Age:
15
Gender:
Male
Rank:
Candidate
Family:
Father: Yuri (37)
Mother: Rinita (36)
Brothers: Edir (11), Dulen (5)
Appearance:
Sennaldor is of normal height for a teen of his age if not a little towards the taller side at 5’ 9”. He is fit, though not exactly toned for battle. His build is like that of a runner, mainly because he is often doing exactly that. Longer legs with strong calves and a high endurance are traits of his. His arms remain relatively weak do to his line of work. Sennaldor moves with long steps yet carries a quickness about him. Still growing he is by no means graceful, in fact he is sometimes quite clumsy, but he makes do. His skin isn’t white or bronze, but a healthy shade of one outside most of the time.
Sennaldor’s hair is a straw blonde and about an inch long. It also goes any way it wants to, which is normally straight up. Each individual hair seems to have a different idea on which way is up and because of this it goes every any way it wants making it look quite tangled. He stopped caring about the hair problem a long time ago. His eyes carry innocence in them and are a clear emerald green. Mixed with that child like innocence is a glint of curiosity, usually mistaken for mischievousness.
Normally his daily attire is a white tunic, normal for any commoner, and a brown vest that seems to be patched up in a few places. He also wears brown colored pants that are a bit to short for his quickly growing legs. Sennaldor also normally goes barefoot and his feet have become practically immune to any rocks or twigs he might step on. Still shoes are needed at times and he has a pair of black traveling boots, normally that happens when it gets cold in Lemos. Being so far north and in the mountains it tends to be cold a lot so Sennaldor has to switch out his vest for a jacket more often then not. Sennaldor doesn’t really have that much, however he has one special trinket that he holds dear and would never get rid of. A necklace with a tear drop shaped piece of white stone. It has no materialistic value, but the young man holds it very dear as he found it and made it himself.
Personality:
Sennaldor is hardworking and joyful. He enjoys spending time with others and goofing off while working, but he always makes sure that the job gets done. Most of the time he is seen smiling, and if something doesn’t go according to plan he’ll usually laugh. However, if what happens keeps things from getting done he’ll get irritable and will become silent until he fixes the problem.
Since he runs by himself a lot it gives him time to think. Sometimes he has his own conversations in his head, and though Ark has helped with his ‘problem’, Sennaldor will sometimes talk to himself among others. It also happens to make him very sociable as you want to talk when you normally don’t. He’s usually decent at communicating as well since he has to deliver messages by word of mouth at times. This also makes for a good memory. When messages are to be kept secret and sealed Sennaldor takes it seriously and considers integrity very important.
Sennaldor has many faults as most everyone does. The fact that he’ll talk with himself doesn’t help his image to much and he can get annoying since he likes to be sociable after running. Other times he works himself a little too hard and tries to be a little too joyful. He is rather protective of his younger brothers, and though he bickers with them he gets very angry at anyone who messes with them. All the same he can be pleasant and if anything seems rather innocent.
History:
Sennaldor was born in Lemos Hold. His mother was Healer, and though not a master she was decent at her craft and helped out at the major hold. A kind and hardworking woman she normally wasn’t at home as she tended to patients all around the hold. Sennaldor’s father is a woodsmith, he’s good at his craft and is a pleasant man that enjoys time with his sons. Sennaldor was being trained by his father to also become a woodsmith at an early age, as Yuri wanted to make sure his son had a decent craft to support himself with. However the young boy found a different calling. There was a need for delivering messages between certain parts of the hold, and though young it was found out that Sennaldor was quite fast and had a good amount of stamina. Therefore he became a runner, and though his father was frustrated that he would be working on a different craft then his own he understood it was a noteworthy ambition and was proud of his son.
Sennaldor is very close with his younger brothers and they look up to him in some ways. Being slighter in size then most Senn isn’t good at some of the games his brothers like to play. Though younger by four years Ennidor is nearly as tall as his Senn and is built much larger. If any joking around becomes a wrestling match it’s usually Sennaldor that gets pinned. Though it’s quite easy for him to bother Ennidor and then simply run away. Dulen is still younger and is pretty interested in playing in the dirt or ‘keeping watch’ for dragon riders. Ennidor is one that is easily influenced by common ideas and hates dragons and their riders, much like his father. Dulen, however, is a dreamer and loves to think of riders and talks about them constantly. Sennaldor pokes fun of Dulen, but in a way he respects his tiny brother for the dreams he might have. For himself Senn keeps up a front and when asked he’ll bash riders, however he has a soft spot for dragons and will talk with Dulen about them when no one is around.
Though he loved being with his brothers, whether he was running away from a fuming Ennidor or telling grand stories of dragons and their riders to Dulen, Sennaldor had much training to do for becoming a runner. In order to become accomplished at the craft he trains for a good portion of the day, and is often tired when he gets back. Sometimes he doesn’t train alone, as there are a couple other kids that wish to enter the craft. However most of them are older and don’t care for Senn as he’s usually outdoing them. So normally train on his own, keeping himself fit and expanding the amount of time he can run. In fact one training exercise that has become a favorite of his is actually leaving the Hold for several days and running south as far as he can. All that time alone gives him a lot of to think about and many times he’ll hold a conversation with himself. Truthfully he’s always wished for a companion on those long runs, but he’d never admit that to anyone. Still he gained in skill do to all his hard work and it appeared that he would make a fine runner someday.
However, his plans changed when a blue searchrider came to Lemos Hold in order to find candidates for Telgar Weyr. Somehow Sennaldor was chosen as one of the few who could go. His father was furious, saying that there was no way a son of his would go off to be a lazy dragonrider. Yuri had been expecting a runner’s life for his first born, and he though it dishonorable that the rider would even mention letting Senn go off and stand for some hatching. Ennidir was equally furious and believed that Sennaldor would be as well. After all he thought his brother was of respectable sort and would immediately turn the rider away in disgrace. Dulen was entranced and though he usually got slapped if he opened his mouth around Yuri he encouraged Sennaldor to go.
The boy was hesitant as he’d already figured out his future, he was supposed to be a runner, and his father hated riders. However the call of dragons was strong and in the end he couldn’t resist. His father was outraged, and though his mother hadn’t said anything about it she almost seemed to smile as Sennaldor made his decision. She was proud of her son as she remembered tales of dragon riders of old. Rinita would’ve been happy had her son remained where he was and become a runner, yet she was happy for the boy that he would perhaps become a rider. Of course she kept her feeling hidden from Yuri and merely nodded when he spoke angrily about his son. Dulen was overjoyed that Sennaldor would go off and fly the marvelous dragons he’d always dreamed about. However, Ennidir turned his back to Senn and wouldn’t talk to him, saying that he was no brother of his. Yuri practically did the same, only glaring at his son as Senn prepared to leave. When the bluerider came to take Sennaldor to Telgar only his mother and Dulen were there to see him off, the other part of his normally joyful family had no intention of seeing a despicable rider. Sennaldor was still hesitant as he left as he still dreamed of becoming a runner, but Dulen would hear nothing of it and told his brother this was the best thing he could possibly do. Surprised that he was taking the advice of his seven year old brother over his father’s made Sennaldor slightly confused. Leaving in confusion he barely noticed as the blue dragon took off and blinked into between.
