Appearance: Where his brother Enald appears distinguished, even in his relatively young age, Torant simply appears playboyish and lighthearted. He's a good looking man, like most of Lord Holder ilk, but his attitude and features combine to make him look less serious and responsible.
Torant is fairly tall, standing at or just about 6'0''. He prefers to keep his brown hair, just a shade lighter than Enald's, short but stylish. He has the same distinguishing large nose with a slightly hooked tip as his brother, and his chin is broad and sort of square. His neat brown eyebrows sit nicely on his wide forehead and frame his blue eyes neatly. His complexion shows that he lives in an area that can experience harsh winters, but also that he has the luxury of avoiding the sun during the summertime.
His clothing is of the cut that seperates Lord Holders and their kin from the lower ranks in the Hold, but the colors that Torant chooses to wear sometimes are what really sets him apart. Torant enjoys wearing somewhat guady, swank clothing with loud colors. He doesn't choose his clothing in order to scream, 'I'm better than you!' but rather to portray that roguish sort of bent to his personality. One of his favorite tunics is a bright orange one that's a bit tight in the chest area, and he looks good in it despite the ridiculousness of the color.

Personality: Torant is the kind of guy who has never really finished anything he has started. He really enjoys the excitement, the rush, the thrill of trying or starting something new, but he most often lacks the motivation to see things through to the end. This personality trait or defect, depending on how you view it, covers all aspects of his life; from assignments from his father, to relations with women. Torant means well, he never wants to see someone hurt because he loses interest, but he just can't help it. Its possible that he just hasn't found the right thing, the right project, the right person for him, possible, but not likely.
With that in mind, Torant isn't the backstabbing, scheming type of second son aiming to take down his older brother for the throne of Lord Holdership. Quite the opposite, Torant would never dream of becoming Lord Holder, and he wishes Enald a long, happy life in the position as his place as second son suits him just fine. There was always the slightest chance that Torant would be named heir, as there is the slightest chance that he may one day be named Lord Holder, but it would seem that he has been working to keep those chances exceedingly low.
Due to the fact that Torant likes trying new things, including new relationships, he is well versed in the charisma and suave needed to woo a lady. Torant is not at all stupid, the harpers from his childhood would exasperatingly tell you tales otherwise, but he just isn't known for using his wit and words for much more than charming women and keeping himself out of trouble. Torant has had more than his fair share of very short relationships up to this point. He believes in treating women with great respect and reverance, he's quite chivalrous in that respect, but he hasn't been able to show one woman the ultimate respect of fidelity yet.

History: Torant was born the second son to Lord Holder Delach and Lady Lamica. With a second son born into the bloodline, Lord Delach was given a bit more choice of who would become heir. That being said, if you ask Torant it was always completely clear that Enald would be heir and Lord Holder some day. Torant was and still is totally fine with the way things worked out, and he enjoyed the easy life of a Lord Holder's son with the freedom of not being next in line.
His brother Enald was confirmed as the Hold's heir when Torant was fourteen turns old, and the two boys completely went separate ways at that point. While Enald was pushed into extra training, large assignments, and such, Torant was comparatively free. No one seemed to be watching young Torant's interactions with the holder girls, a fact that he most certainly took advantage of, and he wasn't saddled with the responsibilities of running a breeding program. Torant was assigned to the Hold's Guard Captain for shadowing, but the assignment was short-lived as Torant began skipping out on those duties.
Shortly after he turned eighteen, Torant was sent off for a year of fostering at Southern Boll Hold. He was sent away in an attempt to keep him out of trouble, but all the While in Southern Boll, Torant learned how to man a small sail boat and small fishing skiffs, but he hasn't had much practice at that pastime since returning to Telgar. Torant also met the first girl that he ever considered marrying in Southern Boll. The girl, a first cousin of the Lord Holder, was exceptionally curvy and good-looking in an over the top sort of way, but her inteligence (or lack thereof) rivaled that of a wherry. Lord Delach immediately stepped up to keep the two from being married, and Torant moved on as if nothing happened.
While the next few turns kept Lord Delach busy with his duties and attempting to find the perfect wife for Enald, Torant was once again given quite a bit of freedom. Torant continued his string of short-term hookups with women, but eventually found another girl that he would consider marrying. This girl was smarter than the Southern Boll cousin, but her reputation with men matched Torant's with women and her status as a caravan trader would never do. So, rejected twice by Lord Delach's conservative view of women, Torant has merely continued to enjoy short relationships and a relatively responsibility free lifestyle.
