WOOSH! Marisol ran past one of the drudges, trying to dodge around the serving tables. "Watch out!" The greenrider laughed, looking over her shoulder briefly and giggling louder. The man following her was huffing loudly. Two of his wingmates accompanied him though they seemed to be more worried about the man falling than catching the greenrider.
Once in the kitchens she hid herself in one of the closets. Three on one was hardly fair. Still that green color was unlikely to come off his teeth for days! Green was his color now! He deserved it for insulting her precious Seryth. That and t had been some time since her last prank. Pyralis riders were so bad at taking jokes, really. They had such tempers. Why be angry all the time when you could be happy?
The red head slid out of the closet brushed by another drudge or was it the same one? She couldn't remember. The whirlind that was Marisol stood in the middle of the Night Hearth and noticed more than one person staring at her. Seryth needed to be avenged, she didn't much care if it offended people that she was loud and interrupted their quiet. Unlike them, she slept fine but that man had needed a lesson.
Her adrenaline was pumping to the point where she couldn't sit. Instead she wandered the Night Hearth looking over some of the food, though she took none and tasting the klah which instantly caused her to grimace. Sighing loudly she thought about possibly going for a run out by the lake. Except it was as freezing as Between out there right now. Instead she tried just pacing the room but she was growing very very bored with it. Too late at night to find any of her friends and Seryth was sleeping.

An amused cough shattered the silence as the tap of riding boots on the floor ceased. E'riol stood there, one eyebrow raised and gray eyes showing a rather even mix of amusement and disapproval. The Wingleader placed his hands on his hips as he looked about, how many times did he have to tell them not to get caught. Still watching Marisol bemusedly, he reached up to adjust the collar on his riding jacket. It really was too warm in here for such clothing.
He wasn't sure what was going on other than he had to point a pair of Pyralis musclebound riders in another direction while on his way to the Hall. Clearly by the giggling emitting from Marisol's frame she was far from innocent in this endeavor, as usual. "Ahem." He cleared his throat to get the green rider's attention.

Marisol was hardly pleased at seeing the Wingleader look at her with disapproval. She did try to behave most of the time. With one of her more charming smiles the red head said sweetly, "Good Evening Wingleader E'riol. I trust Caidenth is well."
If he was going to lecture her she was not sure she was going to be able to pay attention. She would prefer to be given a punishment and get on with it. No punishment would be better but given the choice. Maris was not above using her wit and charm to get her out of trouble. As much as she was in it she had very few extra chores or punishments. Now and then a Night Watch was in order but she couldn't sleep all night on nights like this anyway!

The eyebrow remained in its arched position, but the Wingleader's mouth twitched into a small smile. Only Marisol. He inclined his head at her inquiry of Caidenth's health, that was a subject he always warmed to. "Caidenth is well, thank you Marisol. So.... Why was that rider's teeth green?"
Straight to the point, that was the way to do it. No tramping around the subject, better to be efficient about a conversation if you had to have one. I am very well. Yes I know, my dear. Go to sleep. The only response he got was the familiar feeling of the bronze laughing. E'riol made himself refocus on the green rider in front of him and his mouth twitched in a smile again.

Kess had barely finished her meal when a sudden commotion disrupted the aisle between the tables. The young rider was quickly making her way to the kitchens, followed by three other male riders. They seemed to be failing at their chase. She smiled to herself at the site as she stood from her seat and cleared her place. This was her first evening this week without chores. A pleasant night off.
Her plans were originally to find a quiet spot out by the lake and have herself a nice simple think. After all it is what she does best. However, this seemed more interesting, and besides she had the whole evening ahead of her. Kesstriel followed the excitement threw the hall and into the kitchens where she found Wingleader E'riol, the father to her young cousin, and Marisol, rider of green Seryth. She cracked a huge smile, and paused while they spoke. When she felt it was appropriate she approached the two and extended her respectful greeting. "Good evening Wingleader, Wingrider." She nodded to them both, smile still spread across her face.

