Svarth beamed at the little gold’s praise, ever the bronze as his beaten copper hide flashed beneath the water’s surface. Not a traitor, bronzes are supposed to listen to queen’s but the bite was my idea not Elfreth’s the weyrling’s mind voice warbled a bit underwater as he came up to his rider, rubbing his head against D’wyr side. It was a love bite D’wyr. the little bronze chirped. Before using his tail to help defend his rider against the assault of the females.
At the gold rider’s words the little bronze peered up plaintively at his rider. I am getting a bit tired and my muscles are starting to feel rather funny, but I can still battle! the little bronze informed D’wyr unlike his dragon still possessed commonsense. Grinning he called. “Svarth has no wish to stop, but I think that he is more tired than he realizes. I am fine but I think I shall concede today. He said as he started dragging his limbs through the water only to collapse on the sand to dry.
Indignant at the idea that he a bronze might be anything less than fit for action, Svarth trotted away from the water with more energy than he really had to plop his head firmly on his rider’s chest before calling out mentally to Elfreth. a truce for now, but only because D’wyr wants it. He stretched his developing wings letting the membrane dry in the sun, and closed his eyes content.

Laszreen nodded though she had no doubt that the Bronze pair was tired. Especially not now that they were lying on the beach. Elfreth was not in any particular rush to get out of the water and walked out, as clumsily as ever. Her rider was the opposite and didn't even have the gall to pretend to be tired.
Elfreth reached the shore first and walked past the Bronze pair, with every intention of continuing on without further comment. Laszreen had nothing more to say and needed to get Elfreth back to the Barracks to sleep. "We will see you around then." Laszreen added, the edge that was usually found in her voice was missing.
Perhaps she was being nice because Elfreth wanted her to be but Laszreen thought it might be because she was sick and tired of fighting with everyone. The only girl she had befriended since she had come here was in the infirmiry and the only person she trusted was not talking to her. She felt alone when Elfreth slumbered and instead of doing something about it, she threw herself into her new duties because that was what she felt safe doing.

The Igen sun felt fantastic, and D’wyr was in no hurry to rush off anywhere. He was surprised by the newest queen rider, a girl who under normal circumstances he couldn’t stand, and really hadn’t liked up until the splashing bout. He propped himself slightly up on his Elbows as she and Elfreth moved by. Careful not to disturb the sleeping dragonet.
“I imagine so, though don’t you two want to dry out first?” He smiled. Laszreen was almost cute when she wasn’t busy showing exactly how different their opinions were. Almost he added to himself sternly, as if admitting the girl wasn’t always a chore to be around would upset the universe. Elfreth’s a good dragon Svarth added sleepily opening a half lidded eye painted with a tired yellow. He again closed it
“Farewell then” he added in case she continued on without another word.
