Elisha had gotten a hold of a finalized list of the riders going between with the candidates. Trustworthy riders, all of them. Only the best for this mission. Of course, there was no option to those chosen for the new orders, there couldn't be. Elisha wanted the best, and these were highly suitable for their needs. They might not be happy, but if they valued what was good for the Weyr, they would go. And with out much complaint.
She stood at the head of a long table meant for meetings with the Weyrleaders. V'rak and R'net should be standing with her to deliver the news. And the other riders should follow in soon enough. This was a very important mission.

The corridors seemed longer as the brownrider made his way to the Weyrleader's Office. He wasn't nervous so much as concerned. Hopefully he had not done anything wrong. K'dyn hadn't been called to this end of the Weyr since he had last chatted with Marisol. The old Weyrwoman and himself had been acquaintances for most of his life thus far.
K'dyn often wondered why the Weyrleader's Office should be so far away from everything else. Then again it made sense if the Weyrleader didn't want to be disturbed, or if he were hiding something. That made him a bit nervous. What could the leaders of the Weyr have to say to a non ranking brownrider such as himself. Perhaps it was about Neory?
Yes, that was probably it. His sister. Well he knew her fairly well but he doubted he knew anything about her that they didn't know. It was a bit odd, this whole thing. The fact that he had been invited by R'net was a bit more than odd. A Triveni Wingsecond wanting to have him at a meeting? One never knew with those level seeming Triveni riders. For that he was grateful that he was in Zahra.
It was with a worried train of thought that the Brownrider tapped on the door, though his tapping was louder than he intended. The fact was he had stronger arms than he realized at times. "May I enter? It's Zahra Wingrider K'dyn."

Elisha heard the first knock and looked up with a smile, "Please, enter." when he did come, "Welcome, Brownrider K'dyn. How is your Ortath?" She said pleasantly. He was in the prime of his life, and she almost felt bad about sending him away. However, as far as she knew he had nothing that really that tied him firmly down to the here and now Telgar. This had to be done, she told herself.
"Please, have a seat, we are expecting a few more yet. Help yourself to klah or water." She motioned to the pitchers and mugs on the table. Refreshments that she had seen to getting. Poor riders must be nervous to why the Weyrleaders requested their presence.

[Eeee~ Finally somplace I can rear my ugly head once again!]
V'rak entered without knocking... It was technically half of his office, right? He was freshly shaved and dressed appropriately for his rank, riding leathers accentuated by a clean blue top. He closed the door behind him as he entered. He'd been keeping himself very busy... and when he wasn't running about, he was sleeping. Blue eyes flicked to Elisha first, before dropping to K'dyn. Well, at least he wasn't TOO late.
He cleared his throat a little before speaking, not so much to get attention as he was simply preparing to greet them. "Weyrwoman, K'dyn," he said in a simple greeting as he moved to stand beside Elisha, letting out a breath of relief that he was not the last to arrive. He was thankful that Elisha was competent enough to handle things in his busier days. Issues he could not address. It made him feel a little flustered, but either way he was grateful to have her as Weyrwoman.

R'net was right on the heels of V'rak, catching the door before it closed. He hadn't come quite the same way the Weyrleader had come, and his way was much shorter, the only reason he hadn't already begun speaking the the Weyrleader.
"Weyrleaders, Wingrider." R'net said formally, nodding to each of them, and glancing around.
"Who else are we waiting for*? The Wingsecond asked. How strange would it be, R'net wondered, when he had no one to answer to but himself. When he was the Leader of their band. Ten years of that, and who knew if he'd ever be fit to act as a 'second in any way. He pushed the thought out of his head. He'd deal with any consequences from this. No matter what they were.
"I'd like to get this orientation over as quickly as possible." He added.
*If no other played characters are coming, just lie and have all the NPCs here.

K'dyn greeted the Weyrwoman in return but was sortly interrupted by the entrance of V'raka nd then R'net. After they entered a few more riders filtered in. He recognized some of them. R'tor was the first one to enter, wearing well made clothes as usual and as another member of Zahra wing, he was only too pleased to see him.
Unfortunately, T'sor of Brown Colarth entered next. Though the wings did not openly fight it was well known that Pyralis and Zahra were hard pressed to get along, even in meeting situations. What was worse was that K'dyn had recently pulled a prank that involved the brownrider. The other brownrider didn't look too happy to see him either.
He looked up to see two women riders walk in, chatting and laughing. Trivenis...of course. Lena and Sairi greeted the leaders when T'sor was finished. H'seo entered next and he was known to be a pleasant sort. He assumed everyone was there after that but a bluerider entered at the last moment. Sh'ran, a Pyralis rider. Well at least there were more Triveni than Pyralis riders, that also meant more Triveni riders than Zahra ones, which was fine.He just wondered why such a modge podge group was put together?
The brownrider also wondered why the leaders were looking at him like that. He might not like this all that much. K'dyn didn't think he was in trouble but one never knew. The brownrider had no way of knowing if they were all there. By the first egg, if someone didn't tell him what was going on soon, he was going to make their lives difficult.
"Orientation? For what?"
((For everyone to see:
T'sor of Brown Colarth (NPC, Pyralis Wing) H'seo of Blue Reinth (NPC, Triveni Wing) Sh'ran of Blue Aeroth (NPC, Pyralis Wing) Lena of Green Mayth (NPC, Triveni Wing) Sairi of Green Jolith (NPC, Triveni Wing) R'tor of Green Falath (NPC,Zahra Wing)
If you want someone else on this mission we can still change it... but this is the last call really. ))

