The flight had long been out of her mind, and she was sleeping peacefully. Her first thoughts was of her satisfaction and she took a deep breath, realizing Aurath's contentment. The woman's eyes fluttered open and she was staring up. A man's arm was around her, because she felt him shift it under her neck. Then she remembered- Aurath's flight! Gwyn flushed at her nakedness, she would never get used to this. The greenrider slowly craned her neck to see the face of K'dyn. She had surely liked him in the past, since they had met, well over a turn ago. But she had heard he was involved with another, and she, well, she being as hold raised as she was, worried a little about his reaction.
Still, she was comfortable with him just then, and she didn't want him to wake while she was staring at him, so she settled back down, wondering when he would awaken.

Ortath was as usual fairly pleased with himself though more pleased that the green was as happy as he was. He waslaying next to her and glad not to move. He only wondered what K'dyn was going to say. While dragons rarely looked to the future, Ortath knew K'dyn was on the edge when it came to giving chase this time or not.
K'dyn woke slowly with a movement here and there. It seemed that both Gwyn and Ortath were waiting on a man who had no idea that they were there. He opened his eyes slowly, a smile on his face. He felt sooo good right now. At first he didn't put two and two together. Oh, right, Ortath had won and he was with Gwyn.
He slid his arm out from under her gently so that he could prop himself up and look at her. Noting that she was already awake he wondered if she was happy. He was but last time she seemed like she might be hesitant about him winning. Maybe it was because he was as well. He leaned in and kissed her cheek. "Morning Gwyn. Sleep well?"
The brownrider hadn't been this content after a flight, in well, actually, he hadn't ever been this content. He must have had some sort of sexual tension before the flight. K'dyn couldn't help but caress a strand of hair out of her face. He had always thought her beautiful. Of course he was horrible at talking about that sort of thing but he probably should let her know at some point.

She didn't have to wait long for him to wake and shifted so that he could move his arm. She looked up at him and when his lips brushed against her cheek she smiled serenly. She was very happy in this moment, and wished it could have lasted forever. She had been waiting all her life for a man to come along and treat her nice, and K'dyn was the closest she had. Perhaps not perfect in the way she had dreamed, but close enough for now. She knew better than to get her hopes up seven turns into riding, but it was nice that he didn't just get up and leave her.
"I slept very well, did you?" She really hoped he did, he didn't seem regretful, nor did he make things awkward, which she was greatful for. It was very sweet and comforting, her care melted away. She rather fancied she could get used to this. Love, you should be caught by Ortath more often. I wouldn't mind. . . was all the contented green could offer. She did not want to be disturbed, so close to her victorious brown.
And conversation would have ended with his tender brushing away a lock of her hair. Her stomach was filled with butterflies, and she was happy. Gwynhaver smiled softly again, and wondered if he would take the time to really get to know her now, or if he would just show up again when Aurath flew. She hoped they could get along, she liked him a lot. "What do you want to do today?"

He was feeling very refreshed and had no regrets. That was the part that should be troubling him but it wasn't. "I slept very well too." He smiled. K'dyn couldn't help but want to make her happy. He wasn't perfect by any means but he knew that he had growing feelings for Gwyn and it would be better to act on them then sit around and wait for another man to present himself.
"Actually, I don't have any plans. Do you?" The Brownrider wouldn't mind spending some time with Gwyn. Then he could feel better about the last time. He had been in a bad place mentally, then. Now he knew that as usual his dragon was right.
Though K'dyn didn't mind talking, he was a bit unsure of what to say to her now. She deserved better than him. He didn't want to think about that though. He also didn't want to think about getting up. He was so comfortable. It would be nice to hold her again, that felt good, but K'dyn knew better than to claim anything from her just because he had won her flight.

