It was getting late. R'lec returned from a spontaneous meeting with one of the younger cooks, a blonde. Her name actually escaped the bronze rider now that the moment had passed...or had he even bothered to learn it at all this time. Oh well. It's not like it matters. His customary smirk played on his lips as he sauntered into the near empty Weyrhall. By now, most riders had retired to their personal weyrs to sleep off their hard work or enjoy the company of another... Seeing as how R'lec already participated in the later, he was interested in parching his thirst before going to his own rooms for the night.
Or wine would do.
Just his luck, a bottle was out on the hearth. Either the drudges had known he was coming, or he wasn't the only one who enjoyed a late night drink to unwind. In a smooth movement, the bottle was uncorked and a glass poured.
"Mmmm." It was the quiet appraisal of a connoisseur. This particular stock wasn't Benden, but it had a rich taste. Indeed, it had been a good night.

"Didn't your mother teach you any manners?" The voice was amused, not irritated, and a faint chuckle came out. R'net reached forward, and retrieved the wineskin, topping off his glass. How much of the alcohol he'd already drunk was anyone's guess, as R'net tended to go from mildly tipsy to dead drunk, though he appeared to only have had a glass or so.
"One should always ask before taking a drink, especially of my fine, rather new, Istan wine." R'net sounded proud of his discovery of good Istan wine, as it was rather a rarity, though Bronzers tended to be able to charm out good anything if they placed their mind too it.
"I forgive you, brother, but I might not next time." He sounded seriously, but how he was actually feeling was probably something along the lines of giddy.
"What brings you here so late at night?"

R'lec's head shot up at the sound of a voice. He knew he hadn't been alone, but hadn't expected anyone to strike up a conversation at this hour. Eyes settled on a familar face, and he recognized it as R'net of Triveni. A nice enough guy, especially since he was sharing his wine on this fine evening.
No matter if the bronzerider hadn't planned on it. R'lec wasn't about to let this wine skin go very far. "You're one to talk of manners, sneaking up on a man like that." He countered smoothly, raising his glass in salute to his fellow bronze rider. "And here I thought I had discovered this fine drink all on my own." He smiled, at ease with the other man if only because it looked like he might not last that much longer, and the rest of the skin would be his.
"Why don't we sit down before you fall down?" R'lec placed a friendly hand on R'net's shoulder and steered him to the first empty chair. Once settled, wine skin still in hand should either man run low, he pondered the question. The real dilemna was if he should really tell the Wingsecond of his exploits or just give some generic excuse. "Oh, the usual..." He started, sipping some more wine. "There was a girl who caught my eye. You know how these things go, I'm sure."
R'lec was always one to kiss and tell.

When sober R'net would have never made the comment he made next. However, he'd been drinking for a while now- and for no particular reason.
"Hmmm. Yeah- do you know the pretty one with the dark eyes, and the sun bleached hair?" He waited for confirmation one way or the other, and then continued. "She's really easy. Give 'er a smile, she's yers."
He trailed off, and then continued. "Lot's of pretty girls down h're. We're lucky ones, us riders. Real lucky. All the girls, and even pretty boys, if you swing that way." From the way his nose scrunched R'net didn't swing that way. Except for Flight, of course.
"Real pretty girls. Gotta thank me a searchrider one day."

This wine was amazing. R'lec was already pouring himself another glass - surely R'net wouldn't mind - and well into it as his companion went on about pretty girls. "Funny. Whaa's 'er name? That could have been her." He waved a finger to emphasize his words, as if they needed it. His blood was warming already, which was unusual. The bronze rider was known for being able to hold his wine better than this. If he didn't watch himself, he'd be matching the other wingsecond slurred word for slurred word.
"They're the lucky ones, if ya ask me. All of us handsome men around..." His eyes swept the Hall and rested on no one in particular. "You'd think they'd get this kinda selection at a Hold. Ha!" He toasted himself and downed his second glass. "Lots of pretty 'nes. Boys. Girls. So lucky." He repeated, going for the skin again.
Had he been sober, he might have slapped himself. R'lec was solely into females. His numerous children could attest to that. Shells, Myneth had always flown greens with the female riders...To think of anything else....Well...
"Good wine." He declared. If the bronze didn't stop soon, he'd loose all control over his tongue.

