There had been no change in behavior. Barsamith had been more closemouthed than usual, and had spent more time sunning, eschewing her time with Nisha in exchange for a better spot, and more interesting sun-mates.
And Nisha had quietly accepted it, feeling no lessening of love, and spent her time doing chores in better detail, and working on regaining lost strength. And then the day came where everything made sense.
It was time, for the girl who'd experienced Flightlust for turns, to experience true Flight. And she couldn't say that she wasn't terrified, because she felt feelings that she hadn't felt since she conceived Nishor.
And Barsamith was the source of it all.
I Fly! The Green crowed from her place on a rock. Who chases?
And Nisha, dressed in a brown skirt, came running for the Flight Room she'd known about for years, but never ventured into. Her hair was awry, her brown eyes wide, and her lower lip bitten.
All she could think was that she hoped one of her friends from the turns before Weyrlinghood would come visit. This wasn't an event she wanted to wake up with a stranger after.
But that thought was blown away by the being that was Barsamith.
I Fly! The Green cried once more, and then she pounced up into the sky, racing away from the Weyr, caring only for the feeling of wind on her wings!

While the first flight Varanth had taken part in had not turned out successful for the young brown, G’eph could not find complaint in the aftermath. Many of the lower cavern women, it seems, were also affected by the flight and it had been easy for the dark sailor to find a willing partner. The best part was that the woman had seemed just as eager to leave him once they were done. He had a hard time believing that the experience would have been better if his dragon had caught the green.
So when Varanth announced to his rider that he would give chase again, the tall brownrider smiled broadly and rolled off his hammock bed he had been lounging on. I don’t mind the thought of another flight. Catch her this time ya hear?
I plan to. The brown gave out a roar in response to the green’s call, I chase you, Barsamith. You had better fly fast!
The name of the green made G’eph stumble on his way over to the flight room. Char it all, that name sounded familiar, but why couldn’t he place a rider? It was from his weyrling class… Ya know, I’m not so sure I want you chasing someone I’m going to be seeing every day... The sailor loved simplicity and he couldn’t even begin to see how a flight with a classmate could keep things the way they were. The rider, however, did not receive a response from his brown.
Making it into the flight room dressed in dark leather riding pants and loose shirt with the neck open and comfortable, G’eph caught sight of Nisha as Varanth’s mind began to tug at his own. If G’eph had noticed the young woman before the flight, his brown’s growing lust made her truly stand out from any he had cared to notice before.

Faster than the wind! Barsamith taunted, dancing in the sky. She dove, and rose, flickering through the air. She was not blood crazed, and wanted to see if her chaser would try to catch her, or impress her first.
Curiosity, that kept her close. The Green could, and would dart away as soon as the Brown tried to catch her, and she was looking forward too it. She knew what chases were like, from both gossip, and primal instincts.
Can you Fly as fast?
Nisha was gone before G'eph had even entered the room. On some level, she and Barsamith recognized the Brownrider. He'd been nice to them back before Nishor, during Weyrlinghood. It relaxed her some, which was a very good thing. The last thing Nisha needed was an unpleasant first Flight.

I can fly fast enough to catch you. the large brown bugled back, pumping his wings to pick up speed. It was easy to tell that size made a difference in agility as the green danced around him, but it did not discourage him. The teasing only increased his hunger for the green and the lack of competitors left him at ease as he attempted the catch again and again.
You are quick, lovely Barsamith, but I learn fast. Judging her next movement he jumped in front of her hoping to cut off her quick turns. Yes, he was enjoying the challenge.
G’eph was with the brown and he was enjoying the flight just as much. It was far more playful in manner than the last had been. As the brown realized the green would be his with no other competitors and began to enjoy the teasing flight, so did the rider. Stepping forward, he caught the curly haired woman at the waist, pulling her lightly into him. There was still the chance another male would decide to follow the pursuit, but why not enjoy the flight to the fullest if they were the only ones for the moment?

