Rory had a lot on his mind this morning. Not only did he have a list of things a mile long to do still but he had to make sure that Nishor was cared for if he was to work late. Even Gadget was going to need someone to let him out for his evening run. The canine wouldn't rest until he had it and would all too likely have an accident. Days like this made him wish he wasn't so damn good at his job.
He took a tapestry down from the left side wall of the Weyrhall and brought it to the weaver's this morning. Someone had noticed some wear and tear on the old decoration. The day seemed to be going at such a pace that he didn't quite recall what the three jobs he had done between that and now were. It was the usual things. Luckily he didn't have to deal with too many residential issues. Most of his list had to do with more public things. Someone had done quite a bit of damage in the Creche earlier and there was something wrong with a couple of the flight rooms. He'd get them squared away first. One never knew how many greens would be flying on any given day.
Now that Sheluth was a Turn old, it wouldn't be long before the Gold would be flying herself. In that case he needed to make sure these flight rooms were perfect. If only fixing one's personal relationships were as simple as fixing inanimate objects.

Yes, N'zule knew that Rory was on duty, and he shouldn't bother him. Yes, N'zule was also aware that Rory might not be that anxious to see him. Yes, N'zule knew appearing with fruit and sweet rolls just because he got off Wing Practice early was silly, and one of the 'feminine' stereotypes that he'd been battling since he Impressed Green, but Del agreed that it was a good idea, and therefor it was.
No, seriously, it was. Delith said so!
So, he'd changed out of his sweaty leathers, washed, put on non-rider clothing, wearing a white shirt with purple and blue stitching, and brown pants, and had commenced to hunting down the drudge. And had finally found him.
"Hey, Rory, wait up!"

Rory was walking at a decent pace when he heard his name. He turned qucikly, recognizing it was N'zule almost immediately. The drudge smiled, having stopped walking, he waited for N'zule to catch up. What could the greenrider want? One never knew with N'zule, he was a rather complicated person in Rory's opinion.
"Good morning N'zule. You look wonderful." He paused, still smiling, " How is Delith?" Rory had respect for the dragon-rider relationship and thus always tried to make certain Delith was not forgotten in their conversations. He was pretty sure it helped keep him on her good side too.
Rory noted that N'zule was not wearing his leathers. The greenrider did look wonderful. The drudge would probably get caught admiring the rider's body if anyone noticed. As for Rory, he didn't look nearly as well dressed. Partly because he was working and partly because N'zule always seemed to be the better dresser.

"Morning." N'zule replied, smiling cheerfully. "Delith is being delightful as usual. Currently, she's sunning and flirting."
Looking in the direction that Rory had been walking only a moment ago, N'zule nodded his head in that direction. "Do you need to keep walking? Because I can talk as we walk."
Once that was settled, the Greenrider continued speaking. And started to blush- though only slightly- half way through.
"So, I was thinking you've had a very long day, and it's not even close to being finished, so I got you some fruit and some sweet rolls from the kitchen." N'zule's smile could have lit up a room much larger than the hallway they were in.

Rory smiled at Delith's current situation. Dragons were not bothered by what could happen, they only cared about what was at the moment. Lucky things. "Actually, yes, its a rather busy day for me today. Ummm, heading toward the flight rooms actually... apparently a couple of them are in need of repair." Not that he wanted to make things akward but they were the next things on his list. Besides N'zule would know how important they were.
The drudge was suprised, to say the least. N'zule had brought him fruit and rolls from the kitchen. The greenrider looked a bit embarrassed by it at first but then he seemed happy to have done something nice for Rory. Now he felt like a complete asshole, having to work so much today. If he weren't so busy he could have taken the rest of the day off to spend with N'zule. Still he couldn't very well ignore such a kind hearted gift from the greenrider.
"How about I take a break when we get to the flight room? Its private and we could eat in there." Rory had turned his head to watch N'zule's reaction to that carefully. He wasn't meaning to imply anything but of course it would be easier for him to get back to work if he was already there.

When several factors were not affecting N'zule's judgment, or emotions, he really was a fun man to be with, and also a man understanding of the need to do your duty. While his gift was sweet, he didn't want, or need, Rory to take time off of work to spend with him. They were, thankfully, still in the slow part of their relationship, and things certainly were nicer this time around. He liked it. The Greenrider hoped Rory liked it.
But if Rory wanted to take a quick break to eat, that was fine. And unless someone came crashing into the Flight room, it would be a perfectly nice place to eat, and talk for a few minutes.
"Sure," N'zule replied easily, still smiling. "You know, I didn't know what your favorite fruit was." The Greenrider looked discomforted. "So, I got the three I saw you eating the most." Did Rory even like fruit at all? Sometimes it was disturbing how much one didn't know about another despite all the time spent with each other.

