((Those of you who recieved one over pm can post here if you like. Don't have to play it out if you don't want to. If you didn't recieve the pm no need to post here.))
Amneris played with the puppies one last time. She wished she could keep them all. There were seven in total. Most of them were the same color a Tipp but two were tri colored and one was merle. They were adorable at this age. Another couple weeks and they'd start to grow larger. She sighed sadly, feeling Tipps head nudge her hand she smiled. Of course she had the best of them all. Tipp was a natural mother.
The beastcrafters had commended Amneris on raising the good natured canine so well. Neris wouldn't take credit for that, after all, Tipp looked after her more. The canine would hopefully never bear puppies again. She was too old to be doing this. It had never happened before she came here either. This would be her first and last litter. It was hard enough on the canine this time.
She had invited several people to come look at the pups and hoped word would get out that their were some adorable pups available. They are appealing. Something about them is very sweet. I should like one too.Dragons can't have puppies. Only humans can.Why not? I'd ahve you to help me.Labeth, when we have our own weyr, maybe we can keep a couple. For now, I don't have the tiem to take care of them. You will be sad, when they go.I will but I still have you, Tipp and Note.

V'rak had heard about the puppies some time after they were whelped. Oh a girl and her dog. His mother had a dog, and the canine certainly did keep the old woman company enough. Perhaps that was the Weyrleader's justifying even going to look at that.
He poked first his head in the stable door before stepping in entirely. Yes, he could already hear yips of excitement from within. He just didn't want to get attacked by an angry protective mother. He'd seen it with dragons..even people. so why not dogs?
"Amneris?" he called out, though not toooo loud.
What? I'm not good enough company for you? Bristith grumbled as if he was offended.
V'rak snorted back, A puppy eats less, whines less and takes up less space, he counted smugly, much to the dragon's gruntlement.

"Come on in." Amneris called back. All the puppies had begun to bark at the opening of the stable. She hoped they didn't scare anyone away. Tipp had always been a laid back canine. Her puppies were simply excited at having a visitor.
"Tipp, can't you get them to stop?" She asked the canine who tilted her head and then yipped at her pups. The puppies then turned around and ran back to their mother. The barking stopped and Amneris smiled. "You always were a smart one." Tipp licked Amneris' face. At which the blonde giggled lightly. "Thats enough. We have to get these rascals homes before they drive you mad."

Jeyna heard that Amneris' dog Tipp had given birth, and the Blue Rider knew that Amneris was worried about Tipp giving birth as old as the dog was, and she wanted to go see how the Green Rider was doing. If anyone asked, Jeyna was concerned about a friend, knowing just how attached she was to those dogs, and as far as Jeyna was aware, that's what it was.
Wearing a comfortable but flattering blue sweater and brown britches, Jeyna came to the stables. Seeing that the door was already open, she peaked her head in. She spoke softly, though audibly, "Hey. How are the puppies and momma doing?"
She came in fully since V'rak was in there and nodded deferentially to him, "Weyrleader. I didn't take you to be the kind to be about puppies." She moved over to Amneris, "Tipp looks like she made it pretty well, 'Neris. And the puppies are cute."

The long skirt was made of a heavy material and reaching low enough to barely brush the drifts of snow made it perfect for keeping the cold wind out. Her long coat was tied snuggly around her and the scarf and hat kept the rest of the heat in. Making her way into what she had been told the stables, she took a moment to undo her scarf and take off her hat.
The sound of puppies was clearly audible as they became excited and Eisu had no problems pinpointing the stall they were being kept in with their mother. It had been an unexpected surprise when she had bumped into the younger blonde just a few candlemarks ago. Amneris had been her name and come to find out she had puppies she was looking for homes for.
At first Eisu had been hesitant what with being so new to the Weyr and her duties here, but it was that reason she finally gave in and agreed to at least come and look at the canines. A new place could be daunting without a companion and until now, Eisu had always had the closest companion one could have – a twin sister. Amneris had assured her that a canine could keep her wonderful company. Well it wouldn’t hurt to look. After all she could still decline the offer.
What she didn’t know was how adorable canines where when they were so little.
Coming to the open of the stall, the journeyman healer watched, her eyes growing obviously soft at the sight of the little balls of fluff. Holding her hat in both hands, she continued to watch from the doorway. She’d never had a canine before, but already she knew she’d end up going home with one. Who could say no to something so adorable?

He had no need for a puppy. He really didn't need the extra responsibility or the extra work of owning one. Besides, canines shed, and he'd have dog fur all over his clothes and furniture and...Z'ir shuddered at the thought. There was going to be a lot of cleaning involved, and there was going to be holes in the knees of his pants from how much he'd be doing that cleaning.
But it'd be worth it to see the look on Ry's face, so he bit back any complaints he might have. You're going to hate it, the brown grumped, always having some sort of dour phrase to chip in. Z'ir just rolled his eyes and walked into the stables.
As usual, he was wearing his riding gear, gloves included. Even in the stable. Offering a light smile to the Weyrling Greenrider, he hovered in the doorway, glancing at the puppies. They were...adorable. The thought was pushed aside, though doubtless likely it would come back.

