Rory had been thinking about this whole taking it slow thing with N'zule. It was working thus far and he knew it was for the better. Still he did miss the physical things quite a bit. Rory and N'zule were both physical people so it was hard not becomming too into eachother too quickly.
The drudge was slightly bored this evening, since Allior had stolen Nishor. She had been watching him more lately because of Kerzule leaving. His nieces seemed to like their baby cousin a lot and ended up spoiling the child. With a free evening and nothing to do really, Rory went to see if his second favorite person was around. (Second only to his own son.)
He knocked on the door to N'zule's weyr, hoping he would be around. "N'zule. It's Rory..." He waited. No doubt the greenrider would make him wait a moment before letting him in. Maybe they could take a walk down by the Lake. It was still light out and there wasn't much going on down there right now.

N'zule had been taking a nap when Rory tapped on his door. He'd been more tired as of late, probably something to do with getting older, or the intense Wing practice that had suddenly cropped up. Then again, several new people had retired, and until the Weyrling class graduated they'd be understaffed, and the Wingleader wanted to experiment about formations when understaffed.
But for Rory, he could give up his nap. After all, the drudge had agreed to his demand of them going slowly. And thus, he owed the poor man his time. Stretching, and popping everything back into place, N'zule ambled over to his door, rubbing his face, and banishing all traces of grogginess. It was unfortunate he was still in his slightly sweaty flight suit, but there was nothing he could do about it then.
"Hello," N'zule said with a smile, holding the door open. "Come on in."

When N'zule finally answered he noted he was still in his flight clothes. Probably recently got back from practice. "Good to see you looking well, N'zule." Rory said as he walked into the weyr. He used to spend a lot of time here but not for a long while. The drudge found a place to sit pretty quickly.
"I was wondering if you had any plans for this evening. The girls have kidnapped Nishor again so I'm left childless and with no plans. Do you want to go out for a walk or something?" Rory felt a slight bit juvenile and foolish saying that but it was best he start with something that would sound entirely innocent.
He looked over to the ledge to see if Delith was around. Rory had not had the pleasure of impressing a dragon but that had not stopped him from befriending Delith. She was his favorite dragon in the Weyr and he had the feeling she knew it. "How was practice? You look a bit tired." His voice conveyed his concern for N'zule.

Delith was dead asleep in her couch, and wouldn't have woken up for all the rubs and scratches in the world. There wasn't even a shift in her sleep when Rory entered the stone weyr.
"A walk?" N'zule repeated softly, thinking about it. He wasn't too tired to do that, he decided after a moment of deliberation. He nodded, and then moved over to the chest that he kept his non-riding clothing in. Picking out a set of comfortable, sturdy cloth clothes, the Greenrider went off behind the alcove that separated his 'bathing' area from the rest of the room.
After he changed, he dropped his clammy leathers on his bed, smiled at the Drudge, and offered his arm.
"Shall we?"

The drudge smiled as the greenrider went to change. Delith was definately deep asleep. That meant now was a good time to steal N'zule away, since he wouldn't be busy with his dragon. He was glad the green wasn't flying any time soon. N'zule not proddy was a different person.
He waited patiently while the greenrider changed. N'zule looked good, he thought to himself when the greenrider came out from where he had been changing and placed his leathers on the bed. Rory stood up and took N'zule's arm into his own. "It is lovely this time of day by the Lake. I often take Nishor down there for picnics. In fact, Nisha joined us the other day."
Rory was making small talk but he didn't know what to talk about. His day had been normal, helping with broken things around the Weyr. Yesterday he had shown the new Harper where things were, a sort of tour guide. Hopefully N'zule wouldn't read too much into that.

"And how is Nishor?" N'zule asked, trying very hard to keep any trace of his dislike of that subject out of his voice. Of course, he could never dislike Nishor, and he enjoyed the idea of Nisha having her own children; and even Rory having his own children. It just bothered him that the two of them had a child together. But he could, and would, get over that.
Eventually.
Wanting to change the subject as soon as possible, he waited for Rory to respond, and then grabbed onto another topic, all the while walking steadily through the hallways, and towards the lake.
"So, have you met the new Harper? There has been a good deal of speculation about him."

"Nishor is doing well. His hair is becoming curly where its grown out. He seems to be friends with everyone in the Creche. Its quite funny really..." Rory said, realizing a little too late that the subject was making N'zule uncomfortable. The drudge moved on as N'zule did.
There it was. Ugh, he had thought to avoid this. The drudge couldn't help but turn a slight bit pink in the cheeks. "Karl, yes, I've met him. Showed him around the Weyr yesterday and made sure his room was alright." Rory, being who he was, couldn't stop himself once he started talking. He began to elaborate on the details.
" He is very nice. I introduced him to Allior when I took him to lunch and she seemed to think he was going to make a great addition to the Weyr. He's getting over his lover's death. Said it was hard to be in love with a man at the Healer Hall. I assured him it would be different for him here. I know your going to like him. Actually he's rather slim like you, has blonde hair, green eyes but they are kind of slanted. He's not as tall as you, I'd guess at least three inches shorter."

N'zule didn't wince. He wouldn't wince. He couldn't wince. Because he wasn't jealous of this Harper, who had nice eyes, and was shorter than himself, and was blond, and tragic because his lover was dead.
And he wouldn't be jealous because Rory had introduced his family to this Harper.
However, he did change where his arm was, hooking it behind Rory, holding him around the waist. Not because he was jealous, obviously, but because it seemed like a good idea. If Delith had been away, she wouldn't have allowed her Rider that deception, but she wasn't, so he was safe with his delusions.
"Oh? Did he say how long he'll be here?" N'zule asked in a perfectly normal tone. Discussion of Nishor might crack his mask, but very little else did. When he wasn't proddy that was.
"Should we have dinner with him?"

Rory didn't understand the sudden change of arm position but he didn't mind it either. He smiled and continued to chat, "Well he didn't mention leaving anytime soon. Hopefully he'll be around for a few good festivities like Hatching Feasts. We need all the Harpers we can get." Rory said, feeling a little more at ease talking now.
The drudge had only spent a couple candlemarks with the Harper, he hardly knew whether it would be appropriate to invite him. "I don't think tonight but another time. Tonight is for you and me." No one else. No Nishor, no Karl, no family and no worrying about Delith. She was fine when they left. N'zule couldn't use her as an excuse.
There it was, he didn't want to share N'zule's attention with other people right now. Perhaps it was selfish but he'd been parted from his lover for too long to ruin what could be a wonderful night with meeting up with another attractive man. That would only be bad for one or the other of them.

N'zule had no idea how little time Rory had spent with this Karl fellow, but it had obviously been too long. And N'zule would be lying if he said he wasn't pleased that he didn't have to share Rory this night. Or ever, if he got his way.
Not that N'zule was possessive or anything!
"So, how has work been?" N'zule questioned, quite enjoying the fact that he was shorter by a good sum of inches than his partner. It was a cool night, though not as freezing as it often became at Teglar. It was too bad that no Weyr really would consider taking a Telgarian unless they were bronze. It would have been nice to transfer, when he was older, to a Weyr like Ista.
"Has the Headwoman been taking advantage of your brilliance, or are you still fixing beds?" There was a gleam in N'zule's eye. He knew exactly what he was referring to, and wondered if it would make Rory blush. If anything could make Rory blush.
