Kia nodded to Janesa respectfully. She hoped that the older woman did not see her presence here as a threat, but would not be overly surprised if that had been the case. She'd come, originally, not for the eggs but to speak to her superior. "Yes, ma'am."
After the Headwoman and Weyrwoman left with their respective eggs, Kiaran stepped forward. She was not eager to be cheated, but nor would she cheat the Green and his partners out of the money that they had earned by finding these rare finds. Instead she discussed the price with the Green Rider and came to a price that would not break her but was fair for such a remarkable opportunity.
Satisfied, she paid the man what she had and made a promise to give him the remaining marks later that day. Content, she picked up the egg and cradled it gently. She would need to find a warm place to keep the egg, and make sure to keep meat on hand when it hatched - she assumed that protecting and caring for a fire-lizard would not be that dissimilar to the early steps that were taken regarding Dragons themselves.
She returned to her own quarters and found a warm safe place for the egg. Once that was done, she headed to Janesa's office, hoping for a pleasant (or at least not a not-pleasant) meeting with her boss.