R'lec came to the stables and went to see what was going on, he had heard that there were puppies he wanted to see if he could get one. So he went to see the owner of the mother Amneris if he remembered correctly.
"Hello Amneris, I heard you had some puppies." R'lec said with a smile, he was happy that they were so small and cute but he had his duties, he could at least raise one of them correctly.

V'rak simple smiled at both girl's comments. He may not have seemed like the puppy type, but realistically, he'd rather raise a pup than a kid. He watched the balls of fur scamper back to their mother as he stopped, leaning against the wall casually, looking down at both pups and girls.
There was one, a bit slower and less steady than the rest. The runt. Soft brown eyes, sable in color, short tail wagging happily as she sought to catch up with her siblings. And this was the one that caught V'rak's attention.
He shoved off the wall, stooping slowly, knees cracking as older joints complied. Resting elbows on his thighs he looked at the canines on their level. Then... he stretched a hand out to them to sniff.

(I'm going to have certain pups walk up to characters, animals usual know who they like. ) Amneris smiled to see Jeyna come in. "Oh come over here, so you can see them. Tipp did very well. Most of them are healthy. I'm a little worried about the smallest." Then V'rak, the Weyrleader came into full view. "Glad the word got around..." She was happy to see that there were many people beginning to arrive. When Eisu arrived the pups had gone back to playing with one another. The largest of the litter, a light sable colored male began to amble over to the quiet young woman. She was still standing when he reached her so he looked up at her and barked. He wanted her to play with him. He was a lot like his mother, actually his ears were much like hers had been as a puppy. Very tipped, most likely they would remain that way to adulthood. While he was busy, one of his sisters broke away from the group. The second smallest of the litter, the bossy one and the most likely to be brave and appraoch a stranger walked right over to V'rak. She was a handful to say the least but she was also one to snuggle, much preferring human company to that of other canines. Making a playful bow at him, she walked closer and licked his hands. One of the pups broke off from the game the other four still playing were getting a little boring for her. She was going to explore. She was the perfect size, with the perfect coloring except that she had that white mark just off of her nose. The adventurer of the group she liked to get into things, that she probably shouldn't and create trouble. She saw Z'ir just hovering in the doorway and began to bark at him. She wanted to sniff him! Since he wasn't coming closer and she certainly wasn't going to be the weaker of the two and go to him, they were at a sort of impass. Amneris replied, "You heard right R'lec. We have some puppies." Tipp wasn't too sure about all her pups scattering about but it seemed that they were meeting the people. So the dog laid down next to her own human. The four still playing were getting a little rougher. The runt was winded and went to sit down next to her mother and coincedentally, next to Jeyna. The only blue merle in the litter was found the odd one out and huffed as she sat down, practically on R'lec's feet. When she realized she was partly on his shoe she looked up at him. The little one had two different colored eyes, one brown and one blue. She was very much the little princess of the litter. She didn't like getting dirty, and often pranced around rather than walking. Her entire demeanor was lady like. Amneris saw that now the two tricolored pups, both male were playing by themselves and had begun to tear around the room like the little devils they were. The two of them together was worse than anything. They were the closest of the litter, not much caring to let the others in on their private schemes to infiltrate stalls to scare runners and sneak into feeding rooms to chase felines and eat food they shouldn't. "To Jeyna she spoke quietly. Look the one who I think has a teddy bear face, he's a real sweetheart, I hope she likes him. He's so much like Tipp when she was younger. The girls are all much more demanding than their brothers but I think its because they are smarter. Those two there are simply terror children, I'm sorry Tipp had to watch after them so long. The beastcrafters were about to give me an earful because of their behavior. I'm not really concerned about them though, they are so healthy. She picked up the tired runt. "I worry about her, she needs someone special to care for her."

R'lec smiled down at the little one on his feet he bent down to get a closer look at her. He saw that she had two differnt colored eyes and was amazed she could see, but then again this was a canine. He petted her and went to pick her up but first looked to Amneris to make sure it was alright.
"Is it alright to pick the puppies up?" R'lec asked he wasn't going to do it if the breeder said it wasn't alright. He knew that Myneth would have tantrum if he brought this little fuzzy thing home.
Mine, what are you doing? Myneth asked he knew His was at the Stables but not sure why. The bronze snorted and curled up on his ledge so that his tail was under his snout, if anyone looked it would appear that the bronze was pouting.

V'rak grinned at the small wet tongue lapping at his fingers. No doubt the pup was thoroughly interested in the lunch residue left on them. The other hand stroked along the pup's back before sliding under the soft belly and scooping her up.
Little tails wagged away, small mouths yipping in excitement.
She was simply adorable!!! The weyrleader couldn't deny the fact. Cradling the pup like a child he rubbed the soft underbelly while she squirmed, both in delight and in attempt at licking at V'rak's face.
Bristith was sound asleep with his Queen, so the Weyrleader needn't be worried about the Bronze's ego.... Not yet anyways.

