Bothering him? Nothing was bothering him. He was fine. His life was going just the way it should be. K'dyn had control of every aspect of his life. Even Ortath would agree that life was splendid.Wonderful might be a stretch but heh, who had everything?
"Now now, what would give you that idea? Everything in my life is going just the way I want it to go." Well, except for having no bed and burns on his back... and havning no jacket... not being able to fly until he had a new one... and of course there was the fact that he was under punishment for other less than notable pranks.
"No. I don't think it has ever occurred to me, since I obviously don't give any thought to my personal life." He was starting to get annoyed. What did the whelp know anyway? She was just saying all this to get him riled. It was working... and that just proved what he had previously said. "I wouldn't put it past all men to be selfish jerks. I know I am."

Neory sighed and gave up, "Fine, K'dyn. I give up. I just... " She gestured with her hand in a wave. "I just want you to be happy."
She frowned ever so slightly, remembering the times they had together as kids. Maybe she just remembered him wrong because she idolized him... and she had idolized him.
Regardless of what he thought, she did not want to control him. She did watch him though, and she worried about him. She was convinced that underneath that hard selfish shell he was really a sweet man and worried about him denying himself such a simple joy.
With a shake of her head, she simply focused on helping to wash Ortath.

Hmmph and about time. He wasn't going to be her project and besides he got a kick out of annoying people. Why should she be any different? If anyone was going to be annoyed by him it would be family. Much easier to push buttons when you knew who the person was, really well.
"So long as I have Ortath, I shall have no cause for unhappiness. Though to be honest these burns are killing me!" He grinned. K'dyn didn't like focusing on the negative for long. He'd rather have fun joking around and playing harmless pranks on people. There was enough seriousness in the world. He didn't feel the need to contribute to it.
Ortath grumbled impatiently. Sometimes I think you take longer with help. The Brown stated sarcastically. "He says we are slower together." K'dyn grinned again, "I say he's impatient considering what awaits him next..." Ewww... oiling...The Brown immediately stopped complaining about the time it was taking the siblings to bathe him.

She nodded, "All right, K'dyn. I promise that I will not... bug you about your attitude... for a couple of days anyway." She grinned at him. She would not stop being herself for her big brother anymore than he would stop for her.
She grinned at him, "And of course this lovely one keeps you happy!" She would move to start scrubbing a different area of dragon.
Though she would pause long enough to roll her eyes at K'dyn, "The burns are kind of your fault, but if they hurt you should see a healer."
She laughed at what her brother had said about Ortath being impatient. "Cause we both know how very much he loves being oiled. Besides, I think he likes the attention."
She got quiet for a moment as she washed Ortath, thinking. "K'dyn? What is it that Ortath doesn't like about being oiled?"

The Brown was not nearly as vain as many other dragons but he was listening. People would talk about him. It was their nature. K'dyn grew quite, as a focused on the dragon's hide. It was not good that Ortath had so many dry spots, nor did it seem normal to him. Perhaps he should speak with E'riol about this... Ugh, he hated having to go higher up but seeing as K'dyn had only beena rider for three turns he didn't have any experience to go on.
"He doesn't like the way it smells or feels." K'dyn thought that it was supposed to feel good. The dragon seemed to mope a lot when he had to be oiled, much as K'dyn did when he didn't feel 100 percent.
"Are you finding a lot of dry areas over there?" K'dyn's voice was very concerned. He didn't seem the type to worry but he was a bit. It was probably a good thing they weren't flying anywhere today.

Neory nodded, "More than I remember the last time I helped you washed him."
She thought for a moment, "We could maybe do something about the smell. Find something he likes to smell so he can focus on that, or something. But, these dry spots have to be itchy, how is it possible that the oil feels worse than the itchiness of not having it oiled?"
Neory had only gone between twice, so she really didn't know a whole lot about it - other than the fact that it had absolutely terrified her the first time. "K'dyn? I realize I've almost no experience in going between, but is it safe for Ortath to go between with this much dry skin?"

He was dreading that answer. K'dyn would have to see a dragon healer, the sooner the better. "I almost wonder if the oil is affecting him..." He looked over the dragon's hide again. "There has to be a reason he doesn't like it but the Healer's always say that its not the problem. I just bathed and oiled him three days ago..."
He was concerned for Ortath. What could the brownider really do?
"Well to be perfectly honest we aren't allowed between right now anyway. My jacket has to be fixed first. Looks like we have to see teh dragonhealers. This isn't normal, even for him. Half these dry patches weren't here three days ago."

Neory sighed with a nod as she scrubbed the dragon, "I'm sorry, K'dyn."
Her own thoughts had been that the dragonhealer would not be a bad idea, but since her brother had said it himself, she felt no need to point it out.
"Maybe its something he's eating? Or maybe they could do something to the oil to make it not bother him so much."
She tried to sound not to worried about it, K'dyn seemed concerned enough. "I'm sure its something that can be easily taken care of. Just, don't let the healer leave without telling you exactly what's wrong and how to fix it." She would smile over the dragon at him, "You're annoying enough. You can make them do it."

He was annoyed enough, let alone annoying. First his bed, then his jacket, now he wondered if someone had messed with his dragon. He would beat them to a pulp if he ever caught on. No one messed with another rider's dragon. Hopefully it wasn't a prank. Not that he wanted Ortath ill under any conditions.
K'dyn finished washing his side and nodded. " I know. After he's dry I'll have him meet me at our weyr. Then I have to hunt down some dragon healers. I get the distinct feeling it won't be anything I'll be pleased to hear."