Rory adjusted his pace so that he wasn't walking too fast for the greenrider but fast enough that he would be making up for some of the time he would be spending taking a break. The drudge was keeping his thoughts to himself at this point. To say he loved that N'zule thought about doing this for him made him happy would be an extreme understatement. He was ecstatic inside. This meant N'zule really really cared about him.
"Oh well I'm not too picky with fruit. I like all of them, but I generally go for whatever is sweetest." He was a sucker for sweet things, like bubbly pies and greenriders who thought about him on their time off. He smirked a little at that. He knew he was lucky to have convinced N'zule to give them another try. Especially after what happened between him and Nisha. Not that he would have traded that for anything, since it gave him his most beloved son.
Turning to his right, he made certain N'zule was still with him. "Do you have a favorite fruit?" He asked in return, since he honestly didn't know that either. He didn't really pay much attention to what N'zule ate, since he knew the greenrider ate healthily and exercised, he didn't think it mattered to much. He hadn't thought that it might be important in such an instance. Apparently he knew less about N'zule than he thought he had.

N'zule was shorter than Rory, though it didn't always seem that way. A good three inches. So they weren't walking all that fast for the drudge, but N'zule was only making it look easy. On the bright side, they'd be reaching the Flight Room quickly, so he wouldn't be walking this fast for far. N'zule hated feeling sort, and resolved to saying nothing at all about it. And to thank the egg that Wing Practice kept him fit.
"Sweets?" N'zule smiled. "I can see that." Rory's appetite for sweets was hardly something the Greenrider could have missed. And it was an adorable trait in a lover. As for himself, sweets were fine, but fruity sweet wasn't something he always wanted.
"Sours." N'zule said, and chuckled. Rory liked sweets, and, himself, sours. Now wasn't that stereotypical?

Rory laughed a little at their choices. Well then thats the way they were. Nothing horrible about that. "I hope you managed to get some sour for you then." He hoped N'zule would be eating too. He didn't much care to eat in front of people. Especially not those in as good of shape as N'zule. It made him self conscious. They were just upon the flight room when Rory moved a little more in front of N'zule to open the door for the greenrider.
"I just hope no one comes crashing in here, as fun as a foursome might be..." He joked but was truly hoping no one would come in here. He didn't get to spend as much time with N'zule as he wanted. If it were up to him, it would be almost every waking moment. Although Nishor took up a lot of that time, he couldn't say it wasn't worth it. He loved his son more than anyone else.
Upon entering, Rory was taking in the look of things. The door was fine. Bed looked old, that might just need replacing. In fact he'd reccommend that. "I hope the other beds are better than that one. No wonder people don't spend long in here."

N'zule chuckled at Rory's joke, still smiling brightly. He knew, from experience, that this was not an often used weyr. It smelled odd, and caught the odor of sweat a little too well. It wasn't a pleasant place wake up too. Not as bad as the place that was full of orange, purple, and green, but pretty bad.
However, when Rory added his comment, N'zule merely responded, without thinking about what he was saying.
"No one stays here because it always smells like sweat. Even if you are planning on staying with the person, it's better to go back to your weyr." Then he flushed hotly. Was it just him, or had the Greenrider been blushing a lot more today? Probably had something to do with the fact that it felt like a first date.
"Uh, so what are you doing in the Flight Rooms anyway?" No, N'zule didn't like discussing his Mating Flights with Rory. Could you blame him?

Rory nodded, "I can see and smell why. I may have to talk to the Headwoman about this. Its unsanitary." He looked at the dingy walls and the darkness of the place. He certainly wouldn't want to spend his time in here if he were a rider. The drudge ignored the blush of the greenrider. He wasn't going to make him any more uncomfortable by starting a fight about him being flown by riders. That was how things were. N'zule was a greenrider. He would be flown by other riders.
"I'm supposed to be fixing whatever is damaged but this is going to take a crew to clean out and then new furnishings, not to mention fixing whatever's going to be reused." The Headwoman would not be pleased to hear what he had to say but it had been a while since anyone had done anything to the flight rooms.
Hopefully this was the worst one. "Thank you for the food. Despite our surroundings, I think we can havea good meal together." Rory meant that in two different senses, one was obviously that the place was a mess and two was more directed toward any sexual things that the room represented to N'zule.

"Any meal with you is a good one." N'zule said, smiling, without a trace of shyness. Then he took a seat, and padded the place next to him with a more timid smile, one that continued to reach his eyes. And, if the Greenrider did say so himself, made him look quite delectable.
With an odd smile, the Greenrider moved onto more sensitive subjects, since they'd been doing so well that far.
"How is your son?" He didn't want to mention names, but he could at least ask. If Delith was N'zule's soft spot, his grand-nephew was Rory's.

Rory was a little caught off gaurd by that but he made sure that it didn't show on his face. N'zule was too touchy about such things. He didn't want to ruin what was shaping up to be a good day. The drudge caught the greenriders smile and couldn't help but smile back. Just because they were taking things slow, he didn't make any of the comments he would normally have made.
Slightly nervous, he sat down next to his ex lover, best friend and newest love. The green eyed rider was unaware of the thoughts swimming through Rory's head but the drudge was only too aware of old thoughts coming back to him. Rory fought them down so that he could pay attention to now.
This time, Rory, was not able to guard his reaction. N'zule had asked him about his son, directly. It was kind of a shock, since that was a touchy subject. " Nishor is well. He's been walking on his own. The nannies all say he is a joy to have around. He doesn't seem to mind that I'm taking care of him rather than his mommy. Then again, I guess he won't notice the difference for a while." It was obvious that Rory was concerned about being a man raising a child rather than a woman. He didn't want Nishor to be teased or told anything that was inappropriate because other kids didn't understand.