Jeyna did move over to Amneris and gently gave her a hug. She was glad that Tipp and the puppies were doing well, but she was still a bit concerned about the Green Weyrling. "I'm sure she'll be fine, 'Neris." Referring to the smallest of the puppies, "But how are you doing? You ok with giving the puppies away?" Of course, if Amneris had tried to argue that she should keep them, she'd have Jeyna lecturing her on the need to focus on Labeth and how busy weyrlings were kept, but that didn't mean she thought it was easy.
She watched with a grin as the puppies almost seemed to choose their people. "Must be something about the weyr. Looks like the idea of dragons impressing has rubbed off on the puppies." And then she noticed the little one settle down next to her and grinned, they were cute.
"I'm sure she will like him," Though Jeyna had to admit that she was not entirely sure who she was. "Um... who is she? I've not seen her around before." Jeyna would admit that the young woman was pretty, but not her type - though she wasn't sure how she knew that.
Jeyna grinned as she watched the wild boy puppies play, "I wonder who those two will end up with." She then turned back as she heard Amneris express her concern about the runt, "She's cute." Jeyna would gently scritch behind the little one's ears as Amneris held her. "I'm sure whoever adopts her will take good of her. Besides, aren't the runts usually the strongest once they make it adult doghood?"

"Of course and if you fancy her your more than welcome to take her. Never saw a puppy with that coloring before. She flaunts it too." Amneris giggled. The puppy was darling, they all were. Even the runt had a fiesty personality when she wasn't worn out. The others would be getting sleepy too in a little while.
She wasn't too sad to see them go. She would miss them but Labeth had been understanding enough with the canine thing and she seemed to accept the fact they didn't come first but were still dependent on her. The Beastcrafters had been understanding too. Amneris thought the WeyrlingMaster might have spoken with them about her canines. Tipp had been placed on "maternity leave" so that she could rest up before working again. She excelled at herding so the Weyr was only too happy to have more like her.
"WEyrleader, looks like you have a new friend. You know, she's very particular about people. She doesn't like just anyone." That was an understatement. Most people had to be invited in anyway but some of them she showed no interest at all in. Even people who fed her. She was fickle.
She returned to her conversation with Jeyna. "Oh I'm good. Its time for them. They are starting to bother their mother, who was my first and best canine. I'd rather have her happy than keep the puppies." Amneris wasn't that heartbroken about it. After all, the pups would be around and she was looking at the people interested, deciding they were all fairly well off. Three dragonriders and a Healer...they would be fine.
"She is new to the Weyr. Overheard her say something to a patient about being lonely at the Weyr. I told her a puppy would do her good. She's a Journeywoman Healer. Very quiet but very nice it seems to me." Amneris laughed as one of the boys bit the others ear. "Oh I'm sure those two will need an owner with some allowance for fun and rowdiness while having the ability to teach them some discipline." They would be great with her but she wouldn't say that outloud. They would all be great with Amneris. She knew all their quirks already. Something their new owners would learn quickly.
"I would keep her if I had the time. She needs someone who can understand she isn't healthy and take the time to care for her... another mother in a way. Still I'd much prefer she went to someone I knew well and trusted." AS she said that the little runt opened her eyes and looked at Jeyna and then with her tiny mouth wide open she yawned. "Runts don't always survive that long. Think of human babies that are born small, sometimes they do not live. Once they are adults, if they stay too small they can have health problems but most of them live normal lives."

R'lec then picked the little female up and smiled, she was gorgeous he was pleased that she was so different from her siblings. Yet she reminded him of a Queen dragon, he thought she was a little princess.
"They're all old enough for new homes?" R'lec asked the little merle female winning his heart over. He was pleased this was very different from a child, easier in some respects.
MINE! You don't need a furry thing! Myneth told His who merely ignored the bronze he was going to bring the canine back to the weyr just to mess with Myneth. R'lec was going to teach this bronze to share His with another thing that needed a caretaker.
She is coming home you big bronze git. R'lec said playfully to his dragon, R'lec wondered if Myneth would even notice after the first few days. He doubted it but still the bronze could be stubborn.
Little Labeth are these furry things hard for Ours to take care of?[/i] Myneth asked of the green weyrling he didn't know so he asked someone who would know.

"Oh, I think this one will make it, hun. I think she's a fighter. The kind to say that she is not going to let anyone or anything limit her." Jeyna smiled at the tired little puppy, and had to admit that the yawning was just the cutest thing ever. "She'll make it."
She grinned glancing around to see the people and puppies as they paired up. "I'm sure whoever they pick" - as it seemed to be the puppies doing the picking - "will be able to handle them. Though I hope they don't pick the same person. That'd be a handful." She winked at 'Neris, still petting the little runt the other held. "And I agree, a puppy would be great company for someone feeling lonely, you did well."
She smiled to her, "And I'm glad you're ok. I was half afraid I was going to have to tell you it was necessary to give them up."