When the large bulk of Vanarth jumped in front of Barsamith, the nimble Green rolled backwards and dropped straight down towards the ground, flaring her wings out at the last minute to pull up into an even ascent back up into the sky.
Naughty, naughty! Barsamith scolded, but in a flirty way. She liked this Brown. Much more tact than she suspected most dragons would show. Especially Bronzes. Two fast and hard wing strokes down, pushing herself back up to where she'd been before.
Don't think you can just push me around! Barsamith said severely. Not if you hope to tempt me to be caught by anyone!
Nisha leaned into the much taller sailor's embrace. Her hands stroked his broad back, stopping once to scrap his back with her nails, giving him the same warning her lifemate gave his own brown.

Vanarth folded his wings to follow just behind her. Surprised at her quick climb again, he spread his own wings wide just catching himself before the ground. Letting out a angry roar as he realized he had been dumb enough to watch the green more than his surroundings, he let his own large wings pull his bulk back into the sky after the female.
Who said I needed to tempt you, Barsamith? Look around, you are mine and I will take you. Putting his strength into his movements to match his words, it was not long before the larger dragon made up the space the green had put between them with her dive. No, he would catch his green even if it took him all night to do so.
Coming up below her, he matched her speed and crept closer hoping to catch her from below – and if nothing else, keep her from making such a dive again.
In the mean time, G’eph found his breath growing ragged at the touch of his classmate. His own hands held her more roughly against her as he sucked in his breath at the feel of her nails biting at his skin. Wrapping one arm firmly around her slight waist, he used the other to tilt her chin upwards, kissing her with his rough lips as his dragon made another attempt to catch the green.

Tsk tsk. Barsamith declared, twisting away from the brown, and off to the left, spiraling down, and than up, climbing fast up and up and up. The green was offended. She was fair certain that the brown had said she wouldn't get any other followers.
The others, she decided, were simply to afraid to try and chase her. And that was no reason for herself to be caught by this brown if she didn't want too. He was going to have to work hard for that privilege.
I won't go anywhere if I don't want too. She declared from her superior vantage; at least for the moment. Then she shot off, flying quickly away from the Weyr.
Nisha made something that sounded suspiciously like a moan, and one of her hands reached up, placing it on G'eph's neck, pulling him down so she could reach his lips better. Then, just as suddenly, she pushed away from him, and danced back, giggling.

Watching the green rise higher into the air excited the brown more as he continued to chase her. He knew well enough that the higher she was, the farther the fall would be. Leaving the Weyr behind, he gave another deep throated roar as he continued his pursuit. Staying just behind her and on her right side, he rumbled again and again as if to urge her on.
G’eph found his body heating up as she pulled him down for the kiss. His hunger, like his dragon’s, mounted as she put distance between them once again. Using the space, he reached over his head and grabbed the neck of his shirt pulling it off with a smooth movement to show his muscled arms and chest. He was every bit what a dragon rider could be.
Dropping the shirt, he made a step forward once more as his dragon caught an updraft of wind to move slightly above the racing green. Folding his wings, just enough to drop, the brown made another reach for the green as G’eph used his reached out to catch Nisha’s hand with full intention of pulling her back to him again and getting rid of some of that material that still covered her.

Barsamith didn't want to admit it, but she was slowly tiring. She wasn't the largest of Greens, and while she and Hers did practice flying regularly, she didn't have the energy to keep it up. Not that she would ever admit that. Glancing over her shoulder, she looked the Brown over once again. He was a fine looking brown, she decided, and he did chase quite well...
What are you waiting for? Barsamith demanded. I must confess, I am quite interested, but you're taking forever! Her eyes whirled with amusement, and she put on one final burst of speed, just because she could.
Nisha abandoned all pretenses. Unlike Barsamith, she didn't feel the need to make a point. She felt the need to do other things however. Purring with enjoyment over G’eph’s naked torso, she decided to add a little to the stakes, and unbuttoned her dress, allowing it to fall onto the ground. Taking the hand that G'eph offered, she allowed him to pull her close, and then hoping he was off balance, she attempted to push him down, and a bit to the side. That way he would fall onto the bed, and she could have her way with him.

