were friendly but she tended to like variety when it came to Bronzes.

A’sos smiled at the bronze rider’s comment of how well his green looked. To the green rider, there was nothing more beautiful than his dragon. The short man slowed his pace a little to watch his green move through the air toward the bronze dragon. It was only a moment, however, before he realized he had slowed and picked it back up to keep up with his wingsecond.
Gavanth’s rider was not the only one to begin feeling the tolls of the jog and despite having been going for a shorter time, A’sos’ breath was beginning to labor. There were times he felt that no matter how hard he tried he’d never keep up with the larger, more fit men who flew within fighting wings.
At the inviting response from the bronze, Rith glided down to land a wingspan away from the bronze. Circling around much like a canine would, she finally made herself comfortable on the warm rock. Letting out a light purr she sent her gratitude. You are right, it is warm here. I like it.

The Bronze was rather fond of being right. He didn't at all mind the company of other dragons and was perfectly content at the moment to be sunning. B'rek says the cold is coming but I don't feel it. The Bronze was irritated by how humans tended to look forward, why not enjoy the warmth rather than thinking that it would be getting colder.
B'rek was glad to have a running partner, and it looked like the greenrider was keeping a good pace for himself though he had bacome distracted for a moment. All that mattered was the man didn't give up. He was proud to have a greenrider like that in his wing as was A'stin.
"A'sos, you may out run me today. I thought taking a day off would be a good thing but it seems that I was wrong. Definately need to work out every day. The good news is that Weyrleader A'stin won't be giving us a hard time today as he has stated he will not be able to run them and that it will be left up to me. The more worn out I am the easier drills will be..." B'rek grinned.

A’sos couldn’t help but let out a breath of relief at the bronze riders words of an easy drill today. And while the green rider was sure he was not going to outrun the bronze rider as his pace was ever so slightly beginning to slow, he gave the man a smile. “I don’t mean to sound like I can’t keep up, I know I struggle at times, but an easy day would be welcome by many I’m sure – not just by myself.”
Loosening her wings a bit, Rith spread them just a bit to better catch the sun. I am not fond of the cold. The green said simply as she closed a single lid, keeping her eyes still upon her rider. It is a good thing we are not a northern Weyr.