When he asked her what she wanted to do, she was flattered. Well, he hadn't really asked her out or anything, but he asked if she had plans, as if he would ask her to do something if she didn't. She smiled at him, hoping that he liked her best, in a competitive sort of way, and said, "No, but I was thinking maybe going for a ride some where different, to get a new scene if only for a few hours." Yes, a trip between always came after flight. Gwyn didn't think she could handle having a child with a man she did not know would stick by her. Even in the Weyr, she still thought of parenting as a two person job, even if they wouldn't raise a baby themselves. So yes, before she even knew or not if she conceived, it would be better to take a ride somewhere. Anywhere. But she wasn't going to just talk about her feelings to just anyone. It was better this way. "Would you like to see the beach, or the skybrooms? If you'd like to do something with me, that is."
For right now, things felt so right between the two of them. Things hadn't been odd or the morning rushed. She wasn't sure now if she should admit to liking him for this past turn, or if that would disrupt his life. . . She'd hate to do that. But maybe she should talk about it. Before she made more of a fool of herself, Gwyn had to ask, "K'dyn, are you involved with any one right now?"

Being a male, K'dyn didn't equate the trip with her wanting to Between somewhere. In fact he just thought she wanted to get away from the Weyr after the flight to avoid some of the men. "I would like both, so whichever is your preferred place to visit and of course I'd like to do something with you. I was hoping we could get to know eachother better..." K'dyn knew that Gwyn might not want to be that close to him but perhaps it would be better.
Ahh. He hadn't been expecting that question but he did know that women were rather competitive creatures as well. They, much like dragons liked to be first and foremost in a man's thoughts. "No, I'm not. I was, for a while but, no, not anymore." K'dyn could be honest about that. While he still cared for Kanoni, he saw her more like a sister now.
"I know I wasn't all that attentive to you before and I am sorry. I was not in a relationship then either though. I was just about to be in one and I hope you understand I don't want to hurt you. If you have anything to ask me, I'll be as honest and straightforward with you as I can." Honesty was something that seemed to be ingrained in him though he very much doubted she would ask a lot of questions that would make him want to lie. "How about yourself? Any men in your life?" At least any he should know about...

She could not help but smile when he said he wanted to get to know her better. She was glad, and hoped he wasn't just saying that. There were men she knew that would, and she was finished being in a relationship with out any love. But as she was trusting by nature, she concluded that he gave her no reason to not be truthful. Besides, Ortath had caught Aurath for a second time now. "I'd like that very much."
Then the moment of truth for her, would he tell her what she didn't want to hear? It could possibly break her heart now that she had just resolved that he was a good guy who meant well. But she gave an internal sigh of relief, he was not taken. She answered quickly, "Oh, I understand, that's fine. I wasn't expecting anything." And she hadn't.
"No, no men but platonic friends, and of course my father." She smiled faintly in thought. Her father was a brownrider, a very nice man if she ever met one. He had always just wanted her to be happy, like he was with Gwyn's mother. Though love like that, well, it was one in a million, or so she thought. There was K'role, her greenriding friend, and she had a few other aquaintences, including the brownrider she had danced with at the feast. But nothing romantic.

K'dyn was beginning to realize how they were having a serious converation while lying in bed, naked. He smiled at her and put his fingers through her hair. "I'm glad for that as well. You should expect the best, I shouldn't have let Ortath fly Aurath the last time. It was against my better judgement, but you see, he has quite the crush on her. Now, I feel much better about the flight, because I'm not about to be in a relationship with anyone else." And he certainly didn't plan on going anywhere.
Good thing Ortath wasn't listening in, or he'd be getting talked to. Her father eh? He hoped he didn't have to meet any fathers anytime soon. They were generally overly fond of their daughters.
"I have no inclination to get out of bed..." He said with a sleepy sigh. "Too comfortable in here."

Gwyn giggled at the part where he said Ortath has quite the crush on Aurath. "He did, did he?" He was so sweet, it was hard for her not to fall into the moment and be infatuated with him. She smiled softly, "Well I am glad you are open with me, I appreciate it. I wasn't in my best either, I had just gotten out of a situation that had lasted much longer than it should have. Emotionally I wasn't really ready anyway."
She was wondering then, if by what he said indicated he was not really interested in a relationship now, with her. She didn't let it bother her the last few times Aurath was caught, and she wasn't about to this time. She was certain when the right thing came around, she'd know.
Gwyn settled in next to him, glad for the peace of it all and sighed, "Yeah, me neither. It feels too good to leave bed right now." However, she would not be talked out of going for a ride later.

