Character Info:
Name: Tamzint
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Rank: Trainee Farrier/Candidate
Location: Telgar Weyr
Family:
Mother:
Danzelle, rider of green Llynoth, Telgar Weyr. 42 turns.
Father:
Kamirit, journeyman Smith, Telgar Weyr. 45 turns.
Siblings:
Irian, brother. 25 turns.
Kamizelle, sister, 23 turns.
Damyre, half-sister. 18 turns (Danzelle's daughter with M'reyn rider of blue Kelparith).
Dellam, brother, 16 turns.
Z'wen, half-brother, 15 turns (Formerly Zellwen, Danzelle's son with L'wen, rider of brown Mosrith. Impressed to green Carrieth at 13 turns.)
Ellem, brother, 12 turns.
Appearance:
If asked to describe Tamzint, the most commonly used words would be 'short, a bit chubby, could look better.' She's not the prettiest girl in the Weyr and nor does she try to be; she's quite comfortable in her own tanned skin and that shows in her every movement, whether graceful or not.
Her eyes are a somewhat murky colour, a mixture of grey, green and blue, shifting more towards one or the other dependent upon the light. They're not particularly bright, though they are perhaps a little too large for her heart-shaped face, with it's permanently rosy cheeks, soft cupid's bow lips and freckle-spattered, once-broken nose.
Her hair is rather unremarkable too, a mousy shade between blonde and brown, it is often tied into two frizzy bunches either side of her head, the curls rarely, if ever, under control.
Figure-wise, she's just your average Pernese teen. Already grown into her adult body, her 5'2 figure boasts an amply sized chest and rounded hips to match; if she lost some of the 'extra padding' around her waist, she'd probably have a half decent hourglass figure, but as it stands she's definitely on the plump side. Hidden beneath it all though, she's actually quite a strong little cookie.
Personality:
Generally a half-decent type, Tamzint finds that she gets along with most people, and them with her. She enjoys pleasurable company, and likes to make her presence known in the lower caverns by generally joining in with the noisiest of groups and participating in many of the games held, be they gambling, drinking or otherwise.
Some say that she would have been better suited to be a man, as she takes a definite interest in the more traditionally male arts, which was emphasized when she began studying under her father in order to become a farrier. Her love of runners is something that her father heartily encouraged in all of his children from a young age, and so Tamzint is happy to be able to spend most of her time in the stables or the forge, her two greatest passions.
Friendly, approachable, and considered to be a good laugh, Tamzint is the type of girl who'll take you up on a dare, who will be out there and in your face, though in the nicest possible ways. Outwardly, she seems to be quite fearless - except for when it comes to VTOLs. She's terrified of them!
History:
Being the middle child in a large family made no difference to Tamzint's growing years. Like most other youngsters, she was taken into the care of the Weyr's nannies and taught by the resident Harpers. While she didn't excel in her classes she was no dope either, preferring to work with her hands rather than her head.
One of Tamzint's best friends is her half-sister, Damyre, whose father, M'reyn, rider of blue Kelparith, got involved with Danzelle as a result of a mating flight. Damyre turned up nine months later, only to be followed 12 further months later by Tamzint. Being so close together in age gives them a strong bond, and the two share many of the same loves - runners, sparkling things, canines - though Damyre is decidedly the feminine Yin to Tamzinth's more masculine Yang. It's their differences in this way that many say keeps them together.
Her childhood being uneventful, Tamzint didn't really come into her own until she was invited by her father to take up Smithing. As she was good with her hands she decided to give it a go, combining her love of runners with her chosen craft to become a farrier.
As the training is intense she is still studying, working with Herders and existing farriers in order to improve her skills and knowledge, though she's getting the knack of it, slowly but surely. When not pounding out horseshoes, she enjoys making jewellery, a decidedly feminine pursuit which her mother is keen for her to develop for fear her daughter becomes too manly and will never marry.
The idea of marriage though has never crossed Tamzint's mind; as far as anyone is aware, she's never been in a relationship, and the general perception is that she must, in fact, be gay. Truth be told she isn't, however the very idea of tying herself down in a relationship is something that repulses Tamzint.
When she was first Searched at 14, she realized that her calling could, perhaps, be with the dragons. Damyre was also searched, which served to strengthen the pair's already strong bond. Neither impressed that first time, though they both decided to keep on trying until they either left the Sands with a dragon or were too old to return.
And this is exactly what Tamzint is doing, returning to Candidacy and the Sands when the time requires it, and studying her craft when not.
Colour preference is gold.
