Q'tre slowly and carefully made his way down the stone steps from his weyr to the Weyrhall. Fall was coming to Telgar Weyr again, and the old bronzerider could feel the pre-dawn chill in the pain in his knees and hands. The cold weather was really the only cause of his joint pain, but he was far too stubborn to move to a warmer locale.
He'd always been an early riser out of necessity, and he had not been able to break the habit since his retirement. Truth be told, Q'tre had not been getting much sleep at all lately, and one did not have to look all that closely to see the dark circles beneath his blue gray eyes.
The retired Weyrleader sighed softly as he poured himself some klah before gingerly sitting down. A few kitchen workers and drudges scurried back and forth, no doubt trying to work meet Yashma's high expectations, but none had the time to stop to chat with anyone, much less an old dragonrider. On top of that, bronze Tlanth remained deeply asleep on his stone couch, and Q'tre couldn't help but feeling alone, and more than just a bit useless, as he stared at the bright hot coals warming the hearth.

R'lec saw Q'tre and made his way over to talk to the older man hoping that he didn't want to be alone after all he was aware that the man was now retired but that didn't change anything with R'lec.
"Hello Q'tre, how do you fare at this early hour?" R'lec asked the older Weyrleader. Hoping that the man didn't mind the company.