The red headed woman wondered whether to be nervous or glad that so far her Wingleader was being pleasant. She was happy to hear that Caidenth was well. The Bronze was always an agreeable dragon. Marisol had always loved dragons the way many weyrbrats did for their entire lives. Riders were often less interesting than their flying counterparts.
"Well, you see..." Marisol began but was interrupted by a younger woman's voice. She did not mind at all of course. With a bright smile at the woman she said, "Good Evening to you as well." She had no idea who this girl was but one should always be nice if it could be helped.
"Now as for the green teeth. He insulted greens and my Seryth particularly. I think he will find that green is a most agreeable color." Though perhaps not for teeth she smirked. Her pale blue eyes held a look of mischief. Should she divulge to them how she had gotten his teeth green? Maybe if they asked, otherwise best to keep it to herself.

Ah, that explained it; E'riol nodded slowly then inclined his head in a slight bow to the Candidate. He skewed his face, he was sure he should know who she was but he just couldn't... Vireseth's rider's sister's daughter.
Now how Caidenth kept that straight when he could not, but then it seemed that the bronze had a much better grasp of people than most dragons did. In fact, E'riol wasn't sure that he was the dragon and that Caidenth was the rider. That would make flying hard. Yes my dear, best we keep it the way it is.
In an oddly amused mood now, E'riol chuckled quietly. If those riders had insulted Seryth, then they had indeed deserved whatever they had gotten. Hadn't they learned about trying to mess with Zahra wing.
"Good evening Kesstriel, I trust you will not follow Marisol's example here." The Wingleader quirked that eyebrow again, really letting that be the only real show of amusement or more than mild interest. "And Marisol, please try to keep them from running in busy areas the next time they are after you."

Amused by the goings on, Kess couldn't help but to chuckle at the greenrider. "Did you really turn another rider's teeth green. How impressive!" She glanced at E'riol whose stern face caused her smile to shrink. Looking back at Marisol, "But not a good example at all.." She wasn't being serious, just appeasing the Wingleader.
In her mind, a whirlwind of questions spun around. The main one being how the greenrider managed to make the other rider's teeth green. She made a mental note to ask the girl later. "I hope you both are doing well this evening, and that your dragons are doing the same?" A slight smile reappeared on her lips.

Marisol was realizing that the girl had interrupted any punishment she may have received. Thank Faranth for that! Laughing at the younger woman's enthusiasm she answered, " Of course I did. You will find that some riders are very good at playing pranks on others and that a majority of them reside in Zahra Wing. If you impress a dragon dear you should try to get into Zahra. Its the best wing in the Weyr!"
Seryth would have agreed, she thought though the green was fast asleep. "Seryth is much better now that she has been avenged!" Marisol took insults to her dragon seriously as would any rider. Her dragon probably did not take it that seriously but if somone insulted Marisol the green would probably do something very bad to that person.
Upon hearing the name of the youth she nodded. Hmm, try to remember that. " I'm always in good humor Candidate Kesstriel. " Looking at E'riol's serious face her smile remained. Why were some people so serious all the time. It was much better to laugh and be merry. "Oh I suppose you are right. The one was a little on the heavy side. I could hear him breathing a mile away." She giggled. "I would have run outside but its freezing out there."

What was it with women, one was manageable but more than that and it was like trying to control a flock of fire lizards. He could almost understand the hidebound idea that they shouldn't ride fighting dragons. But then, despite how they acted on the ground, his wing never missed a mark. Tightest performing wing in the air no doubt. He sighed quietly as he looked between the two.
"Marisol, you had best work on not getting caught first and you might want to pass that on to Kesstriel here as well. I won't have Zahra getting thumped by Pyralis. Got it?" He reigned in any amusement he was feeling to impress the idea on the two. Shards and shells Zahra had a reputation, and getting caught was not part of it.
"And I won't always be there to direct them in another direction, so remember your end game." Well alright, maybe the not being there wasn't entirely true. He did not fuss over his riders like some did, but he always knew where they were and what they were up to. A well bribed drudge here and there could work wonders.

