K'nor waited just outside the Sands he wanted to make sure that this clutch would be fed and oiled immediately after they had hatched. He saw that it was his job to make sure that everyhing went smoothly. When he saw his son impress he was pleased that the boy had been worthy enough to impress. When he noticed it was a blue he smiled even more broadly, his son had desired the Bronze and because of that he had been left with a blue.
"All right kids all your dragons are hungry I'm sure. Feed them the food is right there, also once they are done eating most tend to get itchy thats where oil comes in. You need to cover their hides in this oil to keep it soft, then its off to the barracks with you." K'nor spoke in a loud enough tone to be heard he wanted to make sure that these kids would all listen to him and not be stupid.
K'it heard his father and fed his blue Suroth who was still very determined to be fed and taken care of. He hoped that he would have a moment with his father soon enough since he had impressed to a blue.
Mine, I itch. Suroth told K'it who immediately turned to tend to the hide of his new life mate. He would make sure that he was well taken care of and nothing would ever happen to the dragonet.

Svarth lead the way his proud rider at his side with a hand on the great hatchling. Light gleamed on near dry copper skin, the magnificent creature only enhanced by the dark haired tan skinned youth beside him. There was a new confidence in the boy’s step, it seemed for the first time the weight of his twenty turns showed and not badly. Danwyr had become D’wyr bronze rider. It was a change as noticeable as change could be in the short few hours which had passed on the hatching grounds.
I’m hungry, and Itchy. Svarth demanded simply. An incredulous glance at the hatchling told the dragonet very clearly he wouldn’t be eating much more today than what he already had. Else the little creature would be whining all night keeping up half the Weyr. However glancing over the near dry hide of his beauteous life mate an oiling was just the thing needed. And once the beast had digested properly what he had already consumed, perhaps a meal.
”You’ll split your hide if you eat another morsel before you get a proper oiling. D’wyr remarked scratching the spot he had discovered. Svarth accommodated with a low and genuine purr. D’wyr had listened to K’nor’s speech and bypassed the food for the oil right off. Having made a pig of himself already Svarth needed a good oiling, and that would give him enough time to digest the first meal. He glanced at the blue as well as the other hatchlings in the room, smiling in the thought that few if any matched his lovely Svarth.

Laszreen had ushered her Gold to feed directly after Hatching. While Elfreth continued to insist on how hungry she was, Laszreen either ignored her or responded but she ultimately won when it came to the battle of wills. The beautiful dragonet was hardly bothered by that. In fact she was more interested to see where they were going. Laszreen fondly scratched the Gold's eyeridges. Unfortunately for Elfreth, she was a rather clumsy dragonet, and nearly fell over again. "Oh deat. We are going to have to work on doing more than one thing at once..."
The newest Goldrider of Igen had no trouble at all with showing her authority. Using all of her might she made sure there was a clear path to the front of the growing group of Weyrlings for her dragon. The Weyrlingmaster's speech was probably something the pair should hear. He spoke only a couple sentances but it was more than enough to motivate her.
Laszreen snatched up some oil and rags before anyone could say a word to her. She wasn't in the mood for chit chat. Of course, she was rarely ever in the mood to talk with people. Now would be the worst time. The most precious thing in all the world needed her to oil her hide. There wasn't a moment to lose. I am sleepy. First oiling then bed.Fine. I would rather be sleeping. Oiling is very important and you will feel less itchy. My hide is perfect. Now it is, without oiling it properly it will not remain that way.You and your oiling. If you want to show me off so badly, lets go.
Laszreen had not realized how aggravating a dragon could be. She hoped this was all part of the process, that the dragon would be obstinate at times and not want to give in to what must be. Better not to let her get away with everything now. Otherwise when she got bigger there might be trouble.
