Elra reached her arms over her head, stretching before letting her wide grin break out as she turned back to the doorway. What a day it had been when she had learned her sister had, in fact, been posted at the same Weyr that had searched the dreamer. While the first day had been rocky with explanations of why she hadn’t told her sister she was coming to the Weyr in the first place, the two couldn’t help but be glad to be together once again.
“Eisu, if you take all day there will be no sunshine to enjoy! Please just come and forget your duties for a day. You work far to hard.”
The two sisters had decided to spend the day along the grassy bank of the Weyr lake with a picnic basket like they use to back at the Healer Hall. Just like then, the two dressed alike; both in one of Eisu’s many long, white skirts and both in one of Elra’s black, sleeveless tops. Besides the slight difference in the tone of their body, the only real way to tell the two sisters apart was the necklace and wide-brimmed hat Eisu wore as well.
Stepping through the doorway, Eisu pushed the picnic basket into her sisters ready arms before turning around and giving a whistle to the large canine waiting patiently inside. “I’m coming Elra, calm down. You would think you were twelve again.” Despite her words, the Healer’s voice was light. “Come, let us find a good place to sit and enjoy the weather.”
Eisu took her time walking, even as Elra and the canine Tak took off running ahead playfully. It was the type of day that left everyone feeling good within the warm sunlight and light breeze. If Elra was lucky, she’d even manage to talk Eisu into walking a little ways into the water, though she knew it would be tough as the Healer never could master the technique of swimming.
Eventually finding a suitable spot in the sunlight, the twins unfolded the large blanket together and laid it carefully upon the grass before taking off their sandals and sitting upon it. Their talk was light and happy as the two had much to catch up on.

Ganymeth was in the lead as the young man came running toward the Lake with his dragon. The Bronze was growing like a weed, though his rider wasn't much better...his clothes would need adjusting again! Ph'yn was almost to the sandy shoreline when Ganymeth splashed hsi way into the water. "Totally not fair! You had a head start!" The Bronze looked completly smug. "Well then you can play in there by yourself..." He proceeded to take off his shirt and shoes, then his socks. He did keep his pants on though they did little to detract from the stares from some passersby. Yes, he did have the build that was expected of a rider.
The bag he had brought with him contained sweet sand, oil a scrub brush and cloth to do the oiling. Before he started in on Ganymeth's Bronze hide he saw someone familiar... only there were two of her. Intrigued by this, Ph'yn remembered Elra saying she had a twin sister. Identical? Well how was he supposed to know, but he had guessed that might be the case.
Walking up to the girls, the dark skinned Weyrling smiled. "Hello Elra!" He liked Elra quite a bit, she was fun, flirtatious and beautiful. Not at all someone he would object to being friends with. "Enjoying the weather?" He looked from one girl to the other. Just when he had made up his mind as to who Elra was he, second guessed himself.

Elra had not seen the bronze and rider come up as she was facing the other way, but at the sound of the familiar voice she did not leave Ph’yn guessing which one she was for long. Smiling broadly at him, she jumped up and practically threw herself at him in an embrace.
“Oh Ph’yn, its been ages since I’ve seen you!” Hugging him tight, she stepped back and took her time looking him up and down. Weyrling training was defiantly having an affect on him and she approved. Once done, she smiled back up at him. “The weather is beautiful. Come, have a seat with us.”
Eisu watched her sister great the rider enthusiasticly and gave a small smile as she mentally shook her head. Her sister had always been enthusiastic about friends so it was easy to guess this man was one she had meet here at the Weyr.
“Just like you to not give any introductions Elra.” Turning to the man she smiled again, not the wide, toothy smile her sister used, but still similar in little ways. “I’m Eisu, Elra’s sister.” she said, looking up at the pair from her seated position.
Elra was looking past Ph’yn now to the lake. “Is that your bronze, Ph’yn? He’s getting big fast.”

Ph'yn was grinning back and held on to the hug for a moment. Man, Weyrling training was the worst! He'd had to give up all sorts of things he used to enjoy and most of them had to do with girls. Ganymeth had no idea what he had given up for him. The Weyrling rider sat down next to Elra, trying not to make the quieter sister more nervous than she already appeared.
"Yes, the weather is perfect. Ganymeth was in a rush to get out here." His green eyes roamed over to Eisu as she began to introduce herself. He could see a difference now but what an interesting quirk, to be identical twins. "Elra has told me a little about you actually. It is a pleasure. I'm Ph'yn and thats my dragon Ganymeth." Bronze didn't have to be added. Ph'yn was never a believer in the ranking system mostly do to his father and grandfather's strained relationship.
He looked down at the lake then stretching his arms before leaning back on them. "Yes, he's not at all small. Not even for his color." Ph'yn expected him to be on the larger end of average, which suited him just fine. "He's fun to swim with. Do you want to go for a swim with us?" He was inviting both of them of course. "At some point, I'll actually have to bathe him but he does like to do some swimming first. The Weyrlingmaster said it would make him stronger and he's taken that advice to heart..."

