Jeyna laughed at the exuberance she was greeted with when she woke up. "Hope you weren't waiting too long. You could have thrown my arm off of you if you needed to get up." She grinned and did not remotely hesitate to get out of bed.
"And I completely agree." She was completely better, well mostly better. Enough that the filter part of her brain was back on, so she didn't make a comment about the bed at all. "While I do not think it would be very smart of us to break the quarantine, I cannot wait to be able to go running again."
She stretched, muscles sore from inactivity, and in the midst of stretching down her right leg, her stomach growled audibly.
Mine, you are doing better. I am on my way back. You are as hungry as a newly hatched dragonet.
She laughed, Almost. Are you doing ok?
I am fine. I will hunt tomorrow after you oil me. And with that he landed on the ledge beside Labeth.
Jeyna grinned as she moved to take the basket from him, and her stomach growled again. She looked to 'Neris. "I think Ragoth is right. He said I'm as hungry as a newly hatched dragonet." She carried the basket to the table. "Why don't you set out the food and I'll feed Pixie?"

The green made sure there was room for Ragoth to land. It was his ledge after all. Amneris wasn't at all surprised at how well the blue had done at getting the food they wanted. She hopped out of bed with the same amount of energy she normally had.
"Well technically you could run, just have to do sprints across the room. I mean if you have a lot of energy thats a suggestion." Amneris wasn't about to do that. There were other physical things she wouldn't mind doing but sprinting in a weyr, like a penned up canine was not for her.
You really ought to run more. Training is getting harder for you Like you are in mint condition... My ground walking is better than it was. Not better than Barsamith. The green was easily brought to envy of her green sisters. When they did something better than she did, she got upset, especially if it was noticeable.
"Alright but I'll be done before you are." That was a challenge. She went to get the food from Ragoth quick as you please, no way was she going to let Jeyna have a head start.

Jeyna laughed, "You've seen me eat, hun. I wanted to make sure I didn't give into my hunger and not leave any for you." However, even as she laughed she was getting some food out for the puppy and putting it in her bowl. She then quickly picked up the empty water bowl and filled it with water. "Oh, sweetling. I hope you've not been too thirsty." She was pretty sure that wasn't a concern though or Pixie would have not let her sleep and Amneris would not have waited for Jeyna to wake up.
When she finished she moved over to the table and gently hugged the other girl. "Eh, I already feel caged, though we're going to have to figure out something to not die from boredom. Would be a real shame after surviving this sharding illness." She then moved to sit down, looking at the food... "Oh... meat.. whoever's idea that was is my absolute hero."

The younger girl had the food set out before Jeyna came over and was pleased that she had gotten it done so quickly. She wasn't really used to doing this sort of thing. She generally was assigned worse chores than those found in the Weyrhall and she hadn't lived in a real home in..a long time.
Her eyes might have been bigger than her stomach but Amneris wasn't about to give up on what she thought looked good. "Ragoth did." The blue was very good at thinking of things like that. Neris wondered why dragons did not think ahead more often.
"We will just have to find something to do." Amneris said though it was said innocently, after saying it Neris thought of not so innocent things to do. Maybe Labeth's new interest in male dragons was having an effect on Amneris. In any case, she was keeping those thoughts to herself as much as possible.
She dug into her food and without realizing it had eaten it all. It was then that she took a bubbly pie, "He even remembered bubbly pies.." For which Neris was eternally thankful.

Jeyna laughed, watching the younger woman eat - though she was not much behind her. Having the substance of red meat, cooked up so very nicely was just, it was wonderful. And even the vegetables were devoured - she had not realized just how much the sickness had taken out of her, but then she tended to burn up energy normally, so she normally had a healthy appetite.
"Mmm... good, though I think its just because he cannot understand how it is that we eat anything other than meat." However, when 'Neris pointed out the bubbly pies, Jeyna's eyes widened. "Surely that had to be whoever is handing out the baskets down there..."
You like the pies. I nodded when asked.
She looked at her dragon and grinned, "You are definitely a gem among Blues, Ragoth. Thank you." She then explained what he had said to Amneris. "Sometimes its amazing the things they start to remember. But then, I really do like Bubbly Pies."
She did not even suspect that innocent 'Neris could be thinking anything else. Oh, they'd flirted and cuddled, but she was so young and just recently a woman. And Jeyna was thinking straight again. She wouldn't do anything to hurt their friendship or 'Neris.