Kess adjusted her tunic, smoothing it down. After sitting for dinner she wad wrinkled it. She was at a loss for conversation with these two. Which was entirely her, she was never much for conversation.
"Zahra Wing, that would be an honor." She grinned. It truly would be if she would impress a green. E'roil was one of the best wingleader's to fly under. Zahra was known for having excellent fliers and incredible tricksters. She chucked to herself at that thought.
(ooc: sorry ladies i know its short... work was ridiculous tonight)

"I would not have been caught but he had company which made it a bit more challenging." Marisol did not usually get caught so it was dissapointing to her as well that she had failed in that aspect. The greenrider nodded. She wouldn't allow those Pyralis riders to do better than her either.
Her family were all in Triveni for the most part and then there was her. They didn't really understand the side of her that made her acceptable to Zahra Wing. Her father was always a good rider and never messed with people outside of his wing. She really couldn't trust any of them to help her with her little tricks.
Marisol caught a piece of her flaming red hair and tucked it behind her ear. "Oh E'riol thats what Wingleaders are for. To watch over their riders. Of course you'll be around next time." She was teasing him though only a little. He really needed to lighten up a little.

E'riol looked between the two women and blinked, really what had come to this world. Well at least Marisol flew well enough when she needed to, and that was what counted. The rest of the time, well she was right there, most of the time he felt like a nurse. Largest nurse I have seen. Thank you Cai, I think.
The short interjections by the bronze rarely disappointed in their humor. Leave it to a dragon to think of him as the largest nurse. Then again, he focused his eyes back on Marisol and Kesstriel, he was fairly sure that Caidenth was not far off the mark. His lips twitched again in an almost smile as he shook his head.
"I guess I had better work on my running then. Either that or tie you in your weyr." He winked sidelong at Kess. "If you Impress, don't learn too much from this one." Whew, longest sentence yet, why couldn't humans speak telepathically as dragons could, it would be so much more efficient. Because you don't fly? You might just have it at that.

Twisting her arm behind her back, Kess played with the end of her braid in her fingers. How interesting the goings on of a wing were. How much she would give to join one. She fancied herself adept at athletics, and could picture herself as a Wingfighter. Yet she also could picture herself with dare she say it a queen. They were all such big thoughts. She contented herself to being happy, wither she impress a green or a gold... or even a blue though unlikely as it was. She would be happy, even if she didn't impress. Sure it would be disappointing, but she would manage. You play the hand your dealt her father would tell her.
Her thoughts read like a book on her face as her mind went through them. She had been listening to the riders speak, and paying attention at that, it was just their comments sparked such thoughts in her mind, she couldn't help but to follow the tangents.
"... or tie you in your weyr." Her silver eyes fell on the face of the Wingleader in time to catch his wink. She grinned at him. "If you impress, don't learn much from this one." His voice was deep and seemed to melt.
"Oh I don't know about that, I was under the impression that Marisol was one of the best." She shot a glance at the red head next to her.

Marisol giggled. "You would enjoy tying me up a little to much I think." The thought of E'riol even attempting to do such a thing seemed a bit preposterous. He was much too serious lately to do anything so fun. Then she would have to find a way out. Marisol loved a good challenge, perhaps she would enjoy being tied up more than he would enjoy it.
"I don't know about the best." She said sweetly. "Seryth is a wonderful dragon, the perfect green if I do say so myself." All riders were enamoured of their dragons. At least Marisol felt that was so. It came as no suprise that she would say something about hers being the best. The all smiles Marisol was starting to fidget. Standing too long in one attitude was really not something she was good at.
"I have a splendid idea for working on your running Wingleader. Kess may join in too, for she will have to run if she impresses and it can't hurt to be in good shape. Besides I'm still working off baby fat." Marisol's eyes wore their usual mischeivious glint. If she hadn't mentioned it, no one would notice any extra weight on the greenrider, save perhaps her breasts were slightly larger than before. Marisol was a good rider even if a little too mischievious at times. This made her want to rejoin her wing as soon as she was able so she had been making an effort to run every day. Seryth and her mother fully encouraged this and Marisander was none the worse for it.