Eisu nodded at the offer of his name and his dragons. Her gaze following Elra’s, she watched the dragon for a moment. “How large do you think he will get? I’m still not used to seeing so many dragons and so I prove to be a poor judge of such things.”
Elra’s own gaze was caught by the bronze riders stretch and she turned her attention back to the good natured Weyrling. At the mention of swimming she smiled devilishly. “A swim would be wonderful! And if Ganymeth would not mind, I will help bathe him too. I always did like those lessons best.” She said, giving the bronze rider a wink. She really did enjoy any hands-on lesson with the dragons. Even so she knew her chances to impress were dropping dramatically as she was in her last turn to be within age limit for the sands.
“That sounds like a good plan. I believe we brought enough for an extra for lunch after you two are done in the water. Tak and I can set out the food while you two are doing that.” The thought of herself joining them in the water didn’t even dawn on the healer despite the obvious offer extended to the both of them.

"Well he is a Bronze and he is a bit larger than they expected of him. So I'd wager at least 37 meters in length, full grown." Ph'yn answered Eisu with a casual smile. He found her to be a bit practical and quiet spoken. Not that that was a bad thing, he just preferred the company of more free spirited people, like Elra. Not for the first time since meeting her, Ph'yn found her enthusiasm contagious.
"Ganymeth never minds extra attention. What can I say, he's a lot like myself. Only more logical and wiser." Ph'yn would not mind the company either. In Weyrling training, his only friend seemed to be a young boy who barely understood a word he said. Ph'yn wasn't even sure the boy was literate. He highly doubted it.
"Thank you Eisu. If you change your mind, you are welcome to join us." Ph'yn said and stood up with the fluid movement of one who is agile. After standing he held out a hand for Elra. This would be a better day than he was expecting. Ph'yn had the feeling that he and Elra would be friends for a very long time. Whether it would go beyond that at some point depended on their individual lives.
Are you coming? Yes and my friend is going to join us.I like your friends. Does he have a dragon too? She doesn't, well not yet. She isn't allowed to be on the sands unless there is a Gold. Maybe she will someday though? I hope so. She'd be a great dragonrider. More importantly, I hope she stays at the Weyr. Indeed, good friends are hard to come by.

Eisu raised her eyebrows in surprise as the young man mentioned how large he expected his bronze to become. It was quite the distance. Watching the dragon from a good distance, she confirmed the decision she had made to herself long ago that she would never stand upon the sands if asked. Thankfully now, she was nearly too old to do so anyways.
Elra didn’t miss a beat as Ph’yn stood offering her a hand. Taking it, she pulled herself up easily. Giving the bronze rider a mischievous smile, she turned to her sister.
“Who do you think Eisu?” “He is taller than you, Elra, but if I know you there won’t be a warning so you’ll win.”
Before Eisu had even finished Elra had turned and started sprinting toward the water. “You hear her Ph’yn!” she shouted back. “Now I have to beat you to the lake!”
It was easy to tell that Elra was one who enjoyed running and she let her long legs stretch to their fullest as she pulled up her skirt to offer more movement as she raced to the water’s edge. Eisu could not help but remember why she loved her care-free sister.

He realized a little too late what was going on. When he did notice that Elra was running to the Lake, he laughed. "Looks like I better put my Weyrling training to good use..." The youth took off after Elra with every intention of catching up with her. "We'll just see about that!" He didn't know if he would beat her or not but he could try.
The Weyrling was having no trouble at all gaining ground, but the woman was fairly swift herself. Ganymeth watched from the lake, slightly amused that his rider had been tricked. Ph'yn was usually the one to play pranks on other people which was why this came as a bit of a suprise. The weather and their lightheartedness made Ph'yn think the day would only get better.
Ph'yn didn't mind being behind her for a bit, not when she had her skirt hiked up like that. Enticing as the view was, he didn't remain behind her for too long and soon matched her stride for stride. "What happens if we tie?"

“Then my sister will have had good judgement.” She replied back, a little breathless. Even so, she kept her pace and smiled at Ph’yn knowing full well he was keeping up with ease. Reaching the water’s edge, she didn’t hesitate to dive right in as soon as the water was halfway to her knees.
Eisu shook her head as she watched, petting Tak absent mindedly.
Coming up from the cold water, Elra turned to see where Ph’yn had gone and if he had followed her into the water.