Amneris finished her bubbly without much comment on the food. She was listening to Jeyna and for once didn't have much to say. "I wonder how many people have died..." Of course she would think about something like that. Depressing totally off topic and completely silly to even waste time thinking about. Would it help anyone to try to come up with a number? No. Especially when one was sequestered in a weyr away from everyone else. Thank goodness she had Jeyna for company. And me. Of course you.
Labeth was nosy and sometimes annoyingly so. Amneris had had a hard time getting used to having someone just flit in and out of her head at will, reading her thoughts and commenting on them. Really, she could live without the commentary. Yes but it wouldn't be much fun for me! After having a dragon for nearly a Turn, Amneris had come to the conclusion that they were self centered. Why shouldn't they be? After all, Pern couldn't defend itself without them.
The green was now laying out on the ledge only the tip of her tail was visible from where Amneris was sitting. She was evidently quite comfortable though her tail twitched every so often. "Such a fickle thing..."

Jeyna frowned at the question. She was not at all disappointed that Amneris had asked it, or bothered by that subject being brought up. It was more that she did not know the answer, but was pretty sure that it was depressingly high. "I don't know. I don't even known if anyone does know, maybe one of the Healers. The hardest thing is not really being able to do anything about it."
Mine? You did do something about it.
"About the number being so high I mean. Saving my one was definitely very important and good. Though I still just did what any friend would do."
She finished her own bubbly pie and then chuckled at the comment about Labeth. "Oh... in some ways maybe." She stood, "So... what would you like to do since we're rather trapped in my weyr."

Amneris hadn't given a second thought to the other Weyrlings till now. She hoped they were alright. Labeth had not mentioned anyone dying but maybe the green couldn't keep track of everyone who was ill. There were probably quite a few.
Labeth was not paying much attention to anything anymore, as she was getting sleepy. She went so far as to tell her rider that she was going to sleep. Neris, despite her daydreaming had caught the gist of what Jeyna was saying.
And what did she want to do? Amneris wasn't sure what she really wanted to do should even be mentioned. Although she had never done anything like it herself. she wasn't going to back down from the impulse. Amneris stood up normally and walked toward Jeyna , not hesitating at all. She couldn't tell her how she felt and Jeyna wouldn't. Neris knew she wouldn't.
The next moment went by quickly and slowly, Amneris kissed Jeyna on the lips gently. She didn't quite know what she was doing, only that she had wanted to do it for quite a while now. Never realizing before that this moment was going to change things.

Jeyna was stunned, but it did not take her long to respond. She wrapped her arms around the taller woman and began to deepen the kiss, though slowly, making sure that 'Neris could pull back if she wanted to.
Mine, you kept saying you did not want to do this with her.
For a couple of moments, Jeyna ignored the Blue, and then she very gently broke the kiss. "'Neris." She did not let go of her though she did move to create a tiny bit of space. "Sweetie, I can't tell you how much I want to kiss and hold you, and even more if you want, but I'm not sure this is a good idea."
Jeyna needed to make sure that Amneris did not take this as a rejection, so she kept holding her as she spoke, "I've never had a friend as dear to me as you are, and I have many good friends." Right now was not the time to mention that several of those were bed friends. The fact were, there were some good friends that after one time together, weren't either good friends or bed friends any more. "Kissing and sex can change things, and I do not want to lose what we have, 'Neris. You mean too much to me."

While she half expected Jeyna to pull away right after she kissed her, she also had hoped the bluerider would indulge her. The kissing grew a little deeper before Jeyna broke it off, at which point, Amneris looked down at her slightly. Of course she understood what Jeyna was saying.
Amneris was fairly certain that their was nothing she could do or say that would make Jeyna think differently. This would have to be a process then. While Amneris would agree that this was a bad idea right now, she wasn't going to let Jeyna distance herself. "I understand..." She wasn't sad, somewhat pensive yet again.
She could agree to the no sex or kissing but Amneris didn't much like the thought. Perhaps it was that Labeth's hormonal changes were affecting her. Amneris had no fear when it came to things like this though perhaps she should have been less forward, it simply wasn't like her. "Kissing is more fun than I thought... much harder to live without it now." Neris grinned but made no move from where she was, being held by Jeyna.

