Appearance: Tall, dark and handsome? Maybe. At least he has the dark part down. He has naturally dusky skin that takes on an even deeper shade if he spends a lot of time in the sun. His eyes are so dark brown they are almost black. He takes great pride in his full head of ebony curls. He truly wishes that he could grow his hair long, but being a dragonrider, that would be impossible, so he keeps it clipped short. He has a faint scar above his left eye, the result of an accident with a broken window as a child.
In build, he is slim and limber, limber from turns of being a dragonrider. He is fairly tall, about 6'0, and he weight about 155 lb. R'tor is very careful about his appearance, and he always tries very hard to appear neat and well groomed. He is picky about clothing, and only wears the best quality clothes unless he is going to be doing some dirty work that day.
Personality: R'tor has a great sense of humor, and he loves a good joke. He often thinks up innocent practical jokes on people, and he is always willing to take part in an elaborate prank. R'tor is a nurturing, caring person who enjoys helping others. He has a very calming nature and is good at getting others to feel better in times of trouble. R'tor just loves people, and he enjoys being sociable and spending time with big groups of friends. He also has a fondness for children, and will always be willing to babysit for friends if asked.
Partly due to his nature and partly due to the fact that he is a Greenrider, R'tor has a suspicion of controlling, bigoted men. He strongly dislikes anyone who looks down on women or chromatic riders, and he sometimes mistrusts bronzeriders. He tries to stand up for people who are being bullied. He often worries how the Weyr will change if such a controlling man becomes Weyrleader, but for the time being, he is happy with the way Weyrleader V'rak is running things.

He was cared for by his mother as an infant, but at the age of the three he was given to the creche to be raised alongside all of the other weyrbrats, and he had a very typical weyrbred childhood, exploring and playing around the Weyr, and doing chores in the lower caverns. His foster mother had no other fosterlings, and he had a lot of one-on-one attention from her, which was a beneficial thing although he was sometimes a bit spoiled.
Around the time he started candidacy, at age twelve, he also realized that he preferred boys to girls. Raised in the Weyr as he was, it was no big deal, and he took his sexuality in stride. It did mean that he could never be a Bronzerider, but most of his half-sibs had Impressed Blue or Green, and that was nothing to be ashamed of, either. He stood for four clutches before he Impressed to his beloved Green Falath.
Falath turned out to be a talented, meticulous flyer, and they graduated as one of the best Green pairs in the class. They were chosen for Zahra Wing. Despite the talent of his dragon, R'tor had a rude awakening coming to him. Weyrlinghood had been difficult, but being part of a real Wing was hard work, and the carefree dragonrider had some challenges getting used to the idea of being a full fledged, dutiful rider. In his first year as part of the Wing, he often got in trouble for being late or acting lazy during training. One of the most embarrassing incidents was when the Wingleader made him cut his hair in front of the whole Wing because he kept letting it grow too long.
After a difficult first turn, however, R'tor was beaten into shape, and he improved greatly as a rider because of it. However, he still had some gripes with the Wingleader, who he saw as arrogant and self-important, the typical definition of a bad Bronzerider. He usually managed to hold his tongue, but he had a few arguments over the turns until a new Wingleader came along. He was quite fond of E'riol, and settled in to the Wing much better with a Wingleader he actually liked.
Meanwhile, Falath's frequent Flights were adding another element of drama to R'tor's life. Falath was usually too shy to get to know the males well before a Flight, and her choice was usually unpredictable. Throughout the turns, R'tor has had a few weyrmates he liked all right, but none of them seemed good enough to settle down with. He has remained resolutely single, whether due to idealism or cynicism it's hard to tell.
When the timing plan was proposed to up dragonrider numbers in preparation for Threadfall, R'tor was one of the riders chosen. He was honored and thought it would be a good opportunity to really be involved in the future of the Weyr. He recently went between times with the other riders in the group.

Personality: Falath is very similar to her rider. She is sweet and loving, and she enjoys spending time with other dragons as much as possible. She loves making new friends among the other dragons, and sometimes has a tendency to get very attached to them. Humans are different--she is interested in them in an objective manner, but rarely speaks to them, and doesn't get to involved with them unless they are close with her rider. She is also much shyer among dragons of higher rank, and prefers to keep her conversation to other greens and blues.
