While the knowledge of Ariashi's dislike of the Lady Holder had reached the wonman herself, Sulia was mistaken about one thing. The Headwoman was just as loathe to spend the day with her as she was. And the Headwoman would not have bothered to accept a chance to make the Lady miserable, if only because it meant she would have to not only think about her, but probably spend time with her, too.
Ari watched Merrek leave with a tinge of desperation. Surely he wasn't going to make her start with Sulia this moment? Apparently he was. She made good use of her mug to stall for a second, to come up with something civil.
"It seems we start now. Because you were previously a Lady's Maid, I think you sohuld already know not only what most of your duties should be, but have seen how you should be doing them," her voice, while pleasant enough, held the boredum she anticipated feeling. She hoped very fervently that Sulia had been as good a Lady's Maid as she'd heard. "Because of that, I'll give you the choice of what you'd like to go over first if you wish."

Call it off, call it off-, but Sulia had no such luck. Merrek was off, leaving her alone with Ariashi. Feeling a little depressed, she lessened the intensity of her smile, and turned to pay attention to what Ariashi was babbling about.
And then had to choke back a chuckle.
Obviously Ariashi hadn't bothered to see what kind of a lady Holder Yonne had been. Yonne, was at best, incompetent, and lazy in that regard, and hadn't known anything to pass onto her handmaiden. Shifting forward slightly, Sulia winked.
"It's been a while, so why don't we just start off with what you normally do." There was a slight pause, and then Sulia continued, her voice tinged with amusement. "After all, I need a, mmm, full understanding of your duties."

Ari pursed her lips, having been afraid of this. She had not bothered to research the previous Lady Holder herself, assuming that every Lady would naturally know how to care for a Hold. She had never wanted to consider the idea that there would be more Ladies like the one in front of her. The Headwoman took a second to cool her temper and shuffled a few things around her desk, coming up with list.
She glanced over it, then slid it over to Sulia. "At the start of every sevenday, I receive lists from various parts of the Hold," she started off, not bothering to list what parts those were. The list she'd handed over was segmented according to those parts, consisting of, but not limited to: kitchens, women's quarters, men's quarters, mixed quarters, creche, and the segment of drudges that took care of the Lord and Lady Holder. "It contains an overview of any costs, a brief list of what they've done, what they still need to do and if they have an specific needs."
Of course the list had started out as several, but she usually either compiled them for ease or went around and spoke to the heads of each section, taking notes as she went. "This is the basis of determining what routine to start with. Whichever area you think should be dealt with first, will be dealt with first." Her quick glance and sharp mind had ensured that she'd already memorized the content on the list, so she indicated she wouldn't need it back. "It is then your responsibilty to take care of everything before the sevenday is over. It is acceptable to pass on some of the minor issues to other, capable persons, though it is usually better if you just do it yourself."
Ari sighed, already bored from having to explain this. She continued, voice dull, "For today, since it is obvious neither of us wish to be together, pick something from the list to take care of. I don't care what it is, just be sure to get it done, then report back to me tomorrow." The Headwoman was, if anything, frank. Besides, she had things to finish up and didn't want the Lady tagging along.

Sulia nodded slowly, trying not to grow displeased with Ariashi's tone. This was a little bit more basic than even she named. And when Ariashi came out and said that neither of them wanted to spend time with each other, Sulia was shocked. No one was that blunt with her- though, Ariashi's position wasn't about to change no matter how much Sulia hated her.
Nodding slowly, Sulia stood up, and glanced down at the lists. Deciding that taking on the one that would require the least amount of work, and cause the least amount of problems if she messed up, Sulia chose the list about the servants who took care of her and Merrek. After all, that would leave her with enough power to make Merrek's life miserable without angering the rest of the hold.
Lifting the list off the pile, Sulia graced Ariashi with a slight nod, and sauntered out of the Headwoman's office.
Irritating woman.