"We are handsome, aren't we?" The wine was very strong- much stronger than the man who had sold it to him had said, and the hangover in the morning was going to be killer.
The Wingsecond stood up, and informed everyone else of his. "We're handsome men!" The then sat back down gracelessly. "Name, name. Eh, somethin' with a P. Or maby a D."
His eyes crossed lightly with the effort, and he gave it up. "Think'd they'd be pursuing us, but they don't." He sounded sad, like having girls chasing after him would be a good thing. It wouldn't, but at this stage nothing would convince him otherwise.
At a table a few feet away, a Greenrider sat, staring at his Wingsecond in horror. The man had gone from smug to drunk much to quickly, and the idea that Pyralis would have a drunken Wingsecond chatting calmly to another drunken Wingsecond about easy women offended his sense of propriety. Not that the unranked Green was going to say anything about it.

"Eh, who cares?" R'lec was beyond even remembering what the girl from earlier looked like. Blonde hair? Red? They were all the same with the lights off. "Here here!" R'lec pumped his fist at his fellow bronzer's exclamation, any concern over how loud they were being went right out of his head. It didn't matter right now that he was a Wingsecond and had a reputation to uphold, in the Weyr and with the women he was currently gossiping about. If they really knew his -true- feelings, it'd be likely he'd have a harder time getting one when he wanted.
But of course, who would refuse him??
"They're messed up in the head if they don't chase after us." R'lec replied, for some reason his mind had drifted from young women to the man sitting by himself not to far away. He was fair on the eyes. Surely he thought R'lec and his friend were handsome, but since he was drunk, he felt the need to get a verbal opinion. "Hey! You!" They were in the same wing, but the man's name escaped him. The wing second's eyes were clouded over, the wine flowing freely through his system by now. "Aren't we handsome? C'mere..." He beckoned.
Of course, he liked women, so he didn't think twice about inviting a good lucking male greenrider over...

R'net turned to see who his companion was and saw a greenriding male, and nodded. Who better to confirm their handsomeness than a man who was in the head of a woman all day?
"Ay, come over and tell us m'lad!" That the greenrider was at least five years older than him completely escaped his notice. Or maybe that was the wine again.
N'zule was nervous. Bronzeriders and male greenriders discussing how handsome the bronzeriders were couldn't end well. He'd need to say that they were handsome of course, the greenrider wasn't above bootlicking, but at the same time, that could quickly turn into angry Bronzeriders wanting to know if he was flirting with them. R'net, he knew, was Weyrbred, and less likely to try something like that, but R'lec was decidedly Holdbred, and N'zule wasn't sure how to deal with this.
Standing up, abet, nervously, the greenrider joined the drunken Wingseconds. "I'm sure the girls consider you both very attractive." He carefully said, standing in-between the two chairs the Bronzers were sitting in.

R'lec grinned at R'net. Why hadn't they done this before? The more the drank, the more relaxed the bronze riders became. He felt like he could do or say anything and it wouldn't matter. If only things were like this all the time. He felt good. He was handsome. What more could he asked for.
Hiccup.
"'Scuse me." They had been joined by the greenrider, who looked...hesitant. What, did he not know how to answer a simple question. Or maybe he was so intimidated by their good lucks he didn't know how to say 'Yes, you are both amazingly beautiful.' Finally he spoke, and R'lec found himself looking intensely at the greenrider. What was his name again. N...something. Like he said before, names didn't matter. Everybody loved R'lec.
"But what do you think?" He asked, his voice dangerously even, almost masking the amount of wine he had consumed. "You green riders are easy enough. I'm sure you've had your share of men. Tell us where we rank." It was a drunkard's confidence and loose tongue that was speaking now.

