Family: Her mother, Peregrin, was a docile and sweet woman. Always supportive of her children, it is easy to figure out where Kanoni gets her compassionate nature. She started having children at the young age of seventeen, but she was also married away at sixteen by her father (also the father of seven other children, mixed of boys and girls). Peregrin is a source of warmth and wisdom for Kanoni. She is a homemaker, taught in the ways of the weaver-craft.
Zamir is her father, and he is a journeyman harper. He took on the post at Telgar Hold, where he met Peregrin's father through some of the other Holdsmen. Peregrin's father liked Zamir and pushed for him to ask for Peregrin's hand in marriage, and he did, finally. He has grown to love Peregrin over time, but at first, he only acquiesced because Ojai wanted it so badly. Peregrin knows this and is always grateful that it ended up working out. Zamir is where Kanoni gets her playful, impish nature. The man is highly intelligent, if not always attentive to his children, and Kanoni loves him very much.
Kanoni's older brother is twenty-six year old M'rle, and they are constantly bickering. M'rel can't go a day without correcting the young woman about something (and half the time, HE'S the wrong one!). He is a bluerider in Pyralis wing, and Kanoni is just glad they don't have to have that much conversation.
She has two younger sisters, Tori and Palila, who are eighteen and fifteen, respectively. They are not standing in the Weyr for hatching, and Kanoni couldn't be happier. Though she gets along with them, mostly, she wants someone to stay home and take care of her parents.

She shaped up a great deal, athletically, after Impressing Yanth, and couldn't be healthier at this point in her life. She is an attractive person, like most dragonriders tend to be, and she knows it, but doesn't really flaunt it.
Everyday workclothes consist of light browns and reds, and she does her own laundry. She wears thick, wherhide boots, generally, to work in, unless it is just too sharding hot. When it is particularly warm, she likes to wear sandals. Both boots and sandals are dark brown.
Her gather-wear is also red, though of a more crimson shade. She loves the color reflecting off of her hair, and when she wears the dress-and-pants set, it is hard to keep the woman out of a reflective surface. She hardly ever wears dresses, since she believes she is more useful in male's garb, but she will don a long, feminine tunic for a Gather. The red tunic is embroidered with gold and is perfectly fitted to her frame. It cost a pretty penny, but it was well worth it. She does own a dress. It is russet-red/brown, and she wears it to less dressy-events so she can leave quickly and get out of it and back into pants.

She likes to play pranks on her wingmates as well as other wings, and she can take it as well as dish it. Sometimes, she can be found on her ledge, laying next to Yanth and dreaming up more hilarious things to do to people.
A dark Kanoni is scary to meet, though. She can be quite the firecracker when angry, and to mix that with her sharp-thinking mind and tongue is veritable danger. Kanoni is also prone to say things she doesn't really mean when she is angry, which often leaves a situation worse than it had to be. She doesn't like to apologize, either, and she has lost more than one friend in this way.
But she is more often than not a happy girl, which is quite reflective of her upbringing.

At age five, she got her little sister and the answer to her hopes. She and Merle had already proven that they couldn't get along, and their parents had high hopes for this one. They named her Tori, and she grew up being spoiled by her bigger sister, even from that young age, when Kanoni would bring her home flowers and pretty stones and other things. The two grew up very close, and they still are.
Three years after that, Palila was born, the third girl in a line of three. She, too, was celebrated, but not in the way the three before her were. She got attention, but all the attention she has received as the youngest (as in, "momma's baby") has made her something of a brat. M'rle is close to her, though, and the two are practically kindred spirits.
By age ten, Kanoni knew she wanted to ride one of those pretty green dragons she saw every year during the Weyr games. They were so lovely, with their emerald coats, and green is her favorite color. And they weren't too big, like those gold ones, either. They were just the right size for fighting thread (which was coming back, Zamir always told her), agile enough to dodge it. At age fourteen, she was Searched and brought to the weyr (two years after M'rle), and at age fifteen, she Impressed green Yanth. Ironically, she and M'rle Impressed in the same clutch (M'rle to blue), which made for two turns of hellish torture while they were in Weyrling training together.
After they graduated from Weyrling Training, she was immediately tapped for Zahra Wing. She grins when she remembers her first payback for that particular favor. She pulled a nasty prank on the rest of the wing as a repayment, and they all got her back triple. It was then that her bond with the wing was cemented, and she is immensely proud to serve with such men and women as make up the Zahra wing. At one point, she punched her brother in the face for talking badly about Zahra riders...although no one knows if she took it as personal offense or was defending her Zahra brothers...and she'll never reveal.

Personality: Yanth is fun, cheerful, sweet, and very flirty. She likes Mating Flights, and says that Kanoni needs to meet more "fleshy males." Kanoni always retorts that Yanth sees enough males of any variety for the both of them.
History: Several of the multi-colored, mottled eggs hatched at once, and a dark brown (made darker by egg-water), two blues, and a green were born onto the sands. The brown stumbled quickly over to the candidates, crooning for his to come forward and greet him. Words accompanied the croon, and Impression was made. Soon, the light blue followed suit, and even slower, the green sister. She sat and crooned piteously, noticing the hunger in her even before the burning desire to have a lifemate. The desire set in, however, and she quickly carried herself to a girl who's behavior would best match her own.
Oh, Kanoni. The green crooned, and headbutted Kanoni in the kneecaps Yanth is so hungry...and happy to meet you, by the way, she said. Warm assurance wrapped over the girl's mind as the link was forged between the two.
