Golds are probably the ones ho are most intelligent, followed closely by Bronzes then browns and blues and lastly greens. This is why their are fewer Golds.

Few people actually saw that part of her because she chose to only show the sweet pretty girl... not the intelligent one.

"Bronzes are not quite the same. They are impressive too and have an air of arrogance about them. If you want to see one, I might be able to convince my brother to let you meet Ionuth." She personally liked her brother though he seemed to be distancing himself from the family. That didn't bother her too much considering they hadn't been close since Lara showed no ambition and that was the one quality her mother felt was essential to life.

"Bronzes can be leaders but they often have to work their way to the top, beating out other Bronzes. If they want to lead the Weyr they have to fly the Senior Queen, once again beating out other Bronzes and a few browns who choose to give chase. Golds however, are born leaders."

Yijii took in the information, wondering if maybe that changed his opinion on what dragon color he wanted. He wanted to bond with an intelligent creature. He supposed that all dragons were smart, a blue was the one who Searched him. If a blue was smart enough to pick out a good candidate out of crowds of holdbrats, then surely he had intelligence. But if dragons got more intelligent through the ranks, then maybe he would be better bonded with one of the more intelligent beasts. He just really didn’t know.

He wasn’t sure if he wanted to be a leader, though. He liked to take control of some situations, but he wasn’t sure if he wanted people depending on him for direction all the time. He supposed it was something he could grow into it and he’d have his dragon for support. He almost shrugged at his own thoughts, but he remembered that he was in the company of someone else.

“That’d be wonderful,” he answered, contemplating actually getting close to one of the larger creatures. They were so perfect and magnificent. There were runners that he thought were absolutely beautiful, but none really held the intelligence that he’d grown to see in dragons since he’d begun to live at the weyr.

“So dragons are natural leaders if they’re bronzes and golds?” he asked, not sure if leadership qualities were something that were inborn. Apparently with dragon they had to be because no green ever ran a weyr, that’d be an abomination. “Do you think it’s the same for people? Do you think that some people are born leaders? Born to ride bronzes or golds rather than blues or greens or browns?”

Larissa smiled, content that someone actually liked talking to her. The akwardness was dissapating. Maybe he could be a friend in the future. For now though, she needed to find a way to ask her brother to let him meet Ionuth. The Bronze might be bathing or something, she didn't want to disturb their plans though. "We'll see what I can do. Weyr families aren't as strong as those of the Hold. We are not as close knit. Children are raised by the Weyr so that the Weyr becomes more than a family could ever be."

He was grasping all this quickly which made her think he must be intelligent. Larissa was not in the habit of giving herself credit, instead letting herself believe only that he was a quick learner, not that she explained things well. "Bronzes a little less than Golds. Some Bronzes have no ambition, just as a rider might not, but those are few and far between. All the Bronzes I've heard tell of, think they are hot stuff, the best there ever was." She grinned, much like Bronzeriders. Larissa was innocent enough not to realize that saying that about Bronzeriders could mean something else entirely.

"No. People are searched based on a special quality that dragons can sense. I'd say by the time they get to the age that they stand, they have developed a character that is more suited to one of those. Personally I don't believe when a person is born their destiny is already decided. Choices are what make you who you are and who you are, is what a dragon may want. Not who you could be with that dragon."
