Father: Bronzerider L’var - To put it simply, Janirsa doesn’t like him. When she was little she did but then the favoring started and she grew to dislike this man a lot. Larissa was always his favorite because she was blonde and pretty which always bugged Janirsa. She had always believe she was fairly pretty but according to her father, apparently not. Now she doesn’t even give a flip for L’var, she could care less about him.
Mother: Headwoman Janesa - Janirsa is fairly close to her mother, having always liked her more and definitely been liked more in return. She still isn’t her mother’s favorite though and that still bugs her. She tries hard to impress her mother and she listens closely to everything Janesa says. One of the only people Janirsa semi trusts.
Brother: Bronzerider J’var - Janirsa used to be fairly close to J’var also but ever since he Impressed and definitely became their mother’s favorite she has become more of a rival to him. They still get along pretty well and she can trust him to a point but they are growing apart.
Sister: Larissa - Janirsa hates her, she is jealous of Larissa. They never really got along that well and she always saw all the attention Larissa got for her blonde beautifulness and was slightly jealous of it. She doesn’t feel threatened by Larissa but she still wants to beat her at everything and doesn’t like her. She think Larissa is a dead glow and is a waste, best a drudge.
Appearance: Janirsa is the “plainer” of the two daughters L’var and Janesa had. She doesn’t think she’s as ugly as her father seems to think but she knows she’s not the prettiest girl out there, especially compared to Larissa. While Larissa got the whole “tall, blonde and blue-eyed” thing Janirsa got the “medium, brunette and brown-eyed” thing. Her hair goes down to about mid-back and is just wavy enough so that when she puts it up wet and sleeps on it her hair becomes curly or if she brushes it and keeps it down when it’s drying it can be straight. Her hair is a rich medium to dark brown and it goes wonderfully with her lightly tanned skin. Janirsa’s eyes aren’t just any old brown either, they are a warm dark caramel brown. Her eyes are one of her best features, being big and rather expressive, though she’s learned to keep her emotions out of her eyes.
Janirsa definitely didn’t get her body from her mother because while her mother and sister are a little more curvy she is lean and model like. She still has a visible waist and curves but her hips are slimmer and her bust isn’t as big as theirs but big enough to draw attention. Her butt is cute and round but not big and she has long and thin but shapely legs that can certainly draw the eye to them. Janirsa is shorter than her siblings at about 5’7” but pretty tall for a woman. Janirsa is like a feline, lean and wiry muscled, fierce looking and she definitely has that sexy predator type walk that cats have.
With full pink lips, almost doe-like brown eyes and a pretty smile when she uses it Janirsa could be considered rather nice looking. She is definitely pretty, just probably not beautiful or gorgeous like Larissa. Her features are not soft but not really sharp, she has high and defined cheek bones, a thin and albeit pointy nose and big eyes with long, thick lashes. Her eyebrows are thin and arched just a little bit but not as much as some women. Janirsa likes blues, purples, green and yellows so those are the common colors you’ll see her in. She wears mostly dresses in bright shades of her favorite colors because that’s how her mother raised her but she does own pants and tunics which she wears once in a while. Her choice of shoes are either slippers, sandals or boots when she’s wearing something other than a dress.
Personality: Janirsa is not a very nice girl. While Larissa is very sweet and obedient and J’var is charming and ambitious she is ruthless, cold, ambitious, cunning and just an all around not nice person. Janirsa has learned that you can’t have everything automatically and though beauty and sweetness will help you, it can only get you so far. The ones that win in life are the ones that sacrifice, sweat and bleed to get what they want and she is definitely one of those people. She is actually a very hard worker and is willing to get down and dirty to get what she wants. And believe me, Janirsa gets what she wants.
Janirsa is a very determined and strong willed person, she sets her mind to something and does it. She doesn’t let people get in her way and really doesn’t care about anyone outside of her family. When it comes to the things she wants and that other people want she gets very competitive and loves to beat people at whatever it is. She doesn’t talk smack or anything, she just goes about her business and does whatever she needs to do to win and then gloats on the inside. See, Janirsa is a very secretive person, she doesn’t let others inside her head much at all. The only people that truly know her would probably be her mother and brother, but even they don’t know the full story.
Her fiery temper and cruel nature don’t make for a very good combination because when you anger Janirsa, you’re not getting off easily. She doesn’t forgive very easily and she definitely doesn’t forget, she’s more of a grudge holding person. It’s not that she’s so totally cold hearted that she will murder someone in cold blood but she definitely looks out for number one and is willing to hurt someone that hurts her, angers her or gets in her way. Janirsa is ruthless when it comes to anything and she will stop at practically nothing though she has enough heart and morals to not murder someone.
Janirsa is definitely not a social person. She doesn’t connect well with other people but she knows how to manipulate and lead people. While she isn’t incapable of having a heart and becoming close to someone, no one is worth her time right now. She has semi-high standards when it comes to close companions and mates and that’s why she really doesn’t have any. Maybe one day someone can get past her hard exterior and find the good in Janirsa, but then again maybe not. She could have the potential to be a good leader if she would start looking out for other people too. Generally though, she doesn’t care about others much.

Janirsa always hated being the middle child because she wasn’t the baby and she wasn’t the first born. She doesn’t remember much from when she was small, only not having as many toys and things as she would have liked to have. Once Janesa got a steady job and became Headwoman though they all had a lot more things. As a little kid Janirsa wasn’t as cold and ruthless as she is now, of course, but she wasn’t the sweet and happy child her sister was. She was more apt to throw fits and not be as loving, but she was still a cute kid.
When she was just a child she played with Larissa but when she became aware of the fact that everyone cooed over her sister and not her and that Larissa was just better liked Janirsa broke away from her sister. Her friendship grew a little stronger with her brother even though he still liked Larissa but she also began to depend on her mother more too. As a preteen everyone pretty much realized that Janirsa was going to be nothing like her younger sister. She was more distant and independent than Larissa ever was. Janirsa formed a strong bond with her mother, learning from the elder woman and always listening to everything she had to say. Then the competition between J’var and Janirsa started.
J’var officially became the favorite when he Impressed a bronze but it wasn’t like Janirsa didn’t want to become a dragonrider, there was just no gold. Janirsa’s main goal is to Impress a gold because then she would be the favorite and be even more important than J’var who is now weyrsecond. Janirsa only had one really good friend other than her family and that was another different little girl named Makalra. Makalra was also more distant and not so happy as the other kids and the girls clicked instantly. They were almost inseparable for a while but then something changed in Makalra and she became more outgoing and social. Janirsa was basically disgusted and they parted ways, Makalra basically becoming a second Larissa.
Speaking of Larissa, Janirsa always found it funny that her sister was best friends with a wimpy little boy. She used to tease both of them about it all the time and she got quite the kick out of it. Another thorn in her side became Laszreen who came to the Weyr from one of the holds and she instantly took a disliking to the girl. Janirsa ran this show and she didn’t like another prissy know-it-all invading her territory. Now she has some competition for any gold eggs that come out of the queens at Igen.
