There was a sort of tragedy to all this, there were once three Bronzers in this group and now only two. They could have each added to their Bronze Population. Still Triveni had more Bronzers than any other wing. It would be nice, if for a change they could grab up one of these boys and make them part of their wing.
Zahra was particularly interested in the second boy who was called in. P'len of Bronze Nargoth. He was said to have a Bronzeriding lineage which E'riol found interesting. His younger brother would actually be more of a fit if the stories surrounding the brothers were true but that didn't mean P'len couldn't work in Zahra.
"P'len of Bronze Nargoth, the Weyrlingmaster said he and his brother are pranksters and although that isn't a good quality the youth has others. He is an excellent flier, has leadership capabilities, he's well liked by his classmates and he is intelligent. His dragon is easily the best Bronze in the clutch." You couldn't get a better review than that from a Weyrlingmaster. Most of them were more interested in your faults than attributes.

W’lam had a great many concerns on his mind but he was still Wingleader of Pyralis in addition to Weyrleader and that impacted his perspective on things a bit. He ran a tough tight wing, more than that he needed a new wingsecond, and would be looking very closely at the current bronze and brown population.
He didn’t need notes, but he had found that clipboards with hides made for nervous riders, and nerves made for an interesting mix. This particular rider was not high on his list of must haves. His younger brother was said to fit far better in Pyralis, if M’ren’s judgment was to be trusted. More than that though W’lam wanted a realistic feel for the Weyrlings, He would be pushing all the wings hard.
Silver blue eyes fixed on the other wingleaders as he leaned back in his chair. He mentally did calculations on wing size, most were not anywhere near optimum potential. “Two Bronzes this clutch right?” W’lam pointed out the tone hinting that he wasn’t impressed. “Has he practiced with your wing yet?” he asks, “I’ve had a report myself from M’ren, I’d like to see more though, I haven't had him fly with Pyralis so I can't vouch for air.”

P'len was often a self-contained young man, and it usually took his brother, or a whole group of people to get him to forget who he was, and make him act out of character. At least, out of the character that he projected. Men who would making the initial decision about what Wing he wouldn't break him. He knew that he would be accepted into one of the top three Wings; Pyralis, Triveni, or Zahra. He was an excellent flyer, had a strong link with his dragon, and his dragon had the lines to catch a Senior Queen one day, and had the right kind of friends. Which one, however, was problematic.
Entering into the interview room, the tall, dark-skinned male, made a deep, flourishing, courtly bow. With a crisp, "Sir's," as he brought himself back up from the bow, he continued to stand, with his hands clasped behind his back. He'd sit if they gave him leave, but not before then. What could he say: P'len might have been Weyrbred, but he'd been trained finely in how to conduct himself.
With his face serious, though a smile hinted at the edge of his lips, and an outfit of (mostly) new leather, he looked confident, his age, and ready to lead.