Vanarth took her demand to heart, putting every last bit of energy he had from the already long flight to pull himself above her. Intertwining his neck with hers, he folded himself around her forcing her to fall with him. The first flight for the both of them, he followed his natural instinct during the fall…
G’eph could not hide the growing pressure in his pants nor the look of pure desire in his face as he watched the dress fall from her frame. By the shell, what a woman. Feeling her push, he let himself fall as he caught her waist with one arm and brought her with him. Running a hand over the curly hair he had admired more than once, he pulled her to his lips as their dragons finally connected. It felt right. It felt good.
~~~
Vanarth finally slowed the fall and guided his green home to his own ledge to spend the rest of the night keeping the lovely thing warm and cozy. G’eph had similar ideas, pulling Nisha against him and wrapping his arms lightly around her as they both fell into content sleep.
Nisha didn't sleep much, as a general rule. No matter how comfortable the bed was, or now warm she was. Waking up was a slow process. First, she realized how nice and warm and comfortable she was. Then she realized there was someone else in this bed. The greenrider blinked, and figured out that it was a male. And through the next twenty minutes, and a quick conversation with Barsamith, she knew exactly what had happened, and who it had happened with.
G'eph.
She wouldn't lie to herself, and Nisha admitted freely that he was a very attractive man. That didn't make it any less obvious that he was in her Weyrling class, and that she was naked. Using tricks she'd learned after several turns of an exceedingly high libido, she slipped out of the bed, and started to replace her dress, working at being as quite as possible, knowing that it only worked most of the time.
G’eph was not a stranger to a bedroom and with the women he did bunk with when he chose to, it was no surprise he was used to waking up to find himself alone in the bed. Most women, however, managed to escape in a matter of minutes. Nisha had not been so quick, however, and during that time the brown rider had managed to be dragged from his own peaceful sleep.
Laying still as she worked her way out of his arms, he finally opened his eyes to find her back to him as she was replacing her dress. He had never been bothered waking up alone in the morning, but upon seeing her preparing to leave he could not deny that he wouldn’t have minded feeling the touch of her again. Classmate or not, she was still beautiful after the lust of flight had passed.
Propping himself up on his elbow, he watched her without realizing his eyes were dancing and a half-smile played on his lips.
It hadn't worked. Nisha sighed, well aware that G'eph was staring at her back. She didn't know what she was going to say, so she continued to button up her dress, wondering about how easy would be to just walk right out of the room.
Samith? How are you? Nisha asked her dragon, fixing her curly hair as best she could(it was much harder than people thought, even now that it was short), and wondering what she could get out of the kitchen. Eating sounded very wonderful, and she should probably consider going to nurse Nishor at some point.
Tirrred. The Green informed her, from her spot in the sun. We'll swim later then.
And with that, she headed towards the door. Yes, avoiding dealing with any awkwardness that came from the Flight was a good idea.
The once sailor watched as the woman fussed over her curls and found himself amazed at how he wished to run his hand over them once more. He couldn’t help it, he had enjoyed the feel of them even more than he had ever thought last night. Even so he refrained and waited patently for her to notice he was awake.
He was disappointed as she headed for the door without so much of a glance.
Hours after the fact he would wonder why he spoke up, but just as she reached the doorway the brown rider found himself speaking. “Barsamith flew well. We enjoyed the chase.” And by we, G’eph meant himself as much as he meant his brown, who would be telling the rider how pleased he was for the next sevenday.
Shard it all. Nisha thought vehemently. He couldn't have waited until later to do this? That was not nice at all. Nisha bit her lip nervously. For a second, she considered responding, and then booking it in the opposite direction.
However, she had a sneaking suspicion that G'eph wouldn't leave her alone if she took the cowards way out. Besides, he was holdbred wasn't he? He should find this more embarrassing than she did. Far more.
So, she turned around, and looked him up and down. Still naked, and very, very attractive. You've seen better, she reminded herself, trying to keep herself from looking foolish. Or saying something foolish.
"It was a good Flight. We're glad you chased." Nisha paused, and tried to think of what else she was suppose to say. She knew Flight etiquette, so this should be simple. But she was drawing a blank, so she didn't say anything at all, and just smiled.