He supposed that was true of most things concerning her sister. She was the one with the good judgement. That was the same for Ph'yn's brother P'len. He had the voice of reason where Ph'yn had the urge to create mischief. At least they both had a surplus of charm to talk their way out of anything Ph'yn got them into.
They made it to the lake at the same moment though they had different ways of entering. Elra dove in, with all her feminine grace while Ph'yn decided to take a less graceful approach. Her entry was probably easier on the body than his. A little strength building couldn't hurt though.
Ph'yn let himself run into the water until it was deep enough to swim in. The Weyrling went under water for only a moment and popped up directly behind Elra. Ganymeth was far enought away to not be bothered by the splashings of his rider. Ph'yn took this opportunity to tap the unsuspecting Candidate on the shoulder. "Miss me?"

Elra jumped in surprise as she felt the tap on her shoulder. Spinning around quickly, she gave the bronze rider a broad smile. “Who wouldn’t miss you?” she said with a laugh. After a moment of swimming in place, the candidate decided that the long skirt she wore was not meant for the simple churning it took to stay afloat in one spot as it attempted to tangle with her legs.
Nodding down the shoreline toward the bronze, she started swimming that way pleased to find the skirt stretching back over her legs the way it was meant to. Her pace was an easy one, and she turned to the weyrling to watch him.
“You come to swim often with Ganymeth then?” she was pleased to find that she could remember the bronze’s name without difficulty. Tomorrow, however, might be a different story. “Looking at the wings, you’d think dragons would be awkward in the water…”

He laughed and followed her towards the Bronze. "We come fairly often. Ganymeth wants to build his strength before we start flying lessons. He wouldn't want to look weak to his clutchmates. Not with him being one of two Bronzes in the class. He thinks the other dragons will look up to him." Though that might be true, his rider found that sort of arrogance a bit disturbing, mostly because he found that in himself too.
"They can be, which is why its good for strength building. Though one has to be careful not to let the dragon overexert himself." He made a point to say that because he had had to stop Ganymeth before several times. The Bronze would swim forever if it meant he was going to fly well.
"How about yourself, do you come here much?" Ph'yn had not seen her here at the same time as himself. That didn't mean that she didn't come. They were probably missing eachother. Weyrlings had different schedules than Candidates.

Elra could imagine how good the swimming would be for a growing dragon just as she knew it was good for any person. At the mention of the dragon thinking others will look up to him, the candidate laughed. “Well I should hope they look up to him! He is a fine dragon and a bronze at that.”
Listening to the question as they neared the bronze dragon, she slowed her pace to consider her answer. “I come here often enough, it is a nice break from the candidate barracks. I should admit, though, that I am here more often after dark fall than before. It makes for an – ah – interesting swim.” Giving the tall man next to her a knowing wink, she continued toward the bronze once more.
“So how should we begin?” she asked, finally coming close enough to the shore to stand and put her hands on her hips as she looked the growing bronze over once more. How she wished she had been able to stand! Ah well, the queen was due to rise again. Elra could only put her hope and faith in the gold and the bronze who catches her.

He swam toward shore as Elra was but stopped closer to Ganymeth. "His ego just went from big to enormous. Thank you so very very much for that." His voice was tainted with sarcasm at his appreciation of her statment. There was no reason he should feel back about it either.
"Too bad." He grinned, eyes filled with mischief. "How can the other swimmers admire your figure in the dark?" Ph'yn knew he was being a little bold but Ganymeth didn't seem disturbed by flirting. As long as his emotions didn't run too deeply he figured the Bronze would be fine.
He scratched Ganymeth's eyeridges briefly before running to the bucket he brought with him. The bucket contained everything needed to bathe the Bronze. "First thing is taking the sand and scrubbing him. If you see any dry spots do this extra hard. Its fairly simple really." He tossed her a scrubber with sweetsand on it .

At the bronze weyrling’s comment of her figure, Elra’s eyes grew wide but only for a second before she pursed her lips and gave him a knowing smile. “Ah, my good Ph’yn, there is more than one way to admire an attractive figure…” Elra had been told time and time again how important it was for a Weyrling to be free of any relations, but she didn’t think to consider flirting could have any reparations, so she spoke freely with her words.
Having been the more active of the two sisters, Elra caught the scrubbing brush easily and looked at it a moment before looking back to the growing bronze. “Any particular area I should start with?” Moving closer to the dragon, she smiled at his large head.
“Hello Ganymeth.” She couldn’t help but wonder when the dragon would be old enough to fly. She was dying to know the feel of flight again and couldn’t help but consider bribing Ph’yn to take her when his bronze was old enough. After all, it was never guaranteed that she would impress.