He realized that he had actually said something right...for once! Or maybe it was because Gwyn understood what he meant when he spoke and wasn't overly concerned about what each detail meant. After all he didn't generally put a lot of thought into what he was saying. He'd wager there were many men who had the same issue.
"Oh yes. He'll deny it if anyone asks." His dragon didn't want other dragons to know. Aurath was free to have whomever she wanted and Ortath wasn't going to make himself more known than he already was. K'dyn could only guess that the brown figured himself one of her favorites too.
His stomach grumbled slightly. "Looks like I need to get out of bed anyway. Not only does flight work up an appetite but sleeping past when one usually eats doesn't help." He sat up and looked about, where had his clothes got to? "I'll go get us something to eat if you want to remain in bed..."

(swore I had replied to this before... ho hum.)
Gwyn giggled at his vow of Ortath's denial. Was she not the same way? As a girl, she would crush on a handsome boy at her grandfather's hold and tell her sisters. For their part, they would tease her and threaten to tell some one else-even the boy! Mortified she would aways deny the attraction from then forth. Why, she was not sure. Probably because she was so afraid of rejection.
She too sat up as he rearranged himself, looking around. Yes, food would be good, even if she would probably peck at her food like a bird. She was pretty thirsty. But when he suggested she could stay here, she protested, "Oh, no, I'd like to go with you, if you don't mind."
Gwyn made to take the sheet to scoot out of bed for her clothes, and blushed at her modesty. Twice now he had seen all of her, so why was she still caring to cover herself. So instead she just got out of bed and quickly found first her underskirt and then her actual dress. But where were her soft slippers?

There was barely a moment to respond before she was out of bed and completely naked at that. A normal person might have gotten over that but K'dyn was a bit strange, so he sat there watching her gather her things. He regained his common sense quickly and got out of bed too.
"Well so long as you want to, I don't mind at all." The Brownrider suceeded in finding his underwear...on the other side of the room. How in Faranth's name? He really didn't want to know. His clothes were closer to the bed. He made quick work of putting his underwear and pants on. As he picked up his shirt he found a pair of comfortable looking shoe, things. He'd never owned shoes like that.
"Looking for these?" He walked over to her with the pair of shoe like things in his hands. They were soft. He kept them up out of her reach. "I'll give them to you, for a price..." He winked.

Good, he hadn't objected to her coming with him. Then he wasn't going to be embarassed to been seen with her-it was a great comfort to a shy girl like her. A compliment, really. They each dressed, and she hadn't noticed that he lingered in watching her. Once they were each done, and she looked up at him. Would he offer her his arm? He offered her her slippers. They didn't have much of a sole on them, but enough tanned and worn smooth leather to be good for walking around the Weyr. Not good for outside, or dancing with partner who would step on your toes.
She smiled and took them, "Yes, those are mine." She slipped them on quickly, and then shrugged a little to say she was ready. Out of habit each of her hands gripped part of her skirt.

He didn't have a chance to pull them away teasingly when she quickly snatched the slippers out of his hands. The brownrider smiled and went back to putting his own clothes on. He had everything on when he went in search of one sock that had disspeared. Stupid sock monsters...he'd just have to go without one sock.
K'dyn promptly began to put on his boots. He was wearing his riding gear after all. Hopefully Gwyn wouldn't care too much that he wasn't going to go change. Who knew with women... one second they were happy and the next angry and upset.
Noting that she was done dressing he smiled and offered his arm. A gesture that she might see as honorable and that he saw as a way to have her touch him. He did like women in the sense that he was attracted to them it was the mental/emotional part of them that sent him running the other way.
"Ready then?"

She smiled at him, oh, she might reward him handsomely if things panned out. For right now she just kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you for saving my slippers for me and saving me the indignity of walking around barefoot, sweet dragonrider." Gwyn liked him a lot, he seemed nice. Though usually they all seemed nice-the day after.
K'dyn had actually offered her his arm. She smiled softly, it was indeed chilvarous of him. Many women in the Weyr didn't think they needed a man-and they probably didn't- but she liked the idea of having one man around. Even if it was impractical and hard as a greenrider. With her, she had to be in flights, so jealousy could prove a problem. But still, she liked to be on the arm of a man, she liked his attentions, she liked devoting herself to just one man. Gwyn took his arm and said softly, "Let's go then."
