She smiled over to Raelwyn, glad she undestood her reasoning behind the whole bragging thing. Though she had not missed the blush either. "S'frid, you don't have to do anything that would make you uncomfortable. Perhaps we can come up with another solution to make the Weyrlings learn their place."
She had to admit that it did make her angry when she saw how the current batch of weyrlings tended to treat S'frid. And she knew it was because of Kerroth's disability. But the fact of the matter was that that disability did nothing to make Kerroth less of a dragon or S'frid less of a Rider. The pair had plenty to offer, and if the weyrlings were too blind to see that... she took a deep breath, trying to move herself away from that line of thought. Angry was not a mood she wanted to be in right now.
"The weyrwoman is in a difficult position. I don't agree with her decision, but I can understand where she is coming from in making it. That is the true burden of authority, I'm sure, having to choose between two goods. Having to make hard decisions and stand on them regardless of how others might feel about it." She grinned a bit, "But hopefully there will be a queen egg soon, and I don't think she could prevent Greens or Blues from choosing from the Queen candidates if they so choose. After all, in the end, the choice is the dragon's."
She smiled to Raelwyn, "Don't spend too much time dwelling on it, Raelwyn. Thread is approaching, I'm sure that soon even more queen eggs will start to be clutched. I believe there will be plenty of oppurtunities for girls to stand."