Neory had been invited to the meeting, though more of an observer than anything else. As the Jr. Weyrwoman - well, the future Jr. Weyrwoman - it had been decided that she needed to be present and included in these conversations so that she was in the know. She had been briefed only basically. She knew that some people were going on a mission where they were going to be gone for a while and that it somehow would save the weyr. She'd find out all the details with the rest of them here.
When both R'net - a very dear friend and sometime lover - and K'dyn - her brother - came into the room, Neory visibly paled. Both had been part of her support system as a weyrling so far. In fact, outside of friends among her clutchmates, these were the two she turned to when she needed to talk, and now they were going to leave for a turn. And during that turn Sheluth would rise... and R'net the only Bronzer she'd ever been with would not be among her pursuers.
She took a deep breath and forced herself to focus on the good of the weyr rather than selfish concerns, though she did give Elisha and V'rak a briefly disappointed expression, before she realized that, at least regarding R'net, there was no way they could have known how it would affect her. Nor should that be their primary concern.

Elisha was very glad to see V'rak enter, and as he stood next to her, she put a hand on his arm. It was a gentle touch, but it reassured her that her weyrmate was really there. Elisha had felt bad that most of the planning had gone on between her and R'net, but V'rak had been so focused on everything else, she hated to bother him. Besides, she and R'net covered just about everything fine themselves. V'rak had been the first to know other then she, R'net, and Elirian who over heard but most definately did not understand. She would not have it any other way. And then there was Neory, who was quickly becoming not a daughter, but more of a sister, a friend. Elisha had to use her disgression here, and R'net had too. They hadn't told her much, and Elisha knew that she was close to two riders- her brother, and friend, R'net.
Elisha wasn't sure of the reaction she would get from Neory, and she felt terrible to see that face on such a pretty girl. However, Elisha forced herself not to show anything. It wasn't her fault, it was duty, it was what was best for the Weyr. R'net hadn't said anything yet, but Elisha knew it would get worse before it would get better for Neory. Queenriders gave up much for the best of their Weyrs. They were self sacrificing, and maybe this would serve was sort of a harsh lesson about that. Though, Elisha defended, R'net wanted to go. He volunteered to lead them. Not that she should need to defend herself. . .
"Orientation,Wingrider K'dyn, for your new orders. You riders have been chosen as the best in your wings for this very special mission. You should feel privledged and honored that you are serving your Weyr thus. I think we should start with R'net's discovery tale. Bronzerider?" She turned to the young bronzerider as the approval to start.

R'net cleared his throat, and stood. He was a tall man, and he rubbed his short auburn hair, though not anxiously. He had been waiting for this moment, for quite some time. He'd hand picked his crew, careful to have a good balance of personalities, ages, colors. Not enough women, of course, but that was to be expected. He'd see about acquiring a woman from the crèche. She wouldn't need this briefing, but a different one.
"You are the best, for various reasons." He started off, standing tall. "Whether it be excellence as a Wingmember, or possessing skills necessary to this venture, you were the best. And that is why you were chosen. You are Dragonmen, and Dragonwomen, and while this will ask a great deal of you, it is your duty to do as asked."
His hazel eyes looked slightly tired at that. The Wingsecond was well aware of the downfalls of this plan, but it was his duty to follow it.
"We are at a loss for candidates. The sickness Pern endured wiped out a great portion of viable candidates, and with Telgar refusing us proper Search, we've turned to look for a viable way to get candidates. Sharing with other Weyrs is one of those options. The other option rests in our own crèche. We, as a group, will travel ten turns into the past, and return, one turn later, with a group of children who will offer variety to the clutch. They have been Searched, and are related to Dragonriders. You might even be related to some of them yourselves." He was, after all.
"Now, I'm sure I have some explaining to do, such as how to Between through times, but does anyone have any other questions?"

He was more puzzled than ever when Neory entered. Now he knew something was serious. R'net spoke shortly after Elisha introduced him. Oh great... here it comes. The pessimist thought to himself without a thought to what this mission could be. If it were that important some Bronzers would be doing it, not a bunch of wingriders.
K'dyn didn't hide his frustration at how long it was taking them to tell him of this mission and what it was he was supposed to be doing. He heard R'net say ten turns into the past and his face went a bit pale, which for K'dyn was a marked difference from his usual skin tone.
What?!! Finally he had his life together and they throw this at him. He was just a Wingrider, there were plenty more where he came from, they could jsut go and find someone else. Then it hit him that this wasn't just because he was good for the job but because his sister would be privy to all this information and noting how they talked all the time, it would be reasonable for them to employ K'dyn.
His anger was apparent, what was he supposed to say?! Betweening was dangerous enough, now they wanted him to risk his life and Ortath's for some mission for Candidates. Well, he didn't care about any of those whiney brats, nor were any of them related to him. He crossed his arms, and though the color had come back to his face, he stared stonily at R'net.

(Wrapping this up...))
When questions were answered and there was so little talking, Elisha stood up at the front of the room. "Betweening times is still considered dangerous, which is why we need you. If I could go, I'd love to, but my place is here. Please keep in mind, that this is for the best of the Weyr, and this revolutionary idea could help save the face of Pern! R'net will be in touch with all of you as to when you are leaving and practicing and the such. You are dismissed for now."
(Terrible post, but I wasn't sure what else needed to be here.)