R'net wasn't sure exactly what was happening. An awkward looking greenrider had appeared like a dragon out of between and informed him he was attractive to women, and more and more, this was becoming surreal.
"I'm pretty." He announced suddenly. "And I want a pretty woman!" And with that, the drunken man jumped, managed not to fall back down, and stumbled away in search of some woman as attractive to himself.
The Greenrider was entranced. Though most people had to work to get him attracted to them(Del's morals about flirting had taken root in N'zule's mind), R'lec exuded a confident that the greenrider couldn't help but be attracted to. Normally, during drills and such, it didn't matter because he was focused something else, but R'lec was the only thing to focus on now.
He's straight. N'zule reminded himself, and watched as the Triveni wingsecond ran off.
"Well, you'd be up near the top." N'zule offered, still feeling weird about all of this.

"Of course I am." R'lec nodded as if there wasn't any other possible answer. He barely noticed his companion's departure, only caught something about 'pretty girls.' They were nice, yes, but the Pyralis wingsecond had those all the time. They were boring. Now, this young man (okay, so he was older, but who really noticed these things?)..he was something new. And what R'lec wanted he got. "I said c'mere." He beckoned the greenrider closer, until he could reach out and grab him, clumsily pulling the smaller man into his lap. "Oops." He slurred. How had that happened?
"Have some of this. It'll warm you right up." He held up the wine skin R'net had left in his haste, forcing it to N'zule's lips. It wouldn't do to have someone sober in the Wing second's company. People were so much easier to get into bed when intoxicated.
Wait, what?

Wait, what?
N'zule blinked. How had he ended up in his wingsecond's lap, and being half drowned with very good wine?
No, this didn't happen to greenriders- especially not the male ones. Glancing around, and happily finding that no one else was in the hall that he could see, N'zule agreed to to his drink of wine- something that rapidly turned into the rest of the glass. Chugging being something his system was sensitive too, the greenrider was tipsy already. Unlike his ex-mate, he was a lightweight.
"I think I should get up now." He said carefully, and tried to stand up. Thankfully, grace and balance was something that N'zule retained no matter how drunk he was, but it seemed awful difficult to get off the bronzerider's lap.

"Not uh." R'lec mumbled, too far gone to really comprehend what was happening. Things were oh so simple when alcohol was involved. "Where ya gonna go?" An arm encircled the green rider's waist. Even intoxicated, it was easy to overpower the struggling attempts N'zule was making to get out of the....embarassing... position his wingsecond had put them in.
"You're not so bad looking youself." He cocked his head to the side with his sudden discovery. In all his life, R'lec had never admitted to anyone that another male could be "cute." Sure, it was accepted in a Weyr, but never for the bronzerider. He always sneered at those couples, and Myneth knew enough to stick to the greens with girls to ride. A happy rider made a happy dragon...But right now, what would make R'lec happy would be for this greenrider to stop protesting and simply give him what he wanted. "Are you going to kiss me or what?"
He wouldn't remember this in the morning.

N'zule was more than a little freaked out now. Face rapidly turning white and red at intervals the greenrider continued his struggle to get up, arm around his waist or not. The problem was, he couldn't risk damaging the Wingsecond at all- that would the offend that Greenrider's sense of propriety, though he was glad that Del was asleep and wasn't watching her rider act so weak.
Then the real shocker came when R'lec asked him if he was going to kiss him. The remainder of the blood in his face was gone, and N'zule looked like a sheet. A white sheet.
"Sir, you're drunk, you don't know what you're doing, please let me up, Sir." Though he was beginning to babble, N'zule didn't much care. He was not staying on his man's lap any longer than he had too.

"Thank you for pointing out the obvious." For being drunk, R'lec sure had a grasp on his vocabulary. And, in his drunken state, he was much easier aggrivated than usual.
"Look 'ere, rider. I get what I want, when I want it. 'Snot my fault you're cute and the only one aroun' here." He pushed N'zule off his lap, only to stand up himself. after wobbling a bit, he returned his strong grip around the other man's waist.
"Now, be a good boy and help me to my weyr."