Jeyna laughed, warmly, not moving from holding the young woman at all. "It is. And I have to admit, I very much want to keep kissing you. You're definitely a natural at it."
Then why do you not?
Not helping, Ragoth.
She looked up the short way to the slightly taller woman, "I do like cuddling with you though. So allow me to extend an open invitation for you to come visit my weyr... whenever you want to sleep in a comfortable bed. Or just need to vent to a friend, or a quiet place to practice, or just want to." She chuckled again.
"Just um... make sure you have Labeth bespeak Ragoth. So that I can make sure to be decent for you." That was partly true. If Amneris knew Jeyna's reputation, she'd probably understand what was really behind that concern - but still, Jeyna did not think saying it outright after a kiss would be particularly - nice.

"I'll take your word on that." She winked and giggled a little. "Somehow I don't think anyone else will be quite as fun to kiss..." Not that she wanted to kiss anyone else at the moment. While she knew Jeyna was trying to protect her from what she truely meant, Amneris also knew what she had meant.
Ruining their friendship would be worse. Amneris understood that but she half thought it was an excuse. Neris wouldn't bother her about it right now. The bluerider would eventually realize that Amneris wasn't going anywhere. That was why she was agreeing so easily to everything Jeyna was suggesting.
"Well then I'll just make myself at home." She was half joking... the other half was thinking about the comfy bed. Maybe she would have to borrow it, without permission.

"Good. I want you to feel at home here." Her smile was sincere and so were her words.
It was an excuse, kind of. Except not intentionally. The fact of the matter was that Jeyna believed it. She did not associate love with sex. That's not to say she didn't have a sort of love for those friends of hers that were bed-friends, but it was not the kind of love of that people wrote songs about or talked about. And sometimes, she had sex that didn't even involve that kind of love.
But she cared deeply for Amneris. And while she was not yet ready to label it as love, not more than love she felt for others, she definitely knew that there was soemthing different and special about her relationship with the green rider. Those who knew her would probably suspect that that would scare the relationship-wary Blue, but rather, she treasured it, and was not willing to do anything to put it in jeopardy.
"Thank you for understanding, 'Neris." She grinned. "So, other ideas for what we can do?"

"No need to thank me. I'd do anything for you..." This she said without so much as a thought to what it meant. Amneris wasn't always a deep person. Most of the time she didn't think about the future which obviously caused her to do and say things that other people would be scared to do. Amneris took this opportunity to look over at her green's tail. She certainly had fallen asleep quickly, her tail wasn't twitching anymore at all.
"Oh no you don't. I picked last, so now you get to come up with something." She wasn't getting tricked into thinking of more things that would probably make Jeyna less comfortable. There were not that many things they could do, sequestered in Jeyna's weyr. Anything to take her mind off of worrying about the rest of the Weyr would be fine.
The other Weyrlings in her class were her friends too. While she was glad that her best friend was here and safe with her, she wondered if her other friends had been as lucky. If something had happened to Neory and Nisha, Labeth would have known. G'eph too, she hoped. Most of the Weyrlings were acquaintances at teh very least. The only one she hoped would get sick so that he would know how it felt to be powerless would be D'leon but then again she didn't wish him to die.

Uncomfortable was not an entirely description for how Jeyna felt. The truth was that she had very much enjoyed kissing the younger woman and could no longer deny that she felt a physical attraction to her. She simply made a choice, a difficult one perhaps, but the only one that she could make.
"Well, I'm not fantastic at Stones, but I have a board. If you're interested in that we can play. Though I have to admit you'll probably beat me easily." It was true. Jeyna could just never quite catch the hang of Stones.
You would enjoy kissing her more.
Ragoth, love, why don't you join Labeth in sleep?
She smiled to the young woman, "Or we could play dragon poker." Jeyna was actually fairly good at dragon poker, and often liked to join in a game when was going. "We don't have to actually wager anything. I remember well how little marks a Weyrling tends to have, and I will not take any of yours from you."
